Purely from a gameplay perspective, it’s the best first person battle royale title out there, and well worth dipping into a year on. It’s disappointing that Titanfall 3 seems further away than ever, but for now Apex Legends will do just as well.

Apex Legends spices up the battle royale formula with hero-based shooter pizazz and its revolutionary pinging system, which helps everyone feel welcome to the team. Though its Season One rollout has been disappointing content-wise and its visual flair remains bland, Apex Legends still has the solid foundation necessary for a free-to-play shooter to survive in the long run. And with 50 million players reached in its first month, it's not like it's slowing down anytime soon. We're all jumpmasters now.

Absolute garbage cash grab. How a game can survive 7 years being this terrible is a testament to gaming in the 21st century. 10x more effort is put into selling trash skins than is put into making the game playable. Worst matchmaking and hit regs in an online shooter, full stop.

The sbmm is non existent- it's an extremely sweaty game and not fun for casual players......

Gone downhill over the years. Too many legends, all new maps after olympus are just bad, and so on. Gets saved by the excellent winter express mode around christmas

If you have a PS4, Xbox One, or PC, you should really give Apex Legends a try. It’s managed to hit the ground running, with very little in the way of server issues or other hiccups after the first week. It’s clear Respawn has plans to support the title in the long-term, and the six Legends characters available from the start (with two more unlockable via in-game currency) provide enough variety to begin with. This will be the Battle Royale title I stick with for the immediate future, and I’m excited to see this game evolve over time.

Apex Legends is one of the more entertaining, beautifully balanced, and gorgeous games in the Battle Royale genre. The fact that it is free is delightful, and a good move by Respawn Entertainment. I hope they continue this trend with future updates. I may yet stay in this genre for a while because of this game.

Apex Legends is a mix of smart shooter ideas that makes for a competitive, team-based game that gets at all the best parts of battle royale while addressing a lot of the weaknesses. Respawn's intense focus on team play makes Apex more than just a worthy addition to the genre; it's an indicator of where battle royale should go in the future.

If I had to name the best battle royale, I’d easily say Apex without hesitation. Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of the genre, which explains my rating.

Too many cheaters have ruined this game, leaving little room to survive. I used to end the night with a couple Defender wins, now it’s just a prison sentence. Watching the replay in Deathmatch, you're jumping around like a clown, while the enemy's Triple Take lands every shot on you.
