Great little game, starts off a little basic on the platforming but picks up steam after a few hours and comes into its own. Graphics are amazing in places, soundtrack is brilliantly done. I think a sequel has the potential to really build on this one and hopefully that happens

Absolutely fantastic remake! Almost on par with the Resident Evil remakes which are fire. Graphics excellent, not quite REmake level but not too far off. Atmosphere is probably a step above RE, very creepy. Love this game! A must buy.

Wow. What a game! Did not expect anything much from this, I knew it was a "walking simulator" type of affair which wouldn't normally be my thing but being on Game Pass I thought I'd give it a bash. First thing, the graphics are very nice indeed. Quality mode is a juddery mess but performance mode is silky smooth and still looks great. The voice acting is on point, not your usual cringe video game one liners and wooden dialogue but actually great quality scripting and diverse characters. You care about the story and the characters from the first 5 minutes, and every line is delivered well. The atmosphere is excellent and the use of audio to build tension is also very well done. The "run and hide" sections are frequent and really get the heart racing at times. If I was to level any negative at the game it would be only its short length and also the fact that when carrying an item to throw, the B button is used for both crouch and drop item so you cant go from standing to crouching without dropping the item you are holding. But minor criticisms, overall this game is a real breath of fresh air and I cant wait to see if the developer can build on this for a sequel, maybe even breaking out into a combat based game in the same style.

I only found out about this game by reading negative launch articles stating it crashed a lot and had issues with deleting saves. The same day I downloaded the game to give it a try, there was a patch and to be honest apart from one freeze I’ve not had any issues with it in any other way in 20+ hours of gameplay. And it’s a brilliant game, was expecting it to be a try once and delete game but being a fan of xcom style games it’s dragged me in hook line and sinker. The thing I didn’t like about xcom (the base building, research labs and so on) is not a thing in this game which makes it even more appealing to me. Shame people have review bombed it for the launch issues although I do understand the frustration people must have had given it was wiping saves out after hours of gameplay!

I have no idea what some of the critics were playing, but this game is brilliant. The humour is on point constantly, you never get a dull moment. The graphics and soundtrack are too notch, really stunning. Especially the visual style. The frame rate hold up at 60fps with very few hiccups. (Series X)
There are light puzzles as you play through, which add to the platforming gameplay. It’s just a delight to play, and reminds me of a time back when developers took chances on concepts that were outside of the norms… not another COD clone or sports title. This is a smash hit and will be a huge cult classic. Play it and fall in love!!

I have always enjoyed AC games, this one however feels like a very bleak and depressing setting compared to Origins’ Egypt that I have been enjoying recently. I love open world games that are bursting with colour and life but so far AC Valhalla feels like a slog to carry on. Changes are not appreciated, you cannot tag enemies locations with your eye in the sky anymore which is a big let down. Side quests don’t give you direction you have to work out what to do yourself (which in theory sounds interesting but actually can be annoying as you wander aimlessly wondering what the game wants you to do) Also bugs. Several times I’ve had issues EG killed a guard only for the guard that was talking to him at the time to just wander off after point blank seeing his mate drop to the floor with an arrow in his face mid conversation. Really breaks the immersion of the game. I have gone back to Origins and will play Odyssey next as I didn’t get round to it. Looks like I’ll have more fun with that game than Valhalla which is a shame as I was really looking forward to this one.

I wanted to love this game so much, and at first I thought it was going to be a little gem as I enjoyed the opening hour or 2. But the game gives you very little direction in terms of finding specific things and sometimes you can literally be running round for 20-30 minutes ending up at the same door or corridor again and again just trying to find what it is that the game is expecting you to find. Some of the combat is great but other parts just feel like a button mashing mess of confusion. Remedy brought an absolute classic in Alan Wake, then a decent but flawed game with Quantum Break... then in my opinion Control brings them down yet another notch to the realms of mediocre. Wouldn't bother unless you like frustrating games that try to put more effort into being 'clever' and obtuse than they do intuitive and enjoyable.

