Based on E01 and 2 - better than TLOU with two stronger main characters but also suffers from being thin on content and secondary characters. E02 is too short, otherwise I'd rate it higher. Overall a weak effort so far due to basic production errors.

A good intro into some of the various factions involved, but I'd say mostly the wrong people. I'd also say that the body language of a few people says that they weren't being totally honest. Lying or just not being fully frank, I don't know. Will the truth ever be told? I don't think so, not unless the aircraft is found. Has there been deception? I think so. That deception could be even just making it look like someone is hiding something for the benefit of the tv show The show ignores some key events. Were those events looked at by the investigators or does the tv show just not bother to look at them? An experienced incident investigator would pick up on them straight away. I think the answer might be found by looking at what didn't happen. What does that mean? The show presents events that did happen. But if you are seeking to find a cover-up you look at what should have happened but didn't. Or look at what was there but no longer is. And follow those leads.

I really don't know what to say. It's just so abysmal. I'm amazed how lacking in creativity, in story-telling, in everything, that this episode is. It's mind-boggling. I am more convinced than ever than the creators of this series must live in some sort of parallel universe.

Now that series is over, what a flop it was. From a career perspective it's the production that you don't want to be associated with. If anything it was an extended trailer for the video game. A playthru of the video game is much better viewing by the way. This series could easily have been very successful by coming up with an alternative plot. I suspect that hiring the game designers as the writers was a mistake - the material needed a fresh approach. So I think in summary that is where this series came unstuck - it would be too much like hard work doing a good job and a lot easier to just produce a few low cost promos to boost video game sales, strung together posing as a tv series.

If only all historical series were this good. Great cast, great sets, plot twists and turns, great sound, great photography. I've only watched 2 of the 4 seasons so far. I can't see the high quality lasting for the last 2 seasons but season 2 is the best series I have seen in a long time..

Unwatchable junk. Written by a 10 year old? Disjointed. No protagonist. No goals, no objectives. Weak acting. Inability to stick to the original. Full of irrelevant scenes and stupid stuff. It's like a bad school play. My question is - who thought it was a good idea to make this crap?

Overall, should have been a lot better, a lot more atmospheric and a lot more witchering stuff. It looks as if the budget wasn't there. Too much Yennefer, maybe wrong casting. Not enough use of historic settings. Poor story-telling. Only 2 good episodes out of the 8. Non-humans wearing silly rubber masks and so on. Really bad sound production and use of depth of field. Not something I want to rewatch. Cavill and a few others were good. Overall, a mixed quality lukewarm effort. And the SJW stuff was grating. Faking it just doesn't work.

The most boring show I can remember. Even if there is no plot, some decent action scenes would have been good. Probably more thought has gone into writing this review than the show.

This series would have made a superb musical with a few Pirates of Penzance, Fiddler On The Roof or Johnny Tremaine songs. For example, after the first chase scene, if Sam Adams had sat on a roof-top and sung a song it would have been really enjoyable. I would not have been put off by the similarity to Assassins Creed or Hobbit Laketown chases, nor British soldiers in uniforms that looked as if they had been hired from a fancy dress shop. Silly chases, silly costumes, weak acting and the whole atmosphere of general nonsense would have been perfect for a musical. But it didn't work in an historical drama I am 100% serious when I say turn it into a musical. The Wizard of Oz cannons would be great in a stage show. But as an historical drama, it was woeful. Poor script, bad acting, disjointed camera work, no authenticity in military aspects, very little creativity. As someone said on another forum - Six hours of my life that I will never get back. I should have known better .........

I should have known what to expect when I noticed that Marco on the promo poster looked too much like Tyrion Lannister. So when the regulation sex scenes duly appeared I thought this will be Game Of Chinese Thrones. No such luck. As one critic wrote the first episode was poor, imo due to some very bland dialogue and acting. Sound was poor and there were a few meaningless scenes. Episode 2 improved a bit. Modern accents and some modern idioms crept in every so often which was jarring. The historical representation was bad. Cities hundreds of miles apart were just down the road. The Golden Horde lived in a few tents. Their horses, in reality able to run for a day without stopping, could not cross a small desert without grain. Water off a duck's back for Mongol horsemen. And would they have cared if half died in the journey? - not a chance. As with a lot of these films and series, a good chance lost to use historical re-enactors to increase immersion. OK, enough complaining about poor production quality. The real problem is lack of an exciting plot. There is no character build-up. All the characters are shallow, even Marco. And even the gimmicks were weak - with one exception - Tom Wu who was VG as Hundred Eyes.

Perfect casting except for the South African or Australia bit role in the Chinese restaurant, great location, plot keeps moving along and like Game Of Thrones, the dumb get killed. What else could you want? It's gonna be a tragedy if Lorne Malvo doesn't make it to Season 2.
