If you liked Malick's previous films, you should enjoy this one too. The movie is slow (no surprise) but it beautifully tells the story of an ordinary couple trying to figure out what to do when the **** come calling. I often think of the millions of people faced with similar dilemmas during WWII. Kudos to Malick for bringing this story to life.

A very smart, funny, and oftentimes touching film. Great performances throughout. I was hesitant going in because of the subject matter. That turned out to be unwarranted. Highly recommended!

Yet another beautiful, well-crafted film from Almodóvar. It may seem a bit slow to your average moviegoer but I enjoyed every minute of it. Kudos to Antonio Banderas, Penelope Cruz, and the rest of the wonderful cast. Well done!

Witty dialogue, good acting, and set in Paris (always nice). The film was enjoyable from start to finish. I would have like a bit more drama but c'est la vie!

I went into this movie fresh (had no idea what it was about). I noticed that critics were praising it, so I figured I would give it shot. Long story short, wait for it on Netflix. There are a number of uncomfortable scenes, and the lead character (who I really wanted to route for) was unlikeable. Exactly how this movie is currently scoring a 90 on Metacritic is puzzling to me. If you want to see a really good movie about teenage angst, I recommend Welcome to the Dollhouse. In my opinion, of course, this is just one more example of how average movies today are now considered great (La La Land, Moonlight, etc.) because everything else out there stinks. Oh how I long for the 1970's!!

A beautiful slice-of-life film. Willem Dafoe is excellent, the lead ladies are great, and the child actors really carry the film. And I normally get annoyed with child actors! If not for a couple of inconsequential scenes that could have (and maybe should have) been left out, I really enjoyed the movie. Kudos to everyone involved with the project!