Crackdown 39

This game is getting panned. But I think that tells a story really. Critics want deep games with complex skill trees, RPG elements, an engaging story. Crackdown isn't really for them at all. It's for people like me who remember when games were about fun and escapism more than the other things listed above. There is a basic story line but it doesn't really matter. This game is about shooting the heck out of everything that moves and collecting orbs. It's the gaming equivalent of the TV show '24' - pure exhilarating fun. What the critics are looking for is 'House of Cards' and this was NEVER going to fulfil that need. I have played a few hours and I really enjoy this game. Yes there is repetition but show me an open world game that doesn't have that. If you're the kind of gamer that loves collect-em-ups then likely the repetition won't bother you at all. I would score this game a solid 9/10

Absolutley brilliant game, only about 4-5 hours long for the main campaign but oh so sweet! I'm normally not great at HARD games, but this one is so FAIR while its being hard. It feels so difficult but at the same time you feel like if you concentrate and think, you can do it. This is because the controls are so precise and tight that you can't blame anyone else for smashing into that killer wall. Take a breath and focus, and you move on. Sit down and play the first 10 minutes. You'll know if it's for you at that point. The game is emotional, beautiful, difficult... but the sense of satisfation when you complete a really difficult part is unparalleled. Sweaty palm game!

Absolutely fantastic storytelling. Great atmosphere and graphics. Very fitting soundtrack also. The acting is great and the episodes in between gameplay really flow well and provide a nice interlude between gunfights and exploration. The movement of the main character can be slightly clumsy in places but that is such a minor point that I wouldn't dock points for it. 10/10 well done remedy!

Kinect Sports Rivals1

Poor. I bought it because I enjoyed kinect sports 1 on xbox 360, especially the bowling when friends were round. It had character and a bit of humour, plus little touches like when you get a strike it'd play various classic tunes like 'another one bites the dust' or 'jump around' ... I though this would be a development of that but nooooo, they have to turn it into some silly RPG type game with XP and levelling up, take out all the humour and music so it's just a straight-laced bore fest... The bowling is soulless and depressing, no funky music for celebrating strikes etc... The wake racing is kinda ok but limited in terms of appeal. Fun for 10 minutes or so.... Don't buy this, just play the original instead. Much more character and simple structure... How it should be. RARE, you've been a total let down ever since you started working with Microsoft.

Love this game. It reminds me and my mate of 'Outlaw Golf' we used to play all the time on the original Xbox, this is a close to a sequel as we're ever likely to get! Graphics are great for an arcade title, full HD and running at what must be 60fps, silky smooth. Not quite as humerous as outlaw golf but the mechanics of the game and the extra powerups/upgrades you can use are fun and really add to the game.

Fantastic! I was not expecting anything, I remember Giana sisters being some kind of rip-off mario clone from years ago. But the graphics and game mechanics blew me away. Fantastic game with some neat ideas that keep it feeling like a modern title. If you have any interest in platform games at all, you should love this!

Loved it on the Dreamcast and it has aged very well. Still every bit as relevant today. The style, the feel of the game is fantastic. This is what games are all about; atmosphere and a great fusion of style and substance. Sega hit the nail on the head with this game, it transcends the usual monotony of another generic shooter or sports title. Missing this (especially at the price this time around) would be a mistake for those that love games and gaming.

Chargin extra for characters after you have paid £40 for a game? Capcom, stop being so greedy. DLC is all well and good for a storyline based game, whereby you play 10 hours on the disc and then can download extra 3-5hour episodes to add on... but this just plain ****. Corporate greed means I will not be buying this game at all. Soul Calibur will do for me.

Absolutley exhilarating! Fast, furious and total chaos at times, the music is fantastic and the graphics and effects are superb. It can occasionally be frustrating when the enemy AI is aggressive, but if you choose the right car you can usually avoid this - the cars with poor handling are easily knocked off course, and it pays to use a car with a little less speed/acceleration but better handling and strength! But brill game, if you liked NFS: Most Wanted then you'll like this: It doesn't have a massive amount in common in terms of gameplay mechanics but the rush from playing is similar. Don't hold back: buy this!!
