So they get stuck on a ship... but luckly they have these mindswap stones so they can still communicate with Earth and get some advice (but really the SG HQ constantly **** them over)... and they choose to use these stones to **** their loved ones on Earth, in a different body, and the owner of that body doesn't know about it, WHAT THE ****!, and more over why is this insane criminal behaviour never addressed? This is something I would expect from a hentai, not a legitimate tv show.
I'm not against dumb=funny even though it's kinda cheap, but at a certain point it's just too much. Every single character is some sort of a moron: a Karen, husband with humiliation kink, an idiotic bilionare, head of customer satisfation being half HR and half twitter addict. The only smart person on the entire ship has terrible social skills, because of course he does. TL;DR a bunch of overused stereotypes trapped in a painfully unfunny comedy.
I mean it's watchable, sometimes even entrataining, but mostly silly and dumb. The show starts with a good 2 episodes of worldbulding /characterbuilding and then devolves into an episodic television, no stakes, no change, no progress, no plot. You could watch the first 2 episodes and then skip to the last one (which tbh is just a setup for the next season) and lose nothing.
Overall I think this show is pretty much Avatar. Beautiful fauna and flora that just kinda exists without any apparent reason. The more you try to think about the plot, the more you realize there is none. Things just kinda happen and have no longlasting impact. There are some gore scenes, but our main characters never get hurt despite the combat scenes clearly showing they should be. Also the woman is talking to the robot like it's a person, giving it free time, asking if the robot is still upset... wtf?
Honestly the more I know about the characters the more I hate them, except for the captain, that guy is fine. The fauna/flora acts as a magic, solving everything the writers need it to without any sense of laws or limitations.
What happend to this tv show? I though it was about big guy stumping everybody else and occasionally one of the side characters shows up to help him, great season 1. I'm 1 and a half episodes in and he still didn't stop crying, some random flashbacks I really don't care about. Also out of all the side characters to keep into s2 did it really have to be her? Every time she was on the screen in s1 the show turned into a **** measuring contest.
The only TV show that consitently managed to hook me by the first few episodes only to crush my hopes with the endings... every single season... is this what abusive relationships feel like?
I have never liked this show, but recently I have either became senile or bored enough to like this. It's still not great by any means, but there are decent bits here and there.
It's really sad to see what this show has become. S1 was incredible. S2 started well, but turned out to be quite poor without any major revelations and characters all across the board lost like 20 IQ points. Also the ending was one of the most **** things I have ever seen. S3 started even lower than where the S2 ended a somewhere in the middle of the second episode I just couldn't watch it anymore. If the other reviews are anything to go by, I dodged a bullet.
This show literally sceams at you that this is made for young girls. Nothing wrong with having a show targeted to specific gender, I watched both Divergence and Hunger games and still liked it for the most part. However, there is just something so insulting about this show. It's not one single thing, but rather a collection of poor writing, casting and directing decisions that make me actually mad while watching this. No exposition for establishing the universe; everybody is 20 something and hot; the sets look russian, but the people act and talk like british, the heavy dose of 21st century social morals doesn't help it either; everything just looks so clean; so many side characters; everybody is so naive and so dumb...
Best Star Wars TV show Disney has produced. There are plot lines that are either stupid or poorly described. Filler episodes isn't really the right name for this since these episodes are great at establishing new characters and motives, but still nothing really happens in them. Also stammering robot... wtf?
How can I say this... It looks cheap af. Master Chief is a ****. The terrorist's daughter is insufferable. The fight scenes are dumb and the braindead spartans are "special" forces in a very different way. I think I will leave the show here, at the end of the first episode.
What happened to this show? Did Barry managed to kill the writers as well? You can't take a goofy comedy and turn it into something serious. This show was a mix of funny goofy situations with few mediocre serious moments to drive the plot forward. Now it's just those mediocre drama moments.
Starts as a very good comedy. Reminds me of a show called Lucifer, where the main character also had a secret that nobody could know about. Unfortunately, just like the mentioned show, after the secret was uncovered the it turned into garbage. I laughed two times during the last season.
Barely watchable. Barney is the only person who is funny, rest of them seem to forgot they are acting in a comedy. The main character (the architect) is a moron. None of his decisions make any sense, he just goes wherever his **** guides him. For a person who is looking for a long term relationship, it's a very poor strategy. This show made me question my sanity more times than it made my laugh, not what I'm looking for in a comedy.
It is definitely an improvement over the first season. The story is much more captivating and the dialog has improved as well. The jokes are still poor and female Loki is even more frustrating than in season 1. 7/10 is an average for the enitre season since it starts well at about 85% and it slowly falls to 60% by the last episode. The final felt incredibly underwhelming and served as a setup for next season, very sad.
Another great season, this time the shaking camera is either gone or I just got used to it idk. Gaius Baltar completely lost it. The religious themes are a bit too frequent, there isn't a single character that is a non-believer (it's becoming a show about 2 religious fanatic groups trying to genecide the other). The last 2 episodes were a hell of a ride and made me question if I want to finish this series or leave it here.
While this series has several of the best episodes of the entire show, there is also several misses. By that I don't mean they are unwatchble just lower than the usual standard.
As a sci-fi enjoyer I was suprised that I have never heard about this. Now that I have seen the first 30 minutes I understand why. The CGI looks cheap, dialog is atrocious, why because between every sentence there is a solid 3 seconds pause. It's like "What happend to you?" [two people staring at each other], [zoom on the guys face] [return back to the previous sceen], [sunshine bloking half of the screen, blinding anybody who tried to watch this show at night], "I don't know". It's almost like if they had 30 minutes of dialog an had to stretch it to fit the 90 minutes. Obviously every scene without a dialog suffers from the same problem. Example: a random definitely crazy mother holds her crying baby, of course we have to zoom onto the baby's face to confirm yes indeed it is a baby. The same scene is then repeated 2 minutes later... This is not a show for normal viewers and I struggle to believe it's for the critics, since there is not enough virtue signalling.
This show is nothing special. I can't compare it with other anime (haven't seen them). By western standards it's mediocre at best. The overall plot is alright, but it's stretched so thin (especially after 100th episode) that you almost forget that it exists. Characters are exactly what i imagine generic anime characters to be. The dialog is atrocious. It's also extremely repetetive. Every time a girl says "omg, he is so powerful, how can i beat him?" i skip the next 30 seconds because she manages to say it 6 different ways before the plot moves forward. Nobody dies in this show. Literally nobody. How am i supposed to care about anything when every single "good" character has plot armor so thick he can barely breathe. While watching this do yourself a favour and use the right arrow key every time you feel like the characters are going to say something they have already said thousand times. Although the episode is 24 minutes long there is about 15 minutes worth of content (on average). For all its downs the show is still captivating.
