Once you unlock a few things and understand how it’s working and what it’s doing, it’s clear to see that the developers get it. They fully understand what the fun part of this formula is and they’ve dialed in on that fun. Even though it’s not pushing the most pixels and it’s not the deepest thing around, what they’ve made here absolutely works and it’s fun as hell.

It's let down by mediocre visuals and voice acting, but if you're a fan of roguelikes, there's enough here to keep you invested.

Есть такие игры, которые вроде проходняк (в смысле мимо них нужно проходить), но чем-то берут и цепляют. В Kiborg всего 3 локации и всего, наверное, штук 10 врагов из-за чего игра кажется крайне однообразной. Но мне очень понравилась система имплантов, которые выпадают случайным образом из-за чего прохождения отличаются подходом к врагам. В итоге два десятка часов пролетели в ней незаметно т.к. было очень любопытно узнавать какие же еще импланты я не открыл и затем комбинировать их, превращая героя в машину смерти.

KIBORG is not a bad game, but it's not an exceptional title either. It sits in a comfortable middle ground: it features well-executed melee combat, admirable technical stability, and solid progression systems, but it falls short in crucial aspects such as enemy variety, narrative depth, and audiovisual quality.

Too much of my time with Kiborg was spent thinking how much more fun I’d be having if the game dumped the roguelite elements and just went full old-school third person action brawler. So many of its failings could be ignored in that form. Instead, Kiborg is a slightly underwhelming rougelite that looks like it should be far more fun that it is.
