As criticisms go, “it was too addictive and I finished it in a few hours” isn’t exactly the worst thing you can say about a game. In fact, as someone who prefers quality over quantity, I’d much rather leave a game wanting much, much more — which was exactly the case with One Line Coloring. There are much worse ways to spend part of an afternoon.

One Line Coloring is based on an extremely simple premise: draw lines and connect dots to form shapes. The difficulty grows as the game goes along and becomes more and more demanding but the core remains the same. An experience that becomes harder but not unnerving, as it’s accompanied by relaxing, Zen-like features. In the end, that’s what One Line Coloring is all about: challenging, but relaxing at the same time.

One Line Coloring is a series of cute brain-teasing puzzles with a pleasant art style. You can even view your puzzle solutions in dioramas, which reminds me of Picross 3D. And honestly: if you remind me of Picross 3D, that’s a good thing. That being said, One Line Coloring does not equal that legendary Nintendo DS and 3DS series, but it does scratch some of the same puzzling itches.

An elegant game of art mixed with problem-solving, One-Line Coloring is a fun distraction with a laidback attitude that’s perfect for a less stressful afternoon when you want to give your brain a quick warm-up.

One Line Coloring is a charming little puzzle game that revolves around tracing objects using only one line. It's relaxing and offers little in terms of challenge, but its colorful visuals and cute aesthetic helps alleviate that. Unfortunately it doesn't take long to trace all 110 objects though.

Connect the dots and you’ll find that One Line Coloring is an extremely simplistic puzzler. However, it’s hard to criticise a game that does exactly what it promises in a well-presented and pleasant package, that uses the Switch’s touch-screen functionality well.

One Line Coloring is the kind of puzzler that's nifty at first but it becomes quite formulaic once its gameplay starts to click.
