"Blue Velvet certainly is one amazing film! With elements of surreality, satire, and dark humor, this is an unforgettable mystery thriller that has some truly haunting and memorable moments throughout. The sequence where Frank Booth beats up and screams Jeffery while the song "In Dreams" continues to play in the background is truly terrifying. This film manages to be funny, depressing, and horrific all at the same time.

Full of beauty and hilarity, this is a film that certainly isn't for everybody, but I definitely enjoyed it! There are so many great comic moments, as well as a wonderful emotional side. Watch the trailer, if you don't think it looks good to you, then you probably won't enjoy it.

This movie is absolutely astonishing! It manages to have plenty of humour as well as strong drama, while always being visually interesting (Paul Thomas Anderson is a genius filmmaker). I'd recommend the film to most people who can handle the explicit content and some of the tough subject matter. One of my new favorites!

Yes, this film is full of painful historical inaccuracies, and is one of the least historically accurate films ever made. But, this isn't really a historical war film as much as it is a revenge story, which pays tribute to **** cinema. Now, **** is never historically accurate, so there is no need for it to be. Now, this movie is absolutely epic! The film is full of long dialogue scenes, leading up to scenes of exciting brutality and violence. The lengthy dialogue is always kept interesting with comedy and tension. The climax is probably the best part of this film. Full of shocking unexpected twists and turns, very stylistic camera work and imagery, and fast paced, exciting action, it is truly a great scene. The film also contains a lot of great performances, especially the performance by Christoph Waltz, and has some great camerawork and filmmaking techniques. A masterpiece.

One of the great films. Disturbing, brutal, violent, and greatly engaging. Robert De Niro delivers one of the great performances of the 1970's, and Scorsese's directing and filmmaking style is absolutely brilliant. Deserving of all the acclaim that it has received.

"The Sixth Sense" is a very good thriller, but it actually is a bit more of a really bleak, dramatic film. The acting, direction, music, and execution are all very, very well done, and there are some extremely powerful moments throughout the film. Especially the ending, which is hinted out throughout the film perfectly. The revealing of the final twist (don't worry, no spoilers) is all over this movie, and, in that aspect, Shyamalan pulled off the ending in such a genius way. The script is so well written, considering the twist actually does work and make a bunch of sense. While there are some flaws, like how every single word people say is whispered and is ****...slowly. At times, it works and creates good atmosphere, but, at other times, it is just kind of annoying. But, after a while, you begin to just flat out get used to it. There are some scenarios in the film that feel like they would work more in a really, really dark comedy, and, I have to admit, there are a couple of unintentionally funny moments in the film. But, don't worry, the film doesn't have too many of those moments, I mean, there's way more great moments than bad ones. Overall, "The Sixth Sense" is a great horror film that is a bit more than just a horror film. Watch it, it has a very smart script and, on a technical level, the film is very well made.

"Trainspotting" is a quite wonderful film. It is both darkly funny at times, and also extremely sad at others. It is visually spectacular to look at,and all of the performances are very well done, especially the performance of Scottish actor Ewen McGregor. He plays a heroin addict who tries getting off the stuff, but is eventually addicted once again. the rest of the film is just a series of events, from the horribly disturbing and sad, to the very funny and entertaining. A must see.

This is an intense, entertaining, and truly great film that totally deserved the Oscar for Best Picture in 1991! This movie is absolutely amazing, and is brilliant in every possible way. The dreary, moody soundtrack by Howard Shore is astonishing, and all of the performances are brilliant! Anthony Hopkins is wonderfully creepy as the cannibal Hannibal Lector, Jodie Foster is great as Clarice, and Ted Levine steals every scene he's in with his slightly melancholy, mildly humorous, and quite terrifying performance as Buffalo Bill. "The Silence of the Lambs" is a disturbing crime genre that is masterful filmmaking in every possible way.

Wes Anderson is a heavily stylized director and those who hate his signature style should certainly stay away. I, personally, love the signature Anderson style, and this is a wonderful film. Although it has a few flaws, it is still a very great film, and it never feels the least bit lengthy or boring. It is always interesting and entertaining. Like any Anderson film, it is full of great comedic elements and great dramatic elements. Overall, it is one of the best films I've seen from the 2010s, and it is highly recommended to any Wes Anderson fan.

While way overlong, and a bit overrated, "Interstellar" is a pretty good film. There's strong performances, great special effects, and a lot of very powerful sequences, but it is nowhere near flawless. I'd recommend it for most moviegoers (especially big fans of science fiction), although, you'll probably be rolling your eyes at some of the cheesier elements, and will check your watch every now and then.

This is the movie that made me love movies. I started paying more attention to the technical aspects of filmmaking after having seen "Jaws", considering the fact that the film is full of incredible cgi-free special effects. The film should be appreciated by every moviegoer, even if they, personally, did n't necessarily like it very much. But, what's not to like? "Jaws" is an absolute classic! A constantly engaging art house film from Sweden, a country which has brought us plenty of great films in the past, most notably the films of Ingmar Bergman ("The Seventh Seal", "Wild Strawberries"). This film is a bit funnier than you'd expect, mixing some subtle, darkly comedic moments with a lot of very dramatic stuff.

This is a sad, sad film, but it is also hilarious! It is an extremely dark and cynical comedy that will make you feel almost depressed, but laugh at the same time. It is a hard feeling to explain, but I felt it. A lot of people will feel like this isn't a comedy in any way, but it is actually really funny, although horribly dark and demented. The mainstream will certainly hate this movie because it's too unsettling and too sad, but, as of now, it is my favorite Robin Williams film. If you don't like any of the following topics in your comedy, then don't watch this one: -suicide -death of child (by strangulation) -perversion -grief ...and so on.

This has got to be one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. It is a very darkly comedic satire that looks into some pretty tough subjects for a high school comedy. But, "Election" isn't really just a high school comedy, it is a look at a set of character who are, mostly, pretty pathetic people, who you both despise yet feel very bad for at the same time. Alexander Payne has gone on to make a lot more well received comedy dramas including "Sideways", The Descendants", and "Nebraska". I still have yet to see these films, but after watching "election", I'm sure they'll be spectacular!

Michael Moore. You either hate or love him, and the works I've seen from him ("Fahrenheit 9/11", "Bowling for Columbine", and this film) make me love him! Out of the films I just mentioned, I'm happy to say that "Sicko' is my favorite. It gives the viewer a funny, yet tragic look at the horribly flawed health industry in America. People share horrific stories of their experiences with health care, and Moore also travels into 4 different countries, and shows the superiority of their own health care systems.
