VVVVVV10
May 4, 2017
VVVVVV is my favourite game. Terry has created an awesome challenging innovative indie game. Souleye has created the best music ever heard in a video game. 10/10, and I bought this game four times.

No Man's Sky9
Aug 20, 2016
I'm running the game on a PC with GPU about 50% under spec, and it's still playable. I like the game, a great variety of worlds to explore and animals to discover. It's not perfect, but it is extremely innovative and we should encourage and support it.

Airscape: The Fall of Gravity9
Oct 16, 2015
Airscape is a very challenging and rewarding platformer. This game has plenty of variety and some innovative gameplay mechanics to keep you interested, also a good soundtrack. Be warned, although it looks on the face of it like an easy casual game, Airscape rapidly becomes difficult. Few players will finish this game! Still, the game is excellent and has 90% "thumbs up" from people who bought it on Steam. (That's the "user score" you should be checking before you buy a game.)

Minecraft: Story Mode - A Telltale Games Series8
Oct 14, 2015
I'm playing Minecraft: Story Mode with my 8yo son, and we're both enjoying it. It's fun, it's funny, has a strong story and does justice both to Minecraft and Telltale's tradition of excellent story-games. I recommend this game if you 1. Like interactive stories in Telltale's style, 2. enjoy playing Minecraft. Other people should consider the purchase, but the game may not meet your expectations. Telltale's style is just about opposite from regular Minecraft. Minecraft is open-world, plot-free, unguided, all about freedom while Telltale games are like interactive movies with more movie than interaction. Also this game is very "family friendly" while the other Telltale games I've played are for adults. I'm a fan of both styles and find this game very enjoyable and worthwhile

Anomaly Defenders7
Sep 15, 2014
I'm enjoying this twist on the Anomaly series. Unlike some reviewers, I appreciate the chance to play with the Anomaly units from the alien point of view. While the "tower offence" style was innovative, I think it's even more innovative to suddenly switch the point of view in the final instalment of the series! The game is not quite so polished as previous Anomaly games, nevertheless I'm finding it very enjoyable. Kill the humans!!

Steel Storm: Burning Retribution10
May 20, 2014
I got Steel Storm a while back in HiB3, didn't play it much at the time, but thought I'll give it a play now. - I like it so far. It's a good fun and challenging game. - I really appreciate the dev's support for Linux. - The AI seems quite good, and the combat is fun and challenging. - I think it's was okay to ask players to give the game a good review or rating, and I so I'm doing that. - had a minor issue with framerate dropping to 6fps on one occassion. I think there's an issue with the AI getting bogged down in a certain situation near a ramp. No big deal - I killed the tanks with the rogue AI and the game sped up again. - I would tend to give this game 7 or 8 out of ten. Various trolls and ne'er-do-wells and outraged third-parties who never played the game have in my opinion unfairly given a score of 0, so I will give a 10. - A sarcastic "boo-hoo" for the people who got dizzy, didn't realise if you move the mouse quickly it doesn't make you dizzy? You'd have trouble playing portal or half-life, those games can really make you dizzy.

Voxatron10
May 19, 2014
Voxatron is a unique game, and it's good fun. The original debut on humble bundle included one awesome little adventure, and I was happy and satisfied with that. The latest version 0.2.1 comes with another adventure, and the promise of much more to come. Huge amount of user created content, of varying quality. Voxatron is not for everyone, but I have a totally good feeling about this game, so it gets a great score from me! Note: I guess this is still "early access", but good fun and worth playing already.

Chuck's Challenge 3D9
May 2, 2014
This is an excellent puzzle game from a grand master of game design. I don't see that the PC port is messy, it looks, sounds and works just fine. In fact I was impressed with the clean interface, and the graphics on "fantastic" are more than shiny enough. The game has a nice built-in editor, and we can play levels shared on the net, including a weekly challenge. The game has 97% approval on Steam, and deserves a better metascore. Highly recommended.

Girls Like Robots8
Apr 29, 2014
A fun, quirky casual game! Solve puzzles by arranging tiles for different people / animals / things, and try to maximize happiness. Girls like robots, robots like girls, nerds like girls, but girls don't like nerds! Nerds like robots, robots are indifferent to nerds... It's a little mind bending but good fun.

Great fun! Retro twin-stick arcade shooter. Delicious shader effects, music, sound, pixel-art, gameplay, powerups... Almost non-stop action, with a market of upgrades to explore between levels.
