Day 1 Impressions – Beautiful, smooth, and fun. That alone earns it a 5 in my book.
I’ve played about 4 hours so far, and honestly, I’m really enjoying it. The world feels vibrant and alive—there’s clearly a lot of care put into the visual design. That said, you’ll definitely need a decent PC or a PS5 to fully appreciate it.
The story is engaging, and I love that you can tailor your playstyle to your preferences. Whether you lean toward stealth, direct action, or exploration, the game supports it all. It’s shaping up to be a very solid entry in the franchise.
As for the controversy around historical inaccuracies—I get it. But for me? I’m here to enjoy a good game and a good story. A game that’s 100% historically accurate might be interesting to watch, but probably not that fun to play.
For example, I also enjoyed Kingdom Remembrance—visually stunning, well done. But while I might rate it higher after watching a few hours, I couldn’t get myself to play past the four-hour mark. It didn’t entertain me the same way. I want to be immersed, not feel like I’m taking a history class.
Bottom line: Assassin’s Creed Shadows does exactly what I want a game to do—it pulls me in and makes me want to keep playing. And so far, it’s absolutely succeeding.
Honestly, I’d probably give it a 9.5 because no game is perfect… but since some people are throwing 0s at it for reasons that have nothing to do with the gameplay, I won’t be ashamed to rate it a full 10.
