Graveyard Keeper2
Jan 6, 2020
This game is quite obviously a rushed unfinished attempt to capitalize on **** valley's success. Sadly it lacks the polish **** had on release. Instead of SV's amazing soundtrack with some 30 different and well crafted songs you get ... One... that's right just one song on loop the entire game. Completely rips off **** valley farming bit for bit. You will be doing way more farming than graveyard keeping in this game. The graveyard is a complete afterthought here. Gone are the meaningful relationships with the townsfolk as well. The dialogue written for them is very short and in most cases story lines are STILL unfinished after selling 2 DLC releases at 35$ for the full (unfinished) game now on steam. Latest DLC finally adds dialogue to a few characters so they can give you tedious fetch quests. The tavern in this game is totally pointless unless you just like to make more money for no particular reason whatsoever while you watch your tavern guests aimlessly walk around saying "get out of my way" lol seriously lazy programming just getting this out the door as fast a possible to get rich on that SV nostalgia. Seriously a shameless cash grab. Take a pass on this one unless you want to endlessly grind things for no reward at the end. Still completely unfinished concept and not very well though out.

Overall just a very bad game and of course WAY overpriced at 60$. I've played a lot of these in the past 3 years or so and the situation with gaming just keeps getting worse and worse. At first you think you might get an experience on par with something like the original Bioshock but then it just kind of unravels as it's slowly revealed to you how bad the story is, how uninteresting the characters are, and how pointless most of the the game mechanics (even combat) are in this game. Most situations can be dealt with by literally just running away from the thing. Who thought that would be a good idea? Is this a British thing where running away from something over and over again is "fun"? Should I stealth through this base and spend 30 minutes stealth choking people from the bushes? Why when I can just sprint through it in 1 minute with zero consequences and the exact same end result. AN I had the game set on "HARD" lol Then they have all these crafting elements in the game 98% of which I didn't even use because they were boring and the game was so braindead easy I didn't even have to use them. Why waste the time to even code that all in had to take years! What a waste of effort! Rotten food and food at all for example... Why waste that coding time? You clearly don't ever need to worry about food and water in this game at all even on hard mode where you specifically tell the game YES I want to worry about food and water lol. It's nonsensical things like that over and over again that turn me off this game immediately. I just don't even feel motivated to waste another 5 or 6 hours beating this game. The story is so dumb I have no problem whatsoever just leaving it unfinished. I honestly don't even feel like watching a youtube of someone finishing it that was so bad of a story.

Bought the game because I loved SOT. The combat system in this game just feels bad. Controls are clunky. Menus are clunky. None of the micromanagement really matters because the game is so braindead easy. You will beat it in less than 20 hours without even thinking. It wasn't very fun at all to play this. WATCHING the game being played it did have some funny parts. Maybe 50% of the jokes fell flat though. SOT was light years funnier and more fun to play. I feel like Ubisoft ruined this game and loaded it full of cancer like day one DLC and whatever this forced Ubiclub stuff is. Total cancer guys. I can't believe Matt and Trey allowed that seems more like something they should have been making fun of in games. That would've generated some laughs. Lots of missed joke opportunities here which was disappointing. I ended up getting a full refund from Steam thankfully and just watched a full playthrough on youtube. Much better watching it than having to do all those fetch quests to get to the decent parts. I was bummed that this game was a dud been looking forward to it for a year now.

Pros: Good Music, Gameplay is fun (while it lasts), well written characters when you do get a dialogue which is rare sadly. (Just write some more text I mean... can't be that hard to write text events guys) Cons: Too short, Gets too easy very fast when you get metal armor, Events are poorly done and way too short, leaves you with a "meh" feeling overall which is a shame because it had potential. It has no endgame at all... none. So don't expect to get more than a week out of it. I'll just say the game started out strong then suddenly the difficulty fell off a cliff and everything got boring very fast. The worst was when the late game event started (orc invasion) I thought "oh man things are going to get crazy now". Nah still pretty boring. Then suddenly 30 game days later the war was suddenly over and some soldiers passing me on the road from a faction I was strongly allied with (and killed oh I dunno a hundred or so orcs for) called me a wuss and I was given the option to fight them or retire (LOL ok) so I chose to fight them and the friggin game won't even let you do that... Also a 30 day orc war!? Really only 30 days!? Laaaaaame! Why would you shoot your endgame in the foot like that? Even if I wanted to hit the "continue onward anyway" button they made this stupid level 11 cap for all the mercs. Why? There's no point in continuing the game anyway after the orc invasion because other events just don't happen and by that time you're overpowering everyone with heavy armor anyway. The game woon't even let you imagine that there's endgame content because there's no treasure hunts for unique weapons even worse the unique weapons you do find are the most boring underwhelming things I've ever seen... that's just laziness IMO. I'm sorry but this game is completely lacking in actual content after less than a week of gameplay.

