World of Warcraft: Midnight is a worthy continuation of the Worldsoul saga, thrillingly continuing the story of Xal'atath in a beautiful setting. It features many improvements and new features that can now be crossed off the community's wish list.
Midnight is a solid but safe follow-up to the direction set by recent WoW expansions. Blizzard is not trying to revolutionise the game, but instead is developing existing ideas and focusing on greater accessibility. The result is an expansion that impresses with its setting and several systems, but at the same time feels unfinished and, in places, too cautious. If you enjoyed the last few years of WoW, you will be satisfied, although the full potential of this expansion will only be revealed with subsequent updates.
Midnight is a very solid expansion. Levelling remains exciting, gear acquisition feels less tedious, and Blizzard clearly understands what makes the game work. It's World of Warcraft at near its finest once again.

First of all, it probably needs to be made clear that Midnight is a Horde expansion. There’s really no point pretending otherwise. For the fourth time in a row, the Horde is being given an Alliance race in the form of yet another Night Elf copy. Unlike the first time, when Night Elves were copied for the Horde by using the Highborne lore, this time they went even further and copied the entire nature-centric lore of the Night Elves onto the new clone, even making them more closely connected to the World Trees. Then making them available to the Horde, the very faction that burned down a World Tree and polluted and deforested multiple zones… well, Blizzard lore. On top of that, they gave a third Dwarf copy in the last expansion, TWW and female humans through the visage form of the Dracthyr during Dragonflight. The only counterpart to all of this is a cheap Blood Elf clone for the Alliance, who to this day are still homeless and lack proper customization options. That alone already says quite a lot, but the devs apparently felt the need to go even further in Midnight. After Dalaran, Gilneas, the new little Night Elf village that serves as a poor replacement for Teldrassil and even Telogrus all became completely neutral for the Horde, Midnight now goes so far as to add a dedicated anti-Alliance district in the expansion hub where an Alliance player simply gets one-shot. Ironically, this isn’t even limited strictly to that district, it extends into buildings beyond it. So yeah… you don’t exactly feel welcome there, especially when the intro quests repeatedly remind you how reluctantly you’re tolerated as a guest in the city, after you were specifically called there to save the Blood Elves. And let’s not forget that during the Second War the Blood Elves already owed it to the Alliance that Silvermoon was still standing and later again in TBC when Velen purified the Sunwell. It just gets frustrating when there’s no balance between the factions and the devs design everything for one side. At this point it would take several Horde races being given to the Alliance just to even things out again in that regard. And since they exclusively took mainstream Alliance races, the counterparts would have to be at least just as popular, something like Vulpera, for example. But honestly, I already gave up hope for that years ago. If anything, they’ll might make the Amani playable next, which is yet another request from the Horde, but not from the Alliance, so it would again count as a loss, since the race would end up being played mostly in the Horde. Unlike the Vulpera, who would generally be mainstream in both factions. Aside from that… well, housing is ok, but let’s be real, first and foremost it’s just another microtransaction trap. Also everything is a queue simulator now, world scaling feels broken, just like the artificial progression and class balance or rather the lack of it. Professions are done really bad. Then there is the Gear/Stat inflation/bloat and the story is just as bad as ever. I tried it, but so far, Midnight is clearly not for me. Maybe I return in a future patch, but right now, I don't feel like the devs had both factions in mind, so I honestly don't see a reason to continue paying for a monthly sub.

The expansion feels great if you’re playing Mage, Death Knight, or Demon Hunter, but overall the class balance is lacking. It seems like the balancing team isn’t keeping up with proper simulations or performance analysis across all classes. Class pruning has also hurt gameplay significantly. Many rotations now feel clunky, with noticeable DPS loss simply because there aren’t enough buttons to press. The housing system is underwhelming at best. The editor is clunky and limited, and decorations are scattered across multiple vendors without even a basic search function. On top of that, housing feels overly grindy, clearly designed as a gold sink or microtransaction incentive. Meanwhile, the number of bugs in the game has increased dramatically. In terms of content, it feels like minimal effort was put in. The design tries to appeal to both veteran players and newcomers, but the result is a disjointed experience - like a dish with too many ingredients that don’t quite work together. The story, in particular, feels messy and unfocused. The Silvermoon rework stands out as a rare highlight and is probably the most enjoyable part. Lastly, the removal of combat addons without providing an adequate alternative has been frustrating, especially for more casual players like myself.

