For where it came from, i can't give it higher then this, the story and logic in this game were fairly lacking, not in that the logic didn't line up, but in the fact that the game seems to expect you to be solving it along the lines as the MC, who is generally at least 5 steps behind consistently. How the game expects this on even the most simple of questions is beyond me, for an example, in the game at one point you are shown a left handed gun, told it was specially designed and NOT expected to know that somehow even though it basically spells out that it's a left handed gun, this is meant to be a massive puzzle for you to solve, when it's basically a tutorial level deduction, and thus takes around 10 minutes to reach the conclusion, even though you may be saying this at the screen the entire time. And unfortunately most of the puzzles are of this nature, nothing should come as a surprise, and if anything this game tends to skip the legitimate questions and ignore them for the most part. From the team behind Danganronpa, this is a legitimate downgrade, and I'm surprised at how much this fails as a logic style game given their roots.

Short Experience based game with no Replayability that feels specifically designed to just barely hit the 2 hour requirement to no refund on Steam as the majority of the time you spend is spent on glorified loading screens (some of which are as long as 3 minutes) Some people are saying this is a 4-5 hour game, it isn't if you actually focus on the puzzle in front of you, and not just reading lore, it's 3 hours at best and as low as 2 at worst, and I suspect if I were to have removed all the time I was waiting for one thing or another to load 1.5 hours at most. Feels like there is a great game here if the Dev decided to actually flesh out and continue using any of the mechanics in the game to be more ****, but alas this is what we get.

This is a great game, and a great follow up to the Zero Escape series, though it does have some slight shortfalls, it definitely provides a great experience overall. Some of the Somnium segments are not perfectly executed, but that comes down to the same minor flaw that the Zero Escape series had, which is following the single thread of logic all the way through not always being easy, but that doesn't detract from the overall game. The visual novel aspect is really well done as well, some characters you want to punch in the face, and at the same time, they are humanised so well that you can be really happy for those same characters All this said, i will say the justification for the Time-flow just isn't there like it was in the Zero Escape, Zero escape had it's reasoning for the plot being able to happen, this one goes into the "science" of it and then leaves it at that. This and the Detective part kinda being undermined at the end doesn't help things, but it's still a great game in the end.
