Refunded. This is Lord of the Rings in name only, nothing else. Abomination to LOTR and Tolkien... Don't bother if have any interest in LOTR, glorified fan fiction but worse. Stripped of all its character to make a joke ****. Slow, torturous and grindy gameplay, farming is boring! Developers have no clue what they're doing! Positive rating on Steam but only 2500 reviews on Steam so most players had no interest!l in even playing. Gty most that refunded like me didn't even refund, I didn't either so why doing here.

I was very excited to at the thought of playing a 3D Megaman X inspired platformer. When I saw the trailer, due to simple pattern recognition all I thought was DEI inspired crap as my gut reaction. Slip pushed out by corps and disingenuous people who Destiny game.. Then I looked into what dev said about game, no red flags, watched more game and tried the demo, I could see th heart and love for MM, not a tourist trying to change it. What I got came across as uninspired much with areas that all look the same. WAY too many cutscenes that go on forever with bad dialogue and worse voice acting, and worst of all flawed gameplay. HOWEVER, Try the demo on Steam. I bought this game and am excited to see what dev does next as I hope learned a lot from it.

Lazy and Temu Truman Show story, with insufferable Millennial dialogues, characters and "humour", it's soo bad! I played this on launch on steam so this may have been fixed but I couldn't skip cutscenes, even after having finished the game, so achievement hunting is a pain. It does some things well. But ultimately, this is a game with narrative storytelling at it's focus. Problem is, the narrative lacks depth, logic and coherence... Some puzzles are great, some are slop, crazy such a wide discrapancy but when I thought about the writing after I played it all makes sense. SKIP... I regret my time with this.

Devs who had excellent artistic talent but not enough game design talent! Skip this game or watch a video to make sure can deal with gameplay, bugs. Played on switch and PC and both had different major bugs and issues. Even if this were working with the playthrough I watched it's a 6/10 and I'm being generous. Go watch's gameplay video for yourself and decide. Should have just made an animated film... Would have scored better.

Dev got account banned on Steam. They posted to their Discord & made it sound like an issue with Dev account application and would be temporary, just a little o'l clerical error. They also posted a completely different story on their Kickstarter. Both were a massive lie at worst or at best a post full of partial truths. Steam got a flood of complaints about the game infecting people’s PCs with a keylogger. Some people speculated it was something with the engine the dev chose to use flagging certain antivirus software. If that were the case, then why did they put out conflicting stories to different platforms? I was able to recreate the antivirus find with Windows Defender and Norton, both found Win32:keyloggerX. You should be weary of giving them money just because of the conflicting stories along with now years later the game is still not available on Steam and this dev account became permanently banned, not just temporarily. I saw one guy saying the ban was because of faking positive reviews, but Steam has plenty of past history where they don't permanently ban the dev account for a first offense, just a temp ban and remove reviews. I played for at least 5 hours back then on Steam and it was a decent game after the first game hour or so for what I played. It would have been a solid 6 or 7 out of 10 if it had continued to be a decent game all the way through and not for the above-mentioned junk. Steam even approved my refund even though I'd played it more than 2 hours when all this started going down with no argument or pushback. After this, I stopped paying attention till I saw it for sale on Switch just now. If it wasn't for the shady behavior, I'd say try it on sale, but after all this, just do your own research on this and decide if you want to give them money based on what you read. Only buy on a console if interested though. Do not buy it off **** or Epic for PC.

Any game that add censorship vs an original game that doesn't I will automatically drop it to a 5. If censorship exists in the original game and they just replicate it I'm still not a fan but at I won't punish the score in that case as it's still the original vision. I am dropping 2 points as this is barely a remaster, it's more If a port with the bare minimum amount of work done. They did no work on the camera for instance. Just a lazy cash grab made even worse by censorship that didn't exist in the first game. Censoring an older game in re-release is getting just as bad as translators in anime putting forward their vision or viewpoint instead of the authors. If you don't like what the original version of any media bc of "this or that" then you aren't actually a fan of it so stop gaslighting people and saying you are. Stop changing crap, I don't care if it's as simple as censoring female characters, once you start and say it's ok then next step is people pushing for even more censorship. There is nothing wrong with a male being masculine and a female being sexy in media, stop trying to change or hide human nature. The more they push for this the more I and others will pushback and complain about censorship. A good compromise is to make a toggle to turn off/on censorship for those that don't want to see something

Don't waste your time. Developer focused on other priorities and delusions instead of focusing on the DETAILS that make a good game, let alone metroidvania. There is a fine balance these take between the enjoyable amount of backtracking and excessive, this is beyond excessive and poorly designed. I'm a huge fan of metroidvania's and this one is less then mid, it's not a 9, 10 and not a 1 or 2. The main problem in the end is it's just not fun. This game has already dropped to $10 and that's what I paid for it and that was $8 too much. So many awesome recents Metroidvania's on Nintendo Switch or Steam like BladeChimera, Nine Sols or even Tales of Kenzera: Zau which are all superior in quality and fun and worth their prices.

