Beyblade Evolution is a game that’s difficult to recommend to anyone, even die-hard Beyblade fans. After just a couple of rounds the game already bores as the monotonous, awkward bey-battles lack any atmosphere or real challenge at all. Perhaps very young fans may appreciate the representation of setting up a physical Beyblade set-up, but even then it will more than likely get old very fast.
It does look quite impressive and, at moments, some of the features are actually quite cool. Unfortunately, most of the game is underwhelming.

Where should I start with this game? ... Oh, I know, WHO CAME UP WITH THE IDEA OF BASING THE WHOLE GAMEPLAY ON GYROSCOPE MECHANICS?! That is to say, there are some mini-games that make good use of this mechanic and others that don't (which makes them halfway decent), but if we ignore this, we are only left with the main fights in which the gyroscope is not used very well. Let me explain it to you in a few words: In many fights it doesn't matter if you do something or not, because if you have a bit of luck you can win without doing anything or obviously lose without doing anything. The customisation of the Bey can change the movement style of the Bey a little bit, but it doesn't definitely change what I said before. Also, in the game you don't have much to do, I mean you do a couple of fights, play some mini-games, enter some tournaments and then... after that what do you do? In short, the game feels like playing with real-life spinning tops but with less interactivity. Without a doubt, this is one of the few video game purchases I've made in my life that I regret. 3.7/10

The controls are hard to master in the beginning. The story is unhandled and feel like a old gba game. The old gba beyblade game was better. Still there is fun to get here for diehard fans of the franchise, or even if you once liked it as a kid.

A bit of good fun that's let down by its ambition for innovation. Still, it's worthwhile if you're a fan of the series, but it's probably best enjoyed with the 3D off.

If you already have a Beyblader in the house, there’s a good chance they’ll like Evolution, but the learning curve is too steep for newcomers to get much enjoyment out of it.

Nintendo Life
While it makes the most of the unique functionality that the 3DS has to offer, it’s woefully repetitive and quickly becomes a monotonous affair. Beyblade fans may find enjoyment in its accurate depiction of the franchise’s universe, but that doesn’t disguise the fact that this is a flawed title that is clearly lacking in entertainment value.

Unless you’re a big fan of the franchise, I can’t recommend buying Beyblade Revolution, especially at its suggested retail price. Its deceptively frustrating, promising a simple video game replication of real-life Beyblade that resides nowhere close to simple, especially as you begin.
