Doom's core appeal is in the gameplay: extremely fast paced, cconstantly switching to different weapons and moving around, it feels challenging, very satisfying and kinda unique when you compare to other FPS games. I loved it!
Celeste got me hooked since the first minute. I loved the art style and music. The platforming here is challenging, snappy and very responsive. It feels great. Gameplay-wise, the game is constantly introducing new mechanics which keeps things fresh and interesting. The story is also pretty good. 10/10 easily.
Blasphemous is a great metroidvania! I enjoyed the music, atmosphere and overall hard and strategic fights. The deeply connected maps are also impressive, and this game has a very interesting lore, although the story is told mostly through item descriptions, similar to souls games so you have to piece it out. For the issues: combat is slightly stiff/slow and i started to feel it got a little repetitive towards the end. Altough you unlock some abilities, i felt there wasn't a meaningful change to keep things fresh. I also haven't found that many power spikes or meaningful lore exploring the maps, so started to loose interest a bit in exploration too. Having said that i loved the game and plan on starting the second one too!
Wavetale has a very basic and repetitive gameplay loop. You'll be doing exact the same tasks you did at the game intro throughout the whole game. Go to point A, platform up, get something, go back. The platforming is very brainless and unchallenging, and combat feels like a total filler, you just keep pressing the attack button until e everything dies. The story is actually interesting, i like the relaxing music and surfing around feels awesome, but without the gameplay introducing any new concepts i got bored really quick and was unfortunately just counting the minutes to see the story ending.
