If there's a nit to pick with Gun, it's that it's short. Depending on how much you poke around, you can beat it in anywhere from six to ten hours. To us, that's no problem; we'll take a short amazing game over a long lackluster one any day.
A fast-moving experience that will be quickly finished by even the most novice gamers. I was able to get through the game in about seven hours and that's including the time I spent on side-quests (several completed to 100%).
Calling this shooter a GTA in a Wild West setting would not do it justice, as it serves up a thrilling experience with an engaging story and solid combat.

This game has aged in many ways but it's still fun and I can still easily recommend it if you are looking for a new cowboy game to play

Gun for The PS2 is an absolute classic. The story , the voice acting , the characters everything is just absolute perfect in this game and really shows you the Era of the "Old West". It's just perfect I have no more words to describe how amazing this game is although red dead revolver was also there for the ps2 and Xbox but I prefer gun over red dead revolver , but hey that's my opinion.

The first time you take someone's head off with a quick-draw move...you'll be hooked. [Holiday 2005, p.76]

Pelit (Finland)
Makes no excuses in its brutal retelling of a classic western story. The atmosphere of the gunfights is expertly created. GTA style free-roaming world fits the game well, and overall it is a magnificently fun, if a bit short, experience. [Dec 2005]

Graphically, Gun is one of those games that looks great for the most part, but does have a few rough edges that keep it from being in the same class as, say, "Resident Evil 4" or "Ninja Gaiden."

Xbox World Australia
The perfect consumable for those seeking some "Deadwood"-esque action. It's lewd, crude and, well, something that rhymes with those two words.

Talk Xbox
The main problem with GUN is its lack of multiplayer. The campaign is a fun-filled occurrence, but after you finish it in a few hours you'll be wishing you didn't drop fifty down for it.

Activities such as poker tournaments, capturing felons, gold mining, animal herding and hunting provide variety but their appeal is short-lived.

Why roam freely (when the game lets you, which is by no means always) when all that's out there to find is an empty trek between jarring episodes of production-line gaming? [Christmas 2005, p.105]
