Despite troubling sexual themes (while in hiding, Miriam is raped by her protector), this remarkable, albeit unpolished, personal history may prove appropriate for religious or teaching purposes.

It's a forgotten piece of history worth recounting. One only regrets it wasn't better recounted than it is here.

The title role is played by Ariana Savalas, daughter of Telly. She's good, but not inventive enough to rescue Miriam, which is hobbled by flatly lighted video imagery, unconvincing period details and an inclination to wallow in atrocity.

So bad it doesn't ever approach being good, doesn't even go from bad to good and back to bad again--just bad bad bad, all the way through.