This game amounts to hours upon hours of thoughtful... and then mindless clicking out of pure frustration until you find the right sequence of clicks after dying hundreds (and yes you will die hundreds if not thousands) of times. Not exactly my idea of fun. It would be forgivable if the story or characters drew me in but it's hard to get emotional about pixel art and a mediocre story. Even the easy mode was frustrating beyond belief. Thankfully my brain had enough around halfway through the horrendously unforgiving torture scenario and chose to give up on this one. The next day I woke up and thought "Should I play it again? maybe it wasn't that ridiculous and I was just tired." Then I shuddered at the though of doing that torture scenario one more time and decided against it.

It's a pretty "meh" game. No real improvements to speak of over Normandy. AI is still absolutely terrible. Explosions look slightly better that's about it. It's the same game as over a decade ago. The interface with how you view and arrange your troops prior to the battle is worse than previous games. I don't really understand how a game cooks for over ten years and comes out with a crappy interface. Then again Diablo 3 was a disappointment in every way after a longer wait time... so I can't say I'm surprised by this. It's the new age of "lets release crap on Steam because they have no standards and make money while we still can." Should have been a free MOD 10 years ago (which I think it mostly was in terms of work put in) def not a stand alone 50$ game. Huge ripoff.

This game is awful just friggin awful. 8 years after CoH and all we get are new skins. AI is so much dumber now... seriously the cover system is totally broken. Oh yeah and the story **** so to add insult to injury it's worse than CoH. Just so bad to release a game like this. It's not even friggin optimized and runs sluggish as hell!! WHY!? It looks the same as what we saw from CoH 8 years ago. The exact same thing with slightly new skins and voices. Well whatever I just hope people read this and save their money. Trust me when I tell you it's not worth it.

It was fun for the first few days then when I realized I hit the end of their content at the last unexplored planet I got bored very fast. The other warframes just aren't really anything to obsess over and work farming several weeks for. Sorry but they just not unique enough especially when the game is so easy and hey arn't even needed anyway. Same thing goes for the weapons. Boring and not worth farming for after you hit the end of the content. If you want me to grind the repetitive levels endlessly for weeks to get something to drop you have to make it worth doing. That said it's free to play. I didn't expect much, didn't get much, and lost nothing but time. Oh well...

This game felt like it was headed in the right direction then some executive just stepped in and said "Release it now!" despite the fact that it was only half done. The controls are the worst example of this half baked feeling. VERY clunky which is a deal breaker in a zombie game where you need fast reflexes to dispatch them in close combat. Weapon swings take SO LONG it would be a death sentence to try and fight more than one zombie with just melee weapon swings even with something like a sledge hammer. Bottom line melee in this game is totally broken and useless. The best way to kill them is just hitting RB then side stepping behind them for an "execution" which is also WAY too quirky and buggy to work reliably. The firearms in the game work fine nothing special but there really no point in using them because they attract every zombie on the map to your location. So the best strategy ends up being to run past everything to the end which you can do on almost every map. If you try and go the "stealth" route which is what they clearly push in the game then you can enjoy all the melee bugs and instances of them respawning zombies right behind you to add difficulty. Then also enjoy all those free scratch hits zombies get while you try to melee with their awful combat system. The "survivors" you pick up along the way are totally pointless. You can send them out to scavenge but supplies are so plentiful there's never a point to doing this and it ends up being a total waste of time. The last level is horrendously bad. I won't spoil it for you but when you finish off the game you will realize just how bad and half baked this game was. I would have loved to see what they could have done with more time and money. A better scavenging/survivor system and a much more fluid melee combat system would have propelled this game into the "good" category for sure. Sad to see this get rushed out.

