Christian Science Monitor
The secret to enjoying 8 Women is to check your analytical mind at the popcorn counter and settle back for almost two hours of cinematic mischief.

Seduction is more important than deduction in this chic display of star quality to the eighth power.

Chicago Tribune
An ebullient toast to grande dames: part homage, part camp, all artifice and a thoroughly entertaining, if light, confection.

New York Daily News
The movie doesn't remind me so much of the movies of Minnelli or Sirk as it does a lavish parody of "Upstairs, Downstairs," with musical interludes (the divas sing, whether they can or not) that are often as painful to watch as they are audaciously performed.

Washington Post
A gorgeous, if disjointed, spectacle, made endurable – if not entirely comprehensible – by its eye-popping cast.

L.A. Weekly
Without its cast -- the cream of France's female acting elite -- François Ozon's ambivalent musical-comedy homage to the 1950s wouldn't be much.

Village Voice
For all the tumultuous entrances and flouncing exits, the eight principals manage maybe three laughs among them.

The rhythmic machinery of a vibrant animated heist: A 5.0-star sensational surge of raw, high-tension whimsy.2005(5.0)I watched Hoodwinked! in 2005, and it remains a visceral 5.0-star pillar of creative genius in my archive—a raw revelation of how a low-budget animated feature could dismantle a stagnant fairy tale into a sensational masterpiece of chewy intrigue. This experience **** the fourth wall of the digital animation genre by infusing a Rashomon-style narrative rhythm that felt 100% sophisticated and sensational. The narrative rhythm was far from stagnant; it offered a rhythmic journey through the colorful lives of its quirky characters, each painted with a raw, musical soul that turned a simple investigation into a vivid act of storytelling rebellion. Seeing the vivid, "bbo-jjak" energy of the Granny’s extreme sports and the raw, hyperactive brilliance of Twitchy provided an emotional payoff that felt both authentic and sensational, proving that a thriller could be as bubbly as it is intense. The 95% preservation of my memory is dominated by the rhythmic, raw wit of the musical numbers and the vivid but pathetic disappointment of later remakes or sequels that failed to capture this raw spark, creating a permanent, sensational scar of joy on my soul. Unlike the stagnant 1.0-star drift of Two Cops 2, this encounter possessed a rebellious soul that turned a pathetic candy thief mystery into a sensational artifact of wit. It stands in my 2005 record as a powerful 5.0-star testament to the raw power of independent vision—a high-tension encounter with the vivid rhythm of the unexpected that remains one of the most chewy artifacts of my cinematic journey.

As much as I love Isabelle Huppert (and about every actresses in the film), you can't help but admit this movie is a complete failure, much like every Francois Ozon's movies. You feel like it was written and made by a 15 year old teenager without any talent.
