The Last of Us didn’t need a sequel, but when one was announced, I was cautiously optimistic. There were so many directions they could take it it. They didn’t take any of them. Joel and Ellie were what made the first game so special, and getting rid of that left the hollow shell of a story that is told by this garbage sequel. The game gets top marks for visuals, audio, programming, level design, and every other technical aspect. But the sloppy, convoluted, depressing story that goes nowhere and leaves the player completely unsatisfied at the end ruins the entire experience. The first game is one of my favorites of all time. This disappointing sequel is one of my least favorites.
Like the rest of the fates games, I like the mechanics. However, the story in this one is really dumb and a lot of the maps are too gimmicky. The other two dates games are much better unless your priority is shipping all the characters from both sides.
I think this game sets the standard for how an NES remake should be done. The updated art and voice acting along with new characters and features breathes new life into the game. Sometimes the map design shows its age, but other than that it’s a captivating adventure.
I love this game! It was my introduction to the Fire Emblem series. In hindsight I realize that it was unbalanced compared to other games, but it’s a lot of fun regardless.
The Last of Us is a testament to how a video game can elevate an otherwise fairly average story. Joel and Ellie and their relationship are the heart of this game and allow it to be more than just another zombie cover shooter. It’s a must play for any PlayStation owner.
I personally prefer the more linear Marios, but there’s no denying that this game is a modern masterpiece in every way. The animations are lively, the worlds are well designed, and Mario’s move set is a ton of fun. Great game.
As someone who played the original, this is a lovely remake that captures the spirit of the original! It is a little expensive for what you’re getting and there are occasional frame rate issues, but it’s still a great addition to any switch library.
This is my favorite game of all time. The sense of exploration, the atmosphere, the characters... everything drew me in more than any game ever has before or since. Absolutely amazing.
