Solid adaptation. The male actors are the weakest points (John Malkovich and Keanu) , and it misses a couple of the important character aspects from the book here and there, but I was mostly satisfied.

Between Two Ferns: The Movie2

I've always considered the web-series brilliant, so this is a terrible let down. The 90% of the film that isn't the celebrity interviews is mind-numbingly generic, and embarrassingly lame. Just spend 15 minutes and fast forward to each interview, and also watch the post credits.

Builds suspense well enough, but the ridiculous implausibility of the plot kills the experience midway through. You may get a laugh at least, but it will be AT the movie, not with it. Idiocy.

This would probably be enjoyable for people still in high school, but it's just not going to engage anyone much beyond that point. The story is trite, and the only draw is the possibility of relating to the characters, which is unlikely if you're older in this case.

Rests entirely on the visual experience. There isn't anything else to it. I'm very patient with films, but felt the urge to skip ahead since I simply didn't care about the main character, and there was no story progression.

Spirited humanism at it's best! It's been years since I was so inspired by a film. There are flaws, but the experience is fantastic. Who's to say what the human race is capable of, or what existential threats we may face? Possibilities are endless.

Into the Woods1

Mindless, aimless, plot points and inane moralizing songs strewn together at random, for what seemed like 4 hours. One of the stupidest movies I've seen in years. Please don't waste your time.

All my favorite critics LOVED this, yet it was one of the most boring films I've seen in years. I like old literary figures: that's not the problem. Every character, especially the historical figures, were gross caricatures. It's safe to say Woody Allen doesn't know or care much about these people, beyond their wikipedia entries. The story was dumb, and the dialogue was on the level of an original high school play.
