Between the lack of exigency and a formulaic approach, Voidwrought is competent but rarely compelling. Sure, the game’s dark atmosphere is attractive, and the game’s delivers the fundamentals expected from an action-adventure. But I stuck with it to the end due to obligation rather than eagerness.

I would absolutely recommend checking out Voidwrought when you get a chance. It’s a fantastic Metroidvania with some inventive abilities, and doesn’t overstay it’s welcome at a fairly tight 10 hours or so depending on how thorough you are with finding everything. I was really happy with the game overall, and if you have any affinity for these types of games, then I think you will be too.

Voidwrought doesn't aspire to be more than a typical metroidvania, heavily borrowing from Hollow Knight, especially in its visuals. There's a fine line between drawing inspiration and outright imitation. Unfortunately, in this case Voidrwrought crosses the line without hesitation.

The fact that it borrows heavily from Hollow Knight brings to light how far from reaching the quality of it the game really is. The bosses are dissapointing after a certain point and some mechanics feel clunky. Decent. Got sad because the final boss didn't **** me up :(

Voidwrought is a competent Metroidvania, in which, admittedly, not all the ideas are very original, but that does not make it any less enjoyable to explore the recesses of its occasionally a little too cryptic world or less than successful soundtrack. Overall, therefore, a game that is absolutely worth considering if you are a fan of the genre (or if you need something to calm the wait for Silksong).

A very fun game, with highly customizable gameplay that will keep you exploring all its areas full of colors and immersive aesthetic details, in addition to fighting its interesting enemies. However, it fails to propose something really new using mechanics already seen before within the genre.

Voidwrought is a simple but fun Metroidvania with rich and amazing lore. Even though the game lacks a certain thread of story to follow and becomes unbalanced halfway through the game, its magical soundtracks and strangely beautiful art style are effective enough to give it a try.

Voidwrought is fast, fun, and fluid. Despite some late-game balancing issues, it still makes for an entertaining Metroidvania experience. The soundtrack alone is worth the price of admission.

While some parts can be cryptic it's a fun and addictive metroidvania with a great art style as well. It's not genre-defining or anything but it's what games are supposed to be: Fun. I'd recommend giving it a go.

'OH YA, BRO - GAME'S SO HARD WITH MY DELIBERATE DESIGN FLAWS!' Yet another fundamentally flawed, artgame, indie title. It's clear they are trying to imitate Hollow Knight, but don't really know what they are doing. Combat is way too fast for how close quarters everything is; or maybe they want you to play slower and more deliberately like MUH DARK SOLES!?! They rest of the movement doesn't really reflect that style, either, though. So, it's really just a confused mess within the opening hour. The first boss is mostly a touch hazard, but your basic attacks are so close range, it's far too easy to bump into it and end up dying or getting stuck in scenery. That kind of goes the same for basic enemies and what damage sponges they are. I wish they would have spent a fraction of the time on game design as they clearly spent writing the EPIC STORY BRO and the art assets. Ultimately not worth the frustrations for such a flawed game - I'm glad the full game was far worse than the demo and that I could make this an easy refund.
