Hell Clock
Hellclock is a solid game that offers something new to both the roguelike and Diablo genres but may not have the wider appeal of titles such as Hades due to its focus on min-maxing and DPS over skill. The confused approach of offering game modes that actively undermine the title’s central gameplay mechanic, and the current performance issues in the latter stages, are real negatives but the first can be avoided and the second is being worked on. If the idea of a roguelike Path of Exile appeals, then Hellclock may well be the game for you.
As it stands now, the game is just my cup of tea. The visuals are great with a decent story to back them up. The different builds are fun to explore and try out. The game has the perfect amount of grind that keeps my attention but doesn’t make me rip my hair out. It is not without it’s flaws, but none of its shortcomings detract from my overall experience. To put it simply, I’m just having a ton of fun playing and I feel as if my review does not do the game the justice deserves. If you are a roguelike or ARPG fan, I happily encourage you to give Hell Clock a try!
Even the base version of Hell Clock is worth the purchase: it’s one of the most addictive roguelite experiences I can recall. It’s fun, engaging, and offers impressive depth and customization. The endgame still lacks some longevity, but the developers are highly active and already have plenty of updates planned through early 2026. If you're a fan of the genre and enjoy a more hack 'n' slash take on the classic formula, Rogue Snail’s title will keep you great company through the hot August days and well beyond.

Jogo incrível, ótima jogabilidade, quase no mesmo patamar que um Hades. História muito boa, baseada no Massacre de Canudos.

Bringing a hellish twist to the 1869 War of Canudos in Brazil. Hell Clock uses its wicked styling to drag the player into its dark setting. Lots of ARPG and Roguelike elements, with a good size build diversity. Though it can be a real good time, suffers from a very abrupt difficulty curb and balance issues.

I really enjoyed my time with Hell Clock. It balances all its aspects just right: narrative, gameplay, progression, and difficulty. Just watch the clock, you might lose yourself down in Hell.

Hell Clock is one of the most remarkable projects in the Brazilian indie scene in 2025, not only for its quality as a game, but for the pride it carries in portraying a brutal and underexplored slice of Brazilian history. It skillfully combines challenging gameplay, a rich setting, and a strong cultural identity, delivering a unique, immersive, and necessary experience.

Easily one of the best video game experiences I've had this year. A game that perfectly portrays such a significant event in Brazilian culture as the Canudos War. A 10 out of 10.

This Brazilian ARPG with roguelite elements offers addictive combat, deep build customization, and a rare historical backdrop, though its story loses narrative strength over time and its combat can feel simple; still, its variety of options, engaging progression, and active post-launch support make it one of the most enjoyable surprises of the year.

I can’t help but love Hell Clock, because it exemplifies the reason I love indie gaming so much. This space offers unique, personal stories paired with enigmatic gameplay that refuses to let me go. It impresses at every turn, constantly surprising me. Even though I opened this game feeling like I’d seen everything within, several times before, I felt that glee of seeing something fresh, and I put my controller down having experienced something built out of passion.

There’s never been a game centered on the War of Canudos before, and Hell Clock makes terrific use of this unique setting, even inspiring me to scour the internet and learn more about this corner of world history. Hell Clock feels like a studio reaching its stride, and it’s going to be fun to watch its audience peel apart the meta and fuel the prestige components to come. If you’re looking for a beautifully dark, satisfyingly complex single-player action RPG with real stakes, set your alarms for Hell Clock.

Hell Clock is a beautifully dark and intensely satisfying single-player action RPG that masterfully blends risk and reward, making it a standout in the roguelike and dungeon crawler genres. With its pulpy, fiercely animated visuals and grimly righteous atmosphere, the game offers a smart, yet undeniably fun, experience from start to finish.

10/10 Its fluid, beautiful and the music it's just...*chef's kiss* - in my opinion Hell Clock is the best indie ARPG of 2025.

For me, one of the best games of 2025. And easily one of the best non-European/North American games ever made. The gameplay is similar to Hades, with ARPG elements and mechanics inspired by giants like Diablo and Path of Exile, but all in a completely fresh setting with breathtaking art that keeps you immersed for hours. I can't stop playing. Congrats to the devs and to all the players who get to experience this game. Hell Yeah!
