This would've been the best Pokémon game if they just gave it a year or two more to cook. Pokémon deserves to be an open world game more than any other series almost but all the weird glitches kinda ruined it. Plus the champion was lackluster. The story was really cool though and the rivals are super fun. First Pokémon game I haven't thought about replaying though
Really great prequel to what was already an amazing game. Playing it gave me the same feeling the first one did. The levels are fun and the enemies are spinechilling. There's much more story to 2 than there is 1, which is very appreciated. The bond between Six and Mono is so cute. Glad nothing bad happens to either of them.
Super easy as all modern Fire Emblem games have been. Not an issue but worth noting. The story was painfully boring. I didn't really care much about any of the characters except Corrin and Azula. Some of the maps were fun, others not so much. Wish they did without the incest. I get that romance is heavily emphasized in the 3ds game but letting Corrin marry and have kids with their supposed blood relatives is weird and the primary reason for the low rating. I don't care if they aren't technically related because that's worse as it ruins the whole point of the story. Where's the tension if Corrin isn't actually related to either side? It's just a war between two groups. The only part of this game worth playing is Corrin in Smash
Let me start by saying I loved Umbral Star. Put over 100 hours into it getting platinum. In terms of gameplay, this was very fulfilling as a sequel. The maps felt less chaotic, there was much more varistion in the objectives, and the ability system was a great addition. Having Hakuno, the master, out on the battlefield gave a sense of urgency that wasn't present in the previous game. My problem with it is the story. It wasn't bad or anything, and I'm certainly glad it wasn't as long as Umbral, but it felt much simpler and unimpressive. I love Charlie and how he parallels Hakuno, something that's probably lost on players who haven't played the original Extra games, but it didn't feel like he resonated with the rest of the cast that much. The lack of Altera scenes, who was such an intergral part of the first game and the "sister" of this game's antagonist was really disappointing. She only shows up once or twice per route and its kind of forgettable. The expanded mission list is really cool though. All my problems with the story are made up for by the replayability. Definitely recommend if you like Warriors games. If you're just a Fate fan though, you're not missing much besides Charlemagne.
