Not anywhere near as good as Streets of Rage 2, which came out 20 years ago. That said, it's fun, and more importantly knows that it's outdated. [Issue#91, p.87]

Fine combat, badly balanced. [Dec 2012, p.103]

Nice resurrection of the classic fighting game will probably discourage many modern gamers because of its excessive difficulty. This one is only for the toughest. [Nov 2012]

A incredible game for the ps3 the combat can be a little difficult but once you dominate it the game is awesome and fun to play

A hilarious neon-lit spoof of 80's Saturday morning cartoons. This "Double Dragon" may not take itself seriously, but it looks and plays great. Combat consists of plenty of special moves and abilities which can be upgraded. The various enemy types are challenging. Only the final boss can be quite cheap. Overall, this is a fun beat 'em up that pays homage to past installments. I would rate it with a 7.5 out of 10.

This Double Dragon update features the aesthetic of a 1980's Saturday morning cartoon. It looks great and is a lot of goofy fun. Some fans of the original game may not care for the cartoon-style animation or the constant jokes. But the combat stays true to the spirit of the franchise. In fact, it almost feels like a spiritual sequel to the Super Nintendo's Super Double Dragon. Fans of the similar-themed Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon should have a blast with this. At only $10, this is a real deal for beat 'em up fans. I would rate it with a 7.6 out of 10.

Double Dragon Neon is evidence. Evidence that my misplaced obsession with a classic coin-op wasn't misplaced after all. It's proof for those who weren't there – or weren't even born – who believe themselves gaming experts because they remember when the first Deus Ex game came out.

Double Dragon Neon won't be for everyone but for those that grew up on the brawler genre and love the throw back titles, you will not be disappointed. Double Dragon Neon is a great example of rebooting a franchise and doing it right and for a measly 800 Microsoft points you can't really go wrong

One of the best XBOX 360 arcade games i've ever played. Fun, filled with 80's easter eggs, great humour, great gameplay and on top of that: Difficult. This game is for those who love good old Beat Em Up's like Final Fight or Streets Of Rage. Music is great...this game has the most 80s vibe than any else game.

Double Dragon: Neon is in an awkward position. It may be a bit too Double Dragon for today's generation to understand, yet not Double Dragon enough for hardcore fans to eat up. This is far from the long-awaited Double Dragon revival, but it's a great opportunity to revisit the Lee brothers (or to be introduced to them for the first time). Regardless, Double Dragon: Neon is a challenging, fun game definitely worth looking into.

Double Dragon Neon isn't the best reboot of Double Dragon series. This game is too short and has some control problems.

It's a brawler that's too focused on amusing you with 80s flair, and it comes at the expense of worthwhile gameplay. Double Dragon: Neon doesn't bother to keep up with contemporaries such as Castle Crashers, Shank, and Scott Pilgrim – and you should let it fall behind.

It has been a long time since I played a game where it was so obvious that the developers loved their game and its source material than Double Dragon Neon. This game, it's amazing sound track by Jake Kaufman and it's surprisingly deep brawler game-play warrants several play thorough to see and do all it has to offer. Whether single player or bro-op it's a hype experience from start to finish that never takes itself seriously.

I only played it for two levels, but I did not have fun at all. It is somehow worse than the original Double Dragon. Input controls are ambiguous. You'll try to pick up a weapon but will grab an enemy instead. The enemies themselves are annoying. There doesn't seem to be a way to reliably avoid attacks. Enemy attacks are fast, very difficult to dodge, and they'll shrug off your attacks, so you can't stun them with combos like most of these games. That might sound great to you in theory, but it really breaks the flow of combat. 2-D beat-em-ups aren't supposed to be that deep. This game tries to diversify the combat, but just end up making it a painful experience. Chalk it up to my own personal experience. It's worth a quick try to judge for yourself.
