Rough around the edges, but once you get used to the laconic pace, the plot grooves along nicely.

Although I find the term "chick flick" odious, I imagine that Columbia Pictures regards Catch and Release as exactly that, although there are signs that Ms. Grant was reaching for something more layered and subtle than the usual fairy-tale formula

A sweet movie. Timothy Olyphant is underrated, Kevin Smith is adorable and Jennifer Garner is the least annoying I've seen her. Love and loss are messy, this film is as realistic as any rom-com I've seen.
Thoroughly enjoyable.

It's a bit sad that people judge every movie like it's an Oscar attempt. This movie is a what I like to call "a simple slice of life" flick. Uncomplicated. No special effects. No BAM! moment. Just a segment in the lives of several people whose lives intersect. For those who are looking for love it becomes emotionally attached.

It's not a comedy-drama, really. It's let's-all-share therapy in beautiful Boulder, Colo.

A so-so romantic dramedy.

A film with a fishing metaphor for a title should have come with sharper hooks.

Time doesn't just slow down while you're watching Catch and Release -- it actually comes to a dead stop.

The chick comedy-drama Catch and Release may look bland, but it's not. It's worse. To rise to the level of blandness, it would need to have a few gallons of Tabasco dumped into it.

Not exactly what I thought it would be. Loved Kevin Smith & Jennifer Garner... Juliette Lewis too. The story was kind of wonky, but if you're simply looking for a cute movie to watch that you won't completely hate then this will do nicely.
