Bulletproof

Without the willingness to connect the dots between his very powerful examples, Chandler creates the opportunity to indict America’s culture of violence and then disappointingly misses his shot.

Bulletproof doesn’t offer many new insights, but it does function as a valuable capsule of the stark consequences that have come as a result of so much hype followed by indifference.

What this admirably hands-off film shows is how the feelings of anxiety that have surrounded school shootings have been monetized and translated into demand for consumer products. It is a nightmarish vision — the military industrial complex deployed in the halls where children ought to roam.
