Scott Wheeler’s movie Attack of the Killer Donuts will have you rethinking your next cheat day. This self-aware comedy takes the “killer” in killer donuts very seriously as they actively murder most of the donut costumers. I thought the play-on-language used by the competitive donut shop owners added to the story’s humor. I’d recommend this movie to horror comedy lovers!

Phil Allocco has the perfect mix of characters for his rom-com The Truth About Lies. Though Rachel (Odette Annable) and Gilby (Fran Kranz) connect because of their similar beliefs about working, they couldn’t be more different. Gilby tries to mold himself to be the perfect person for Rachel with a mix of lies and outdoor experiences. This movie is so funny, if you’re a rom-com lover, it’s for you!

Tim Reis’ film Bad Blood gives an insight into just how far a dissection can go with its rebel werewolf-like theme that takes on an amphibious twist. The makeup and costume design along with the complimenting scoring makes the film just eerie enough to keep me on the edge of my seat. I would recommend this to horror film fanatics who wouldn’t shy away from its fierce gore.

As a fellow-lover of the show Happy Endings, I was left wanting more when the show was cancelled. Seeing Zachery Knighton on the list of main characters for Big Bear was one of my main motivations for watching the comedy. Joey Kern did not shatter my illusion with his combination of a close group of friends and a weekend-gone-wrong. The film had me laughing along while still wondering what the boys would do next. This is the type of movie that you can just watch over and over and find a new joke waiting for you.
