Possibly the best Pixar movie yet, an absolute masterpiece. Superb pacing with no filler sequences, just the right amount of emotional touch and gorgeous visuals. It has all the best Pixar elements of well-timed humor, an important message, and interesting characters.

This Pixar animation takes on the climate crisis. A 19-year-old animal lover discovers a new technology that allows her to inhabit a robotic beaver, which leads her to assemble the animal kingdom to save her favorite pond. As expected, the lively pacing keeps it moving, but it lacks some of the hallmarks of the studio. The characters are charming, but none of them are especially quirky or unique. Although there are spunky moments, the opportunities for genuine humor are slim. The design is attractive without adding anything new to the style. Sure, it’s got a warm center and important message, but there’s a lack of anything new or special.

A thought-provoking cartoon that inspires people to think about habitat protection and how human's behavior affects animal's' lives.

From the creators of “What if toys had feelings?” and “What if emotions had feelings?”, it's time to know “What if beavers and politicians had feelings?”

Hoppers (U) is an animated film that deals with serious environmental issues in a light-hearted way. Mabel Tanaka (Piper Curda) loves animals and hates to see them caged up which gets her into trouble. Fortunately her grandma (Karen Huie) is a calming influence and perched on her favourite rock over looking a forest glade, she teaches Mabel how to be still and observe nature. That said, Mabel becomes a headstrong young woman and when she finds that Mayor Jerry (Jon Hamm) of nearby Beaverton, a popular politician, is about to push a new highway through the glade, she resolves to do something about it. Learning that her professor at the University has devised a new way of observing animals in order to understand them better, Mabel decides to take advantage of this technology and use it herself. That's all I'm telling you about the plot. A film children will enjoy, if not all adults, the woman, sitting near to me with her kids, seemed to lose interest and took out her phone. However, despite this distraction, it was an enjoyable romp with a different take on our understanding of the animal kingdoms, yes kingdoms. Not a sugar-coated view of the natural world by any means. Pond Rules, anyone? Can humans and all of the other animals share the world without any one kingdom selfishly favouring itself to the detriment of the others? This Beaverton fantasy shows that if you care about others, then there is always a chance.

This is one of Pixar’s more humor-centered films. It’s has a very strong cartoon energy to it, and plenty of good jokes. It also has a very charming art and animation style. But it also has an interesting story. I’m not going to say it’s especially unpredictable, but it has enough surprises for me to not completely see how everything would be resolved. It’s a story about environmental issues, yet it manages to display it’s somewhat timely themes and its more vague ones about unity etc without being preachy. And I like how the ending, despite being a happy one, is still willing to get slightly bittersweet at least for a family movie. This is more enjoyable than Pixar’s last few original movies, and honestly, probably most of their entire library of non-original ones too. I don’t think it quite reaches the heights of their golden age, but if it was released in that time, I don’t think it would stick out that much, so that’s something. It’s a fun, cute, family-friendly time. ****/@jaythemovieguy7751

It is true that Pixar has had its ups and downs over its 30-year history. What is certain is that this adventure, which highlights the importance of respecting and caring for the environment, is a success. Children and adults alike will be enchanted by the characters and humour.

Hoppers shows a Pixar that seems more interested in rediscovering the joy of entertaining than in building a grand statement. The film leans into a light, energetic, and playful narrative, allowing its reflections to emerge naturally throughout the story. This approach works well for most of its runtime, especially thanks to the creativity of the world it presents and the dynamic rhythm of the direction. Still, the film struggles when it tries to reach a stronger emotional impact. Some interesting ideas end up feeling underdeveloped, and certain conflicts could have carried more weight within the narrative. Even with these limitations, the result is a fun and well-paced film that may not reach the level of Pixar’s greatest classics, but shows the studio returning to what it does best: valuing entertainment and originality in its storytelling.

The main protagonist was very unlikable and not relatable. This alone made me annoyed throughout the film.

It's not Pixar's best film ever. Not by a long shot. But it's watchable and has an environmental message about life and the entire ecosystem. The problem is that it lacked soul; they tried to inject sentimentality into it. It's very much geared towards children. It lacked what has always characterized Pixar. At the end of the day, it has an excellent message, and George the beaver, king of the animals, is a great "human being".

Overall this is a very visually pleasing and entertaining movie. The characters are all very charming, especially King George. I thought the villain was incredibly good, actually. It doesn’t end up being another morally grey villain, and it’s sold very well. The conflicts escalate very believably and it ends in a very satisfying way. It does things in a MUCH different way from your average Pixar movie, and it feels very fresh and pleasantly surprising. While it’s not exactly what I would have wanted, the conclusion could have gotten a bit more time, the humor was a bit cringe sometimes, and some of the characters sometimes felt a bit flat, but overall, they did a good job with the movie and I would I highly recommend it. Not anything ****, but solid. 8.3/10

Do Not Just Give Animals a Future, Give Pixar a Future. I believe what will be interesting with it is that the animation style differs from what Pixar or Disney usually looks like such as not having surreal & beautiful eyes with shiny bodies - instead, it is more comical, texture less & geeky. It would be very fit for you if you were feeling tired of the bean mouth syndrome some characters suffer from. Animation differs are why Ican love certain movies, such as, the reason I like Illumination's "Migration". At first, it would be also interesting given that this Pixar movie may not seem like the most emotional with a meaning like others. Well, actually, it does! It focuses on Mabel Tanaka with her love for animals & dismay about the destruction of the area from Mayor Jerry. About him, who he is voiced by Jon Hamm, ever since he was told about the trouble, he became a favourite to me. It would be ironic that you know Tom Lizard actually talks. "Gatto" should take on a style too.
