You create a custom pilot with a few preset skill choices or even go with no presets and choose skills as you go. you also get to choose the size of galaxy you want to adventure in. there are 3 main storylines plus a 4th with the expansion. The story is decent with some funny bits, more-so in the fanatic storyline. overall it's a space shooter, with RPG elements that include skills and character progressions. set in a sandbox **** with random missions and a number of storylines. you can be a miner/trader or a fighter/bounty hunter or even all the above if you devote enough time to developing your character. there is a bit of a level grind but not much different than any other shooter or hack 'n slash type game. modding is real easy (xml and javascript), with near limitless possibilities when it comes to all the things that can or could be added to the game.

Amazing 2D story driven sandbox game, similar to terraria but you are able to explorer a limitless amount of planets that have a very wide variety of creatures, biomes and landscapes. with a lot of hidden dungeons and treasures to find, even recover old artifacts from fossil locations. You can meet NPCs that are interested in being a crew member of your ship that will help enhance your team if you choose to have them along or just leave them on the ship to continue to enhance your ship in various ways. a lot of random side quests can be gained from the various NPCs that dot all of the planets. Build anything like you can in minecraft but with a lot more variety of block types and furnishings to add a lot of appeal to the decor. then you can add people to each building or house and create your own civilization. with the update of 1.2 you are now able to terraform any biome into whatever biome you like. there seems to be more updates to come and more fun to be had in the coming months and years.

It has a lot of unique creatures and various other unique elements to the game. Fantastic graphics and animation. Much like many MMOs it has taken the tried and true features of other MMOs and thrown in a few of their own. Lots of high impact and flashy combat, with a very engaging combat system. The combat system is much more twitch based, with an active targeting system similar to that in Guild Wars 2, but this game gives you the interface i wished GW2 had. nice cinematics, with the melodrama eastern games are known for and good voice overs. There is a nice mini expansion set for later 2014, which includes new dungeons, raids and a new class. The item mall is mainly for aesthetic purposes, it's not a pay to win sort of game as of yet. One of the best free to play on the market.

Torchlight II10

At least it is better in every way from the original and even better than that of D3. Each class has various different paths it can go because the skills allow for various types of builds. ie. Dual Wield or 2 Handed weapons or fist weapons etc. even some skills are for specific magic elements to increase the damage of ice, lightning etc and to increase their effectiveness. The greatest part is how random each game is and how each play through will be different from the last. Making this the most valuable game in a long time. What's more is once the Torchlight 2 editor drops then there will be a ton more content to be had especially if it is anywhere close to the original. Graphics are very stylized but amazing and fun to watch. The animation is really good as well. This is by far one of the most addictive action RPGs in a long time, since D2 or even the first Torchlight.

Aside from Asheron's Call this is yet another one of those very unique MMOs that exist and I have gone back to numerous times to see how things have been going. This game is great fun especially for sci-fi fans. If you want to do something completely new and different from what is so re-hashed out in many MMOs today then try this one. The graphics aren't the greatest, it came out in 2002. but soon should look amazing with the game engine upgrade. And honestly I can't wait for the game engine upgrade. Once they get it up and running I will definitely be back playing.

Asheron's Call10

One of the greatest MMOs of all time. It is the most unique and the most fun out of any MMO that has come out since. Graphics may not be all that great now but they were pretty great back when it first came out. There will never be another like it. It will always be a memory that I cherish. Even tried playing it again with a newer system and game wouldn't play at all. I've even thought of building an older computer just to play again.

They just keep getting better and better... Best true RPG of all time. Full out freedom to do what you want as you want to do it. No need to follow some hand fed story and just holds your hand the whole time through that has no replay value. This game has tons of content and things to do that sometimes you even may forget what the main story is about until a dragon swoops in and starts killing people while hunting after you. The gameplay keeps getting better with each new game. The new character development is fun and engaging. Don't really understand why they got rid of the stats but overall I guess it wasn't that important to begin with. Considering it is mostly all skill based anyway. Tons of replay value especially with fun community made content. Can't really get much better than this series.

Amazing game, I really like Bioware's ability to pull you into a really well written story. The combat and animations are really great as well. Lot of fun stuff to do after you finish your main storyline. Each class has it's own main storyline that is different from the rest. Which is really nice so that you don't have to feel you are doing the exact same thing over and over again. This has always been one thing that MMOs have failed on. This game makes recent MMOs look silly, it has more depth and shear content than any game from launch. Once you hit max level and finish out your storyline there are planet and alignment story lines to do as well. But it's way more fun to make a new character and go through another story line. This is the first MMO since Asheron's Call that has made me want to play more than 3 months. Most others I usually quit out of boredom and come back to check them out from time to time. This one is very solid and has lots of things to keep you interested. It's equally accessible solo or in a group which is great for those with a busy life and don't have much time to play a lot. The only time you really need a group is for the heroic content or when trying to do hard mode. Will play this for many years to come as long as it stays this enjoyable.

I think Blizzard was confused when they developed this game, because of the online requirement just for the single player side of things is down right silly. I shouldn't have to log into a server to play a single player game. Mediocre story, dumb down character development, the only thing worthwhile is the animation and updated graphics. other than that it's overall not what I would have expected. Torchlight 2 must carry the proverbial torch I guess... haha at least they have a much better character system.

The Bard's Tale8

I love this new spin on Bard's Tale, I played all of the old PC games from the 80s and they always had some humor involved but this one topped them all. It was very enjoyable and the endings are cool and funny. This is a nice break from the cliche. It is good for one good play through, just make sure to save it towards the end so you can reload and see both endings.

Awesome game, It ties in story elements from the first one real well and makes a nice continuation of the original. Great story effecting elements Bioware has crafted into all it's newer games. Great story, Great gameplay and Great character development options. Not much else I could want.
