While perhaps not a ground-breaking addition to the Wii library, A Shadow's Tale had the potential to be more than what it ended up being. Nevertheless, what was given is still quite a good experience that will delight Wii owners craving for an original concept that strives to convey a unique atmosphere to its players through a well designed soundtrack and visual style.

The basic idea behind A Shadow's Tale is quite intriguing, but the game design fails to drain the main portion of its drive. The game plays it's strongest hand in the opening quarter and unfortunately rest of this trek is repetition of the few good ideas. If the contents were compressed and the game sold via Wiiware, the result would definitely be an instant classic. [June 2011]

Lost in Shadow is a unique, rewarding and well crafted experience.

At first glance it's just an ordinary platformer with a gimmick, and I do quite like the gimmick, but I can see why many critics rate the game poorly. However, as I got deeper into the game I fell in love with its brilliance and its weirdness. It's incredible how much effort went into designing levels that are played as both a 3D foreground and a 2D shadow projection. And the song Hinagiku by Gutevolk sets the tone of the atmosphere so well. I wish there was more of this game!

There was great originality in this concept. Simple storyline but clever shadow mechanics. Seemed a bit lengthy too and repetitive but ok the game was completed and the taste was ok.

A Shadow's Tale is an engaging and enjoyable platform game, with a nice artistic direction and a good number of original elements that fit effectively into the gameplay.

If you can keep your expectations in check, accepting that Lost in Shadow is essentially an old school Prince of Persia-inspired game with a clever twist, you will find it worth your time to try it out.

a classic by any definition, this is a marvel of both level design and pure ingenuity. If you like having fun you'll like this game and everything it shadows.

Ultimately I can't recommend Lost In Shadow to everyone. The puzzles and combat are too difficult for children (even on easy mode), and platforming fans will be put off by the unresponsive controls.

Lost in Shadow comes together to form a unique package and is often inspired in its complex play of light and shadow. It's a fun game that sometimes frustrates, but also really works your brain's capacity for spatial awareness.

As I trudged through hour after hour of Lost in Shadow's adventure, a singular, pervasive thought cycled through my head: I wished this game were shorter.

With its refreshing pitch and mystical atmosphere, A Shadow's Tale seemed like an original game. But if this innovative side is well expressed through the visual, it's not in the gameplay, which is inspired by a variety of other existing games, but without any inspiration to merge all this in a clever way. A Shadow's Tale main flaw remains its lack of pace, variety... and fun. A game that can catch our eye very quickly, but can't keep our interest up very long.

This game is truly amazing. It fills me with such joy to play it. Gameplay is good, and the controls feel super solid. The graphics are beautiful and stylized, minus some jagged edges on the shadow. Combat is one of the smaller problems, with the first sword, you need to be kinda close. This does add a sense that the later swords are an improvement though. The simplistic RPG system is perfect for this game, since its mainly about platforming, but it still gives your shadow a sense of growth. If you own a Wii and are looking for an underrated classic, you have found your game.

this is a great puzzle, RPG, platform game with a great art direction and a unique style which alone makes a amazing game, you play as a shadow boy and the puzzles revolve around moving objects , shadow and light
