Deus Ex: Breach is an innovative game that offers, for the very first time, an arcade approach on the gameplay of Deus Ex.

[Played on PlayStation 4] Breach is: how to ruin a nice and possibly challenging mode with the most horrible maneuvers to extrapolate money. It didn't matter to them. They managed to worsen the already delicate and controversial situation with DLC and microtransactions that involved the single player mode of Mankind Divided. If you are old enough, you can think to Breach as a similar Metal Gear Solid's "VR Training" mode. Yeah, it was challenging, right? It was quite nice, eh? Exactly. But unfortunately we don't live in 1998, anymore. Golden age of video games has ended in mid-2000s, so Breach is just a "product of its times", damned modern times. Anything in this arcade mode in fact could be good except for its monetary policy. Normal bullets for weapons are buyable with in-game credits earned going forward in Breach maps, but of course they aren't as useful as armor-piercing bullets which you can't buy with standard credits, but only with...."crafting parts", which are more, more, less given by the game. Or you can pay and buy AP bullets, with real money. Then 3 Praxis kit needed to gain a single skill, is something I don't remember to have seen in the single player mode, it's ridiculous, it's made to make you pay real money to get more resources. Servers' defense and other countermeasures evolve too violently, and the player often find himself against too exaggeratedly strong enemies or with too much malus points. Some servers have ridiculously exaggerated requirements which simply push you to hate the game, if you try to complete them without buying anything with real money - ironically, as it should be. And any result in Breach is permanent: you can't reload save file, you can just go on and take things as they are. Obviously you can also buy lethal weapons with which you can kill powerful enemies with one-single-shoot...with real money. With in-game credits you can buy and open random chests - oh, please, "opening random chests" in a Deus Ex game - but rarely you get the really good stuff you want or need. Breach is pay-to-win literally, although there is competition to get all objectives in the lesser time possible, to advance in the world's top list. Now I don't care about competition, but is clear how players who pay, have advantages. Only good thing is the maps (or servers) design that is well structured, deep, and engaging. Speaking from a purely gaming point of view, a great job was done. Even subplots (Darknet files) are very good, and the way to resolve them and the stories behind them are nice. The rest could have been saved, if there was not a pay-to-win policy and use of microtransactions. So, what am I trying to say? Breach doesn't want to be an hard game, to give gamers a real challenge - as could be "VR Training" in Metal Gear Solid - Breach wants to be an hard game, pushed to the limits of the acceptable, to force gamers, even the most skilled ones, to spend more money to buy power ups with real money. A racketeering worthy of the worst mafia, a symbol of dark times that afflict today's video games world. I played this mode to get my platinum trophy. And I damn earned it, I passed hell, without spending extra money. Occasions, however, didn't miss to make mistakes, to pay, and behind these occasions lies the sinister Breach marketing maneuver. But I didn't buy anything, I didn't give them any satisfaction. A waste of potential, time and a shame. Congratulations Square Enix and Eidos. [Clap, clap]

This is a pretty fun side-game for Deus Ex that's I've found to be more enjoyable than the main game. It's like a collection of mini-games where you try to beat each level and meet certain objectives. The big thing that ruins Deus Ex: Breach is that there's a paywall for special ammo. I'm constantly running out of AP and special ammo for weapons, and there's no easy way to restock them without paying with cash. Many of the harder missions require special ammo to take down enemies.
