Blood of Zeus Season 2 effectively molds Greek mythology into a near-operatic exploration of family ties, romantic affairs, and power struggles. While the scope is a bit smaller compared to Season 1’s zoomed-out portrait of Olympus, there’s excitement in getting to more intimately know a flawed deity and siblings with diverging fates.
Heron has come into his own as the hero of Olympus, and watching him grow into much more of a hero than a confused lead who doesn’t know what he’s capable of. That makes for a much more exciting narrative overall, and now that we know more about Heron’s lineage, there’s so much more that can be done with the story’s direction from here.
Baby Reindeer is a nerve-wracking voyage that's hard to watch head-on. It doesn't pull any punches when it comes to heady topics like stalking, sexual abuse, and victimization, and it is an invaluable window into the experience of someone who has experienced these things in real life. .... This is one of 2024's must-watch shows, and it raises the bar for Netflix originals.
Velma Season 2 is an unfocused slog that fails to improve on Season 1. Flat jokes, bloated storytelling, and attempts at subverting expectations leave it feeling like an incoherent, unfunny mess while Velma and Daphne's now-canon relationship is relegated to an antagonistic afterthought.
Big Mouth Season 7 is still treading the same worn-out waters as it has across the rest of its runtime, and the only positive thing that can really be said here is that next season is its final set of episodes.
Castlevania: Nocturne is an exemplary way to take a popular game series and turn it into one of the most exciting animated adaptations yet. It remains to be seen the heights that animated Richter Belmont will reach, but we’re confident we’ll be left impressed.
This is the triumphant return to the world of Adventure Time fans have been waiting for, and it sets the stage for one of the most interesting concepts the show has seen in some time. Whether you’re holding out to see where your favorite heroes are in this timeline or how things will shake out for our new heroines, it’s well worth settling into every week as it hits Max.
Solar Opposites Season 4 is another round of madcap, nihilistic comedy that doesn’t stop at anything to make you laugh. It’s irreverent, foul, and unmistakably Adult Swim fodder that’s found a home on Hulu, but that’s part of what makes it so good.
Human Resources Season 1 was abominably bad, and this season continues the streak. There’s nothing wrong at all with even the most disgustingly raunchy comedy, but this series takes it so far beyond that it turns back in on itself in terms of how bad it is. Its characters are unlikeable, its story unentertaining, and its jokes unfunny.
Velma is an often funny take on the classic Scooby-Doo series with plenty of risqué humor. But it’s unfortunate that most of what makes Velma funny is completely unrelated to the character who gets a starring role.
