This is one of the best pinball games you will ever play. I love nearly every table and the ball physics are great. Best table: The Tales of The Arabian Nights I did get bored though, because once you complete the challenge there isn't much else to do. Also some of the table goals are near impossible, but I'm up for the challenge :)
What an amazing game. Somehow they have managed to merge best parts of free roam racing games and the fantastic simulation of forza games into one. In singleplayer there is so much to do and none of it is tedious like other games can be. The cars drive really well (as expected). This game is a must have. The online is the weak link, however and that is why I am giving it a 9 and not a 10.
It had a lot to live up to didn't it? I loved Halo:Reach and I give it a 10. I am giving Halo 4 a 9 and here's why: Campaign: The campaign in reach was its weakest feature but it is one of the strongest in Halo 4. 4's campaign is more imaginative, longer and is much more fun to play. The Campaign is up to the CE's standard and will not disapoint fans. 10/10 Spartan-Ops: I will overlook the fact that it is a rip off from COD. S-O replaced firefight which really annoyed me because firefight was fun. S-O is not as bad as I thought it would be because it ties in with the campaign and the missions are short. The only issue is that you re-spawn, no checkpoints etc.. This makes S-O slightly pointless, however I would not get rid of S-O, I would just bring back firefight as well. 9/10 Multiplayer: 343 said that there were going to be changes and they were right., However, almost every change has made it worse. On reach less was more. 343 have thrown that out of the window and created gameplay that is too fast and frankly just boring and repetitive. On reach it felt like every game had a story and every game game slowly developed, where as now games are boring and too fast. There have been too many new features and too many classic features have been removed. 6/10 Forge and Custom Games - There are three forge world's - great idea. However none of them are big enough! This also means that custom games is not as fun. Also where did the race game type go? I have given it a 7 because these are still unique parts of halo and forge is really good. There's just not enough space. 7/10 Other features and website: Waypoint is still good, the armour is as good as reach's, the commendations have improved the theater and file share are still good. The new website isn't as good as **** though. 9/10 Overall halo 4 retains many features that make halo amazing and also the campaign is second to none. Unfortunately 342 have included too many new things which have ruined parts of the game. All of my scores added together and divided by 5 equal 8 but this game deserves a 9 because it is still an amazing game. There are just too many annoying features that detract from the beauty of halo.
I bought blur and split/ second and I can tell you that the latter is by far and a way the best. I just love the action and thrill that the game brings. This game requires not only driving skill but it also requires forward planning and tactics in order to secure a win. You will love getting to know each track and the big power plays that come with them. Online is frustrating because everyone is so good but that was inevitable. In response to the rather critical review below I would say this: Yes the game is hard but not as you describe. With determination and effort you can complete it (the achievement for this is ranked my most valuable on the website true ****). The only criticism I have is that detonator is too difficult and boring anyway(it's similar to time trial).
Some hardcore fans out there will be disappointed because the first of FIVE map packs contains only old classics. But if you've never played these maps before, like me, then this map pack is very good. Four great maps with new weapons and vehicles, and there is a new addition, assignments, which are great too. I would recommend this map pack and is as good as the game, even if the map pack can get boring sometimes. The maps: Sharqi peninsula - A great map for rush and conquest. Is diverse enough for different tactics. 9/10 Wake island - I find this one pretty boring, mainly owing to its shape. However it works well for rush. (Also it is a real US territory in the pacific!) 7/10 Strike at Karkand - An epic map for rush conquest and team deathmatch. This one will have you hooked. 10/10 Gulf of Oman - Saved the best till last - One of the best conquest maps I have ever seen. The big battlefield style with a multitude of vehicles will draw you in to this beauty. 10/10
A great game to play. I don't usually buy arcade games but this game has everything i'd want - An amazing collection of puzzling levels and my own music playing on the level. Love it.
I gave each map a score and then got an average for the map mack score. Overall a superb map pack: Battle Canyon/ Beaver Creak - 9/10 - An amazing close quarters map that has halo written all over it. Outstanding. High Noon/ Hang 'em High - 5/10 - Lets the map pack down. The original was so good so why did they change it so much? Still a good map though. Damnation/ Penance - 7/10 - A good map but fairly average compared to the others. Ridgeline/ Timberland - 8/10 - A classic Big Team map that is still great. Solitary/ Prisoner - 9/10 - An incredible close quarters map that plays brilliantly. Instillation 04 - 8/10 - A good firefight map that is built well. Headlong/ Breakneck - 10/10 - The only Halo 2 map here and you can understand why. Was superb then and still is. The best Halo map ever.