I really like the story line. However Blizzard blocking add-ons like DBM and making changes to the worst is very heartbreaking. The dungeons are way too overwhelming and very unenjoyable. Dying too much even when in follower dungeons. Not everyone likes challenging gameplay. Running follower dungeons seems like mythic + difficultly. Players like me would rather enjoy a laid back relaxing game like it used to be without all the overwhelming multitasking. Not everyone can multitask well. Blizzard should take all customer’s options into consideration regardless of how their mind is. Seems like they’re favoring the higher intellect people and making things just enjoyable for people who can comprehend an abundance of multi tasking and competitive game play. This game is becoming a game that I no longer enjoy. After playing this game since 2004 and eventually getting my own won account in 2011 durning cata. I feel this game is slowing be coming I playable to certain customers. Some people struggle to know and memorize what enemy abilities are and taking away addons that assist people who struggle is somewhat disturbing and disrespectful to them. I’m starting to hate this game.

A very good expansion, its new areas are beautiful and the main plot is very entertaining; moreover, it follows the path of what TWW did well and takes it further.

It has been an amazing experience so far. I haven’t been this invested in an early part of an expansion since Legion or WOD. The zones are memorable and also beautiful and the music is great. Slayer’s Rise World PVP has been really fun, I’m looking forward to the arena season. I love that combat addons are largely gone, they got a bit too influential. It’s funny seeing negative reviews that nitpick over nothing, they only see the negatives in a game rather than what is good. No game will ever be perfect.

World of Warcraft: Midnight uses the transition from the Worldsoul Saga to recover the classic identity of Azeroth with great success in terms of setting and new content, with a narrative that still needs more emotional charisma.

World of Warcraft: Midnight is off to a fantastic start, with a campaign that, while uneven in places, ends on a strong note. Paired with an excellent new casual gameplay pillar in player housing, as well as more dungeons, delves, and class options, it already feels like a strong expansion.

World of Warcraft: Midnight is a smart expansion that builds upon The War Within and improves on strong MMORPG foundations. As before, this is an evolution rather than revolution, but I'm excited to see this icon still has room to grow. Small improvements really add up, making me want to spend far more time returning to this world than I expected.

The vibes are good. Housing is great. It's one of the better housing systems in any MMO I've played. This expansion contains some of the best local stories I've ever experienced in WoW.

The game has improved in many ways and has managed to bring some really interesting things into the game. -Transmog, Housing, and the Bounty/Hunt system are great additions. I even stopped in the Haranir zone just to enjoy the music, which is honestly beautiful, and it had been a long time since a game made me do that. -Allowing players to play with fewer addons and customize their interface is fantastic. It still needs some optimization, but it’s already a great step. - I enjoyed rediscovering old zones in a new light. - The dungeons are interesting and generally not too long. - The simplification of the classes has its positives. But my Evoker healer has been completely butchered, and that makes me a bit sad. However, there are also some major negative points. - The French voice acting being removed. This is very serious for the industry. - The optimization is currently awful, with many bugs. The game was in beta/early access for over a month, and it’s now been out for two weeks, yet some of the most obvious bugs still haven’t been fixed. - The stakes and themes feel uninspired to me, and once again everything revolves around elves or humans. - Out of the four zones, none of them truly amazed me. And I really dislike the Void zone. Crafting professions are still very hard to understand and not very enjoyable. I preferred the old system. - Playing DPS with my Evoker in solo content feels unplayable. Overall, I think the game is very good, but it could improve with future updates. Starting with bringing back proper French voice acting and removing the terrible AI voices. You have the money. Pay your artists.

Blizzard/Microslop are so desperate to make this into a generic Disney game. They replaced the beloved TBC music with some generic slop, removed the Ghostlands, added quest skips to just about everything. You can't even fly to places anymore, quests literally teleport you there. There's a disgusting amount of filler. It's just a bland xpac

It would be a 6/7/8 but drops hard to 3 just becauase of the new Hearthsteel microtransactions.
