Stranded: Alien Dawn is a well-focused survival game with choices that have meaningful and lasting impact. While it could stand to have a few more scenarios, what’s on offer will keep you busy for dozens of hours, and that’s just your first playthrough.

Stranded: Alien Dawn borrows from RimWorld and The Sims, but meshes the borrowed elements into something both unique and immensely rewarding.

An outstanding strategy game, though it can feel a bit tedious at times (especially late game). Overall, it's a rewarding and highly enjoyable experience.

In my opinion, this is the best strategy/survival game I’ve ever played. All the scenarios have a beginning and an end, so it doesn’t feel repetitive. Each character has their own unique traits, so you have to adapt your strategy accordingly. Resources and time are scarce at the beginning, so you have to make decisions about what to do and what not to do, without it ever feeling unfair. My only complaint would be the absurdity of the attacks in the higher levels, especially in the Android DLC, where it’s practically impossible to win at the maximum level. Other than that, I think the game is simply awesome.

Stranded: Alien Dawn is an excellent game in the style of RimWorld, but with a better chosen graphic style. It's a fun survival fight with different objectives based on each scenario. Thanks to the individual settings, it is suitable for players of any maturity and skill level. It's just strange that the survivors don't need water.

Visually, the game doesn't offend, but it doesn't impress either. On the other hand, it manages to elegantly justify it with game mechanics. Nevertheless, Stranded has a huge potential to find its players in those attracted by the genre of survival simulators and management-building games. [Issue#327]

Stranded: Alien Dawn is a great experience for those looking to get into the Survival/Strategy genre, even if a hardcore fanbase won’t like the lack of options in crafting, character generation, and random events.

A delightful 3D variant of RimWorld with some fresh ideas, but it needs more variety in combat and everyday life.

I have no doubts that the Steam Workshop will do wonders with this game. If modding is supported properly by the developers, which it appears will be the case, we could have some seriously impressive mods down the line. I’ve already played around with the Beyond Stranded mod that adds a bunch of new traits, survivors, and expeditions - it’s a clear indicator of what is possible given enough time and effort. As it stands, though, Stranded: Alien Dawn is already a good game, but with more customization, narrative elements, scenarios, and general expansion on some solid foundations, it can become a great game.

I play this game as "Red Alert 2".

A colony simulation with 3D graphics while maintaining the gameplay and concept of "Rimworld". It's mostly interesting, but even as technology advances, the character's movement speed doesn't change, which makes it frustrating. I think it was necessary to at least have specifications such as increasing travel speed once the roads were maintained. Also, the speed at which equipment deteriorates is so fast that production cannot keep up with it in the early stages. Installing a MOD would solve the problem, but it would have been better to enjoy it in its vanilla state.

The game is addictive at first, quite enjoyable building your base and trying to defend it. I enjoy playing it mostly, but I tried building a larger base further away on a flat open area and then I had shriekers appear which are a difficult enemy and I was only at autumn year 1 and barely had any defenses so wasn't prepared for them. Difficulty is based on amount of stock you have or if you start trying to build a massive base you get more attacks and harder attacks which is annoying. I wanted to prepare and then wouldn't mind attacks as then it feels more fair.I got sick of getting attacked so much. I played on medium **** it lacks depth and variety to what gameplay there is. There is also not much content and only 3 scenarios. 4 if you get the **** worst is everything takes such a long time to make. As most of the time survivors aren't happy and can't work. As if you keep them working when unhappy they will have a meltdown and do something like have an uncontrollable food binge and you have to punch them out to stop them. Progress seems so slow.I had them working from 6am to 6pm with do anything, relaxing and sleeping other times even so no matter the character their happiness gets low and you can't work as you have to let them relax even in times you want them to work so they don't have a meltdown. You think they would have a strong resolve to push on as it means their very survival if they can't craft weapons as they are too unhappy. They are such weak people. Even Ken who when hunting and killing makes him happy, but then you have to haul the meat back to base which then makes him unhappy.I know it's various things causing unhappiness such as pain from injuries or they don't like another survivor etc. it's just annoying. It takes forever to get anything ****'s alright, I just play it because I bought it and it's not completely terrible but can't recommend as there are a lot of annoying mechanics in game and micromanaging. I tried to force myself to keep playing but then when 4 out of 6 of the survivors were unhappy and unable to work and yet again nothing is getting done, I thought stuff that, I am not putting up with this rubbish any more.I got so sick of it and didn't even complete 1 scenario as I got so fed up with them not wanting to work most of the time. They are a bunch of weak whingers that complain about everything even when you build a home they are unhappy the flooring isn't decorated yet. So many things make them unhappy. It's just too annoying. So can't recommend.6/10

The game is waay too long for nothing. At some point you are done, the mission is over. All you have to do is wait for ships. But its like 5h hours of waiting doing nothing. Then when you are finally done, they'll kill a man exploring, so you have to wait until his body decay to end the mission. One or 2 more hours just waiting. Its unsufferable. But the first 15 hours on a map are great.

Very flat and boring from the midgame and onward, have been playing a session for a while and it had me invested in the first few hours but afterwards it slows down in such a rate that it gets boring.
