OVERPASS

This title is fun and encourages you to replay tracks and get the best scores, it misses a huge opportunity with multiplayer, and while players may not care in the short run, in the long run, this could have an affect on the game and the player base.

Given its focus on just one thing, Overpass doesn’t feel particularly realistic or weighty, and you can certainly get more excitement from conquering GTA V’s Mount Chiliad. Still, it does what it does without fuss, faffing, or frills, so take it or leave it. We’d probably leave it. [Issue#174, p.86]

Overpass, unfortunately, deserves to be passed on. The game offers an interesting concept, but fails in its execution. Framerate problems and a frustrating difficulty curve, as well as unnatural physics, are the main detractors.

Overpass has something interesting ideas, but fails in its attempt to put them all together, with a flawed balance in the difficulty and not-so-believable physics. It's a shame, because the game has a lot of personality and modes – yet, it feels frustrating.

Unfortunately these components that work do not do enough to elevate Overpass to the next level. Since the player never really feels connected to the action around them, there's a lack of cohesion that ends up being detrimental to the overall feel of the game. There is promise here, and its distinctive place in the market definitely makes it stand out, but the wider problems at large stop it from being a must have.

Overpass is an interesting and unique take on the driving genre, but issues in the most integral areas of the game often make it a chore to play.

There's really no way to gild this filthy lily - Overpass is an infuriating and deeply unsatisfying experience which should be given a wide berth by anyone who values their sanity.

I don't know why, but this game was very frustrating. It has some good qualities, but overall it just isn't very fun. You struggle not only with terrain and tracks, but also with weird physics and glitches, all while fighting with time.

Actually this game has an interesting idea, very unique, but the physics feels strange and unrealistic, it makes this game too frustrating, lacks a soundtrack that gives an offroad atmosphere

Reviews arent generally my thing, but with the sxs scene so close to my heart I had to chime in on this one. I thought if nothing else this game would be a good time killer, but I'm gonna let you in on a little **** not. Other then this game having sxs's (ATV's are just about useless in this game) and having farely decent obstacles, that's where the pros to this game end. The "upgrades" dont change the appearance of your vehicle, you cant adjust suspension, change tire size, add accessories that would benefit your run. The throttle control is laughable when trying to position yourself on a line , you cant stop mid hill because it will turn into "ice" and you will slide back down, most likely tipping in the process. The physics are limiting, if you come off an obstacle or drive into even a hill to fast your buggy will stop dead and you will take damage(that's when the hill then turns to ice and you start sliding). Basically if your buggy comes off the ground it will come to a dead stop when you land. The engine breaking is not even in the realm of where it should be, its like having the brake hanging up all the time. The difference in driveability between buggies isnt substantial enough, the lack of customization is a huge mistake(no one that owns a sxs leaves it in stock form....ever). I can do well in this game , but it's not fun. It lacks alot, not sure it can be fixed with updates. Save your $$ for the next time around.....maybe.

Dont usually worry about reviews but this ones worth it. Don’t worry about buying this. The pictures and videos are not even close to what’s offered. I preordered this back in November and am just now playing it, 03/17, and it is so unrealistic. It’s pretty sad. Don’t waste the money honestly.

This was made by people that have never driven off road. Spend your money else where.
