If you've ever dreamed of becoming a handyman, this is by far the best game on the market for you. You get to fix damage, knock out walls, build new walls, paint, install toilets, bathtubs, sinks and so many other things. You can even add images from your computer and hang them on the walls as paintings! I would recommend this game over the sequel, which is much more simple and not as satisfying.
I'm editing my review and changing the score. My initial review was pretty negative, a 5/10. But the more I play this game, the more I enjoy the simplified mechanics. The graphic design is top-notch, and very cozy. This is the perfect comfort game when you're feeling down.
No question the pinnacle of open-world RPG gaming. Oblivion just never gets old. So many factions to join. So many quests. Houses to buy and furnish. Secret places to find and explore. Yes, the combat is janky and yes, the NPCs act a bit stiff, but that stuff doesn't matter one bit. This is one of the greatest games ever made, and it will never cease to pull me in and take me for a wonderful ride each and every time I play it.
This is not a Fallout game. This is far, far from a Fallout game. Filled to the brim with bugs and completely soulless, Bethesda somehow managed to take every single thing that makes Fallout Fallout and slapped the series name on this piece of garbage product in order to capitalize on microtransactions. The next Bethesda game better be a singleplayer masterpiece, or I simply won't buy their games anymore. It saddens me to see the Fallout franchise take a step in every direction but the right one.
My rating is based upon entertainment value alone. ETS2 is among the best trucker simulators up there, along with 18 Wheels Of Steel: Haulin'. Positives: * Plenty of cities * Many different trucks * Pretty deep. You can start a company, own trucks, get new licenses etc. * Alright graphics. * You can stream online radio easily. * Endless timekiller. Negatives: * Trucks sometimes get stuck after colliding with objects, but usually break loose after a while. * Even with DLC, there are pretty few countries. * You get fined when other cars drive into you. Overall, it's a great game that keeps you engaged. I wonder how many nights I've spent thinking "just one more delivery, just one more delivery, just one more..." It never really gets boring for some reason.
I would like to give Rage a 7 or less, since it does come with quite many bugs and visual problems. But there is just something about it that keeps dragging me back! First of all, the gunfights are some of the best around. The animations of the enemies looks very realistic, and the world has that rugged, Mad Max 2 kind of atmosphere. I can imagine this is what Fallout 4 will eventually look like, with more freedom of course. As for the negatives: During certain cut scenes the audio breaks, which can be annoying. The characters you meet will sometimes suffer from the age old "audio out of sync with lip movements" problem which is, to say the least, irritating. Finally, the textures load very slowly in this game. As soon as you look in a new direction, the objects near you will start to load their textures, somewhat breaking the immersion. Technical issues aside, Rage is a blast to play, outside and inside your vehicle, much thanks to the awesome shooting mechanics. If you like post-apocalypse, this is a game for you!