I loved the Noble Map Pack so much but I was disappointed with this one: Condemned - 5/10 - Looks like a great map and is built well but plays very badly. The map is confusing and it turns into a chase around the map. The only redeeming feature is the spectacular view that one of the windows has. Highlands - 4/10 - Looks like a superb map that you might find on Halo 2 but in fact turns into a frenzy around the teleporters. The middle of the map is unused and that is down to poor design and poor weapon and vehicle inclusion and placement. Unearthed - 7/10 - A good Firefight map that plays well, looks good but lacks opportunities for tactics. On the whole a good map.
A fantastic map pack. I will review each map: Anchor 9 - 8/10 - You get what you see with this one. A great close quarters map that includes a cool low gravity area, although this area wasn't as good as it was supposed to be in my opinion. Overall the map plays well but a lack of weapons means there is a lack of tactics. Don't expect miracles with this one but do expect a well constructed map that plays well. Works best with: Slayer, Oddball and King of the hill Best played on: Team Slayer, Team Objective Breakpoint - 9/10 - A very good big team map that offers different tactics and a good balance of weapons/ vehicles. Fans of big team should love this. Also it works very well as a great invasion map. Works best with: Slayer, Snipers, Invasion, 1 Flag CTF/ 1 Bomb Assault, Territories and Rocket Hog Race Best played on: Big Team Battle, Invasion, Team Snipers Tempest - 8/10 - When your told that this is possibly the best map ever for objective gametypes you think, I don't think so and objective games are rubbish anyway. But it is just that. This map works for anything apart from slayer and therefore I think it is a brilliant map. It remind of high ground and last resort from halo 3. You will be amazed. Works best with: Any CTF or Assault game types, Rocket Hog Race, Headhunter Best played on: Team Objective, Multi-team, Rumble Pit
My first COD game and I will not be buying another one. I was expecting an intriguing campaign, great effects and graphics etc. and an outstanding multiplayer experience that would have me hooked for hours. Instead I got an average campaign that I have yet to complete, mediocre graphics and a multiplayer experience that left me feeling abused by 'sweats' and I didn't enjoy it one bit. The success of this franchise is built on past games. Incredibly disappointed.
Not as good as bad company 2 but not far off. The campaign is boring and unoriginal but it's the multiplayer where once again battlefield succeeds. The different classes will give you hours of fun and new tactics. It is an addictive game that you can play however you want. It also has jets but most people struggle to fly them and/ or earn points with them. Also some of the maps are quite boring but that's down to your play style. Overall a great multiplayer experience but it lacks an engaging campaign.
I too have the playstation 2 version. This game is still easily better than most 6th generation games released now despite no online and limited graphics. It is such a simple and unique concept - every player sees the same screen, get too far behind and your eliminated. The single player will have you hooked for hours but it's the local multiplayer that stands out - battle against 2-4 friends (and AI). Other highlights include the 6 racers personalities, variety of maps and vehicles, range of weapons, the scoring system and the ability to make your character speak and offend the other racers. Fans of any game should like this. This is certainly a forgotten classic.
Truly outstanding. A very challenging but innovative game. The storyline is gripping and interesting and the gameplay is fantastic. The game will have you scratching your head for hours on some of the levels. Once you master the art of free-running, you will then have to master combat - and just because you've played COD doesn't mean that you'll be a natural by any means. Oh and not forgetting that intelligence and problem solving are the main skills required. These three things mean that you will be playing it for hours but when you complete it you will be over the moon - a feeling that few games give you anymore. The missions aren't too repetitive and most of them have their own adrenaline pumping section as well, whether its **** or cranes, the game will deliver on realistic situations that will have your heart breaking out of your ribcage. Aside from the story, it has a few other features to keep you going that are equally as challenging. The closest it gets to multiplayer is a leaderboard but not all games need online do they? The realism of the story and the city is second to none because the city looks realistic but you can also see that it is in the future and you can also sense that the city is ruled by a dictator. A game that I would recommend to anyone who takes gaming seriously and to anyone who wants to feel a sense of achievement at the end ****. It deserved to win all the awards that it got.
Great war game. The multiplayer offers endless opportunities with 4 different classes, loads of maps and 4 gametypes. You will get addicted. The campaign is weak though.
As good as the previous Halo's. The campaign is clever and engaging, but achievable even on solo legendary. Multiplayer is yet again outstanding. Any halo fans need this game. I just wish that they hadn't replaced some of the weapons with worse versions.
I want my money back. This was boring and too difficult, it was all rubbish. I can see why other people like it so that's why I gave it 4. As for the online, I wouldn't bother to be honest, and I think even fans will say that.
This is a million times better than the sims 2's released on consoles. It's more realistic and has endless opportunities, and YES, you can have babies! The town is great, customising you house is much better. Generations and ageing add a great touch, I would recommend putting you life span on long or normal because epic drags and short and brief are just too short. I reccomend exploring all aspects of the game, lets just say that having keen gardeners, cooks and fishermen can be the key to immortality, providing you have a spare $10,000. A great game that I would recommend. The socialization is still poor and I was disappointed that you could only have 6 sims and only one family.