So I can't just build a sprawling metropolis now I have to build in these little white boxes then start over when I run out of room because I need to have my little cities cooperate with one another in order to get by??? What is this are you serious with this!? Is this some lame way to force me to play with other peoples cities online? What if I don't want to? THen you are just artificially limiting me after I have given you my money already. I call BS on this game. Sad to see a once noble franchise reduced to smuldering rubble like Diablo. Yet another game ruined by online only DRM. How many more of these do we need? Toss it on the fire with the rest I guess. *sigh*

Diablo is a girl and Cain gets killed by a Power Rangers villain who uses butterfly magic. Boring items based around the same 3 stats. No build diversity at all. Auction house **** the life out of the game as predicted. Terrible voice acting and dumb quests that you can't skip. Can't skip between acts. Only one act is viable for farming. Why would you even farm at all you into S&M or something? Even the games lead dev and head CM know the game is bad. They quit rather than try to fix it! LOL If you like torturing yourself and get off on watching the Diablo franchise fall dead at the feet of the corporations then buy this game.

Some huge things missing from this game killed it for me. 1.) There is no AI whatsoever. Minions don't wander your dungeon on their own. They will literally just stand there and starve to death not interacting with anything unless you tell them to go eat something even if they are STANDING IN THE KITCHEN!!! How lulz worthy is that? How can you possibly make a game playtest it yourself and not be frustrated by that??? You'd have to be the most simple minded person ever to not view that as a huge problem. 2.) Enemy has no AI and no challenge. They don't attack things using a strategy it's just a random location enemy spawn. Yep that's right so your traps and unit placement are useless. No building defenses or anything like that. Enemies spawn in a random location... you teleport your squad to that location DONE... that's the whole "challenge" behind this game. Once again it's either rushed and not play tested or just plain evil money grab to allow a game to be shipped like this. 3.) Overworld resource gathering is horrendously bad. You send a squad to a location on the overworld then 5 minutes later you get a pile of resources. You have no control over them after they are sent. The simplest Facebook games execute this mechanic better. WHY!? Why did you guys do this!? 4.) Multiplayer and PVP are still in beta! Surprised? I'm not because this game is obviously unfinished. 5.) Dungeons aren't customizable!!! You missed the biggest aspect of these games. Building a personalized death trap maze for the heroes that enter just isn't possible with this. There's so many other issues telling me this game is unfinished it's really not even funny. It's sad. Just very very sad to see the state of gaming come to this when an unfinished game just gets squeezed out and sells copies anyway encouraging the next group of developers to do the same. WAKE UP PEOPLE!

Cool concept. A little bit buggy though. Only been playing for an hour and already got stuck in a tube with an observer that refused to move forcing a restart. On more than a few occasions I get pushed through or can clip through walls. Overall the difficulty is pretty good. A little repetitive right now but hopefully that will get better as the game goes on.

It's a cool indie game. A little overpriced right now so wait for one of those huge discount indie sale bundle things to get it. All in all I had a good time with it and spent a day playing it while it was snowing outside (clutch). It kept me warm while I got some laughs and had some fun. I don't see people playing this more than a day but it's relatively cheap so it is what it is as they say.

This is pretty much a kids game only IMO. For an adult I felt that the platforming was very tedious in the sense that it was slow and clunky. Climbing a ladder in this game is just brutal and it has to be done quite often. The puzzles were not very well designed. If you were looking for clever puzzles that give you a huge sense of satisfaction after solving this is not it (unless you are a kid of course). The characters unique special abilities mattered so little I'm really not sure why they wasted time putting them in the game at all. Kinda frustrating to see all that wasted potential there. The scenrey was cool though and the art really had me **** into the game. I would have rather dealt with bad art than bad gameplay though.

3/10 for effort. This game has a good premise and a really interesting environment. I don't really consider it to be a "game" though certainly not a "survival game". It's more of a short walk through someones landscape painting. A few things that didn't really make sense to me and made the game feel unfinished. Why give me a knife and have animals running around and then not allow me to kill them for food? To survive in this all you do it seems is drink water and take medicine to avoid your growing fever. You arn't require to hunt and eat at all despite the presence of all these slow moving animals and insects. The animals and insects play no part in your research either so it's plant collection only. Very strange. Almost has a feeling of they wanted to let you do all that but didn't have time to finish the game. For that reason I had to drop the rating because you shouldn't release something this unfinished for money. Needs way more depth to be considered a "game" in my opinion. Avoiding "The Creature" by simply getting out of it's line of sight then stumbling (literally stumbling) from point A to point B while collecting plants simply doesn't cut it in my book. I'm disappointed because I wanted to love it and think it could have been so much more had it been finished.
