A lot of people scoring this game 0 but I don’t think they understand that this is not a big budget behemoth like FIFA. It’s a small developer with a limited budget that have produced a playable game. Rugby games are very hard to make. They are even harder to make well. They don’t translate very well to video games. This is a game that lacks polish but it still quite fun.
The entire game feels very poorly thought through. The idea to turn battles in to real time could have been epic but instead is a button mash - no logic at all. Sneaking is one of the most poorly implemented mechanics I’ve seen in a video game. The entire game feels like one big tutorial and you’re not encouraged to explore. The idea behind “wild zones” is really poor. There’s no sense of adventure at all here. One of the worst games I’ve ever played - a blatant cash grab on what is the world’s biggest IP.
After the disaster that was WWE 2K18 on the original Switch, I came into WWE 2K25 with pretty low expectations, but I’m happy to say this one genuinely surprised me. It’s not just playable, it’s actually good. The game runs smoothly in most situations, and even when there are eight wrestlers in the ring, it holds up. All the core modes are here and fully functional, which is a huge win for handheld wrestling fans. There are still a few rare frame rate drops but nothing game-breaking. Hopefully, that gets ironed out in future updates. The real downside right now is the online mode. It works, but the low player count means matchmaking can take a while. Still, if you're more into local play or single-player modes, there’s a lot to enjoy here. All in all, WWE 2K25 on the Switch 2 feels like a redemption arc for the series on Nintendo hardware. If you're a wrestling fan who’s been burned before, this is one port that finally delivers.
Started off as a fun entry to the series but it’s just becoming an absolute joke. Blatant cash grab and some of the crossovers are an insult to long time players. Used to love the “genuine” feel of a Call of Duty game. But now it’s just growing into a premium version of Fortnite. At least Fortnite is free initially.
I've been playing this on Xbox Series X so the game is perfectly playable to me bring on next gen hardware, albeit for a few bugs here and there. So far I've not come across anything game breaking Night City is a vibrant place and is very believable - you do get a sense when walking through the world that this is what the world could look like in the very near future. Unfortunately the immersion is broken by police that spawn out of nowhere and NPC's which ignore you walking around with your dong out. The story though is engaging and enjoyable, with varied missions that aren't too laborious. Characters are likeable though there are maybe a few too many. Sometimes your phone rings non stop and different characters introduce themselves and it can feel a little overwhelming. I trust CDProjektred and I think they will eventually deliver on this game. If any game has identified the broken vision of the harmony that Microsoft have tried to deliver across multiple generations of consoles, it's this one.
I had been part of the Pro Evo faithful until around Pro Evo 6 on Xbox 360, which was an absolutely horrible game and the shooting was all but completely broken. Step in Fifa, the only viable option... and so the Fifa addiction begins, along with the countless £££ spent on the cash cow that is ultimate team. A game which few would argue has firmly planted itself on its throne and refused to be moved, until now. Whilst Pro Evo still has its flaws and can never match FIFA in terms of licensing and presentation - Konami have finally produced another game worthy of that Pro Evolution Soccer title. It is a solid, accurate representation of the game and most of the past flaws have been fixed. I'm not saying it's perfect but focussing on Gameplay only it is the best football game i've played in ages. A bold statement when you consider the amount of time i've pumped into FIFA over the last few years. FIFA 14, many will agree, played out better than the newer release of FIFA 15. It had a slower more methodical approach which felt more like a real game. The problem with EVERY release of FIFA which is made completely evident in Ultimate team, where teams are built on the likes of Aubameryang and Ibarbo - the games biggest flaw, the focus on Pace. In FIFA, its usually a case of the fastest team wins. The defensive AI is so flawed that a quick winger can exploit the game almost every time. This approach in Pro Evo can be made to work but the defenders will make an active effort to win back the ball and if a quick player does get through on goal you feel a sense of achievement, not just a sensation that you have exploited the game (again...) Now a lot of people will read this and think i'm Anti Fifa which i'm not, I scored FIFA at a very respectable 8 also - which I do believe is a score of which it is worthy. Certainly from a presentation perspective. Pro Evo just highlights FIFAs flaws, once you have played it and realise that you have to work with the ball and there are countless ways to approach a game, without focussing on chipped through ball. On a final note - The difficult decision now is whether to stick with it, as most of my mates play FIFA and I want to remain the best on that! Or to bite the bullet and master what is the better game, at least for now.