What Have they done?! They took a beloved franchise and destroyed it with some of the worst English localization I have come across in a game I cared about in a long time. It completely takes you out of the game and it will age horribly as it's relying too much on current day terminology that won't be a thing in the future. It seems like it were localized by a high schooler, it's that bad! I had to stop playing the game b/c of this. I did like the combat though, fluid and fun so only reason I didn't give it a 2. It's a shame as the studio put in so much good work just to have it ruined by the localizers. If you're a person who doesn't care about story and just gameplay, turn off the sound, listen to a podcast or something and you will have a good time. If you're like me though and love the series or like a balance of gameplay and story then you should avoid, it makes you not even care what the story is about.

I was looking forward to this game. Ended up very disappointed & bored I actually regret not just buying it but also finishing it. I'm not the type of person who expects or wants something new in my games so I'm not knocking it for that but if it's not treading new ground then it needs to be interesting and do basics well. Was not interested at all.

Big fan of Sungrand Studio creator and been wanting to support him and his games. Came across this one first on switch. I liked this a lot even though survival games are very hit or miss for me. About to start SF: Ghost Busters next.

Annapurna has gone from publishing great games to utter trash. Don't bother unless you want a game that speaks down to you instead of telling a proper story.

Not many games are toxic but this meets the definition. Story is uncohesive, most of games feels like you're a passenger and you have no real choice in the game with dialogue. This might be the worst written game I've ever played, it's definitely a contender. I thought this was made as a spoof, kinda like the Scary Movie franchise but no, it's not and is meant to be serious about its point. The base premise of what would of happened if Jackie Kennedy was shot instead of JFK is at least interesting but none of the dev team were mature or good enough at their job to do anything worth while. Even if this were free I'd not recommend the average person waste their time on it unless you're a streamer and can get paid to play it. I want my time back.

One of my favorite Indie games the last couple years, I usually drop off gamesafter a while but I actually finished this, I don't do this for games that really hook me. This was made before games went to crap the last few years and everybody had to self insert themselves and their personal issues about the patriarchy or their past into the game instead of focusing on the gameplay. No false virtue signaling from marketing or devs this game, just a fun game. If you like indie2D action games give this a try, can often find on sale for $5 on many platforms and well worth it.

Somebody let Reviewer @JJ350 know this is Cybernator, just slightly updated, though not as much as I'd like. Solid game if like the old SNES game.

Runs ok on switch for me, I mostly play handheld on my OLED though. It's a very mediocre repetitive Metroidvania controls are frustrating at times which is my biggest issue. Maybe they should have given the money they paid to the useless consultant co SBI to more experienced developers who had more experience to make a better game. It's unfortunate as I really loved the look of this game and the story of the creator and was touched by it being a tribute to his father when I first saw him on the game awards. If you have this free on PS+ then worth a try otherwise it's worth about $5-10 on the Switch. Dozens of better Metroidvania on the Switch At all different price ranges. It is also Bad timing to come out right after Prince of Persia just dropped recently as it's a much better version of what this should play and feel like. Will support dev and try next game as long as he doesn't work groups like SBI again, I usually won't support games they are involved with.

This isn't the worst game of all time or anything but its biggest crime is being completely boring. With the games that use the photo aspect as its premise I couldn't stand this one. I wouldn't have finished it but I'm in a monthly game club where we discuss. This game is too busy trying to push a narrative instead of telling a well written story. Stick with Toem or Pokémon Snap, much better games, stories & those are actually fun to play

Watched my girlfriend play this as I really liked the art but knew game wouldn't be for me. She couldn't make it past 3 hours. We watched a YT video of somebody finishing it and this dropped what would have been a 5/6 down to the 2. The developer either has some major issues and/or hates men. The world isn't better by men not existing or not involved, which is what the story implies. The world needs men and women working together! Just another game pushing an overly simplistic narrative that has no clue how the world actually works! Remember when games pushed being fun over a message, or gasp was able to pull off both. If you don't know who are and dealing with mental health issues you could maybe get something out of this. I saw one reviewer state it pushes a feminist message and my GF disagreed with this strongly and laughed but I won't speak for her, asked her to write a review expressing why so we will see. If looking into for gameplay much better games out there. If curious, wait for a sale, you'll find this on massive discount ($5 or less) sooner rather than later, that's about what it is worth.

This game is stil just as bad, actually even worse going back and playing again just this last week, finally beat it and I want my time back. Nevermind all the Jeff Gerstmann and Eidos crap they pulled, thankfully they aren't a company that exists anymore.

This is a great game, it’s a solid 8/10, I watched my girlfriend play it and really enjoyed it even though I normally don’t like these type of games. I never would have touched this game if wasn’t for her. Game of the year -no, not even my favorite VN this year but definitely a no brainer if you’re an Otome fan. FYI… Take all the reviews giving this a 10/10 with a grain of salt, just like you should the 1/10s -some people go a little overboard. One part I liked was the similarity/referential to “Friendship, Effort, Victory” from Shonnen Jump. If you like Otome or maiden games this is for you, if you don’t then stay away as you will probably hate this!
