WRC 6: World Rally Championship3

A succinct verdict is all that's necessary for this particular title: 1. It's a racing game. 2. It's running at 30 fps (with dips) 3. The hard shadows have that typical no-aliasing flickering effect. 2b/3b Point 2 and 3 go hand in hand to severely plague the racing experience because it's fatiguing to watch. Thirty fps on a modern gaming console. The game was released in 2016, not 1990. Other racing games like Dirt 4 run like a dream on the Xbox One. A THIRTY FPS RACING GAME. I repeat: A THIRTY FPS RACING GAME. To anyone still wondering why this is important: of all gaming genres, the racing genre is the most unforgiving when it comes to frame drops and low frame rates in general. Racing games are also considered "light load" on gaming hardware, so there's no excuse to program it to perform at 60 fps and maybe dropping some graphical detail as a trade-off if need be. Gamers shouldn't accept this garbage and the devs ought to be ashamed of themselves. Shame on you.

This game does a couple of things very wrong: - Too much story fluff, if I wanted to read a novel I would do just that - It makes you wait after you die because of what seems to be loading times. After a couple of deaths this means it's Home Button > Start > Quit for this game. I don't mind dying over and over because I **** at a level, but to be tortured like that with something that should not be there - what is it loading anyway? It's a platformer! What terabytes of background and enemy data does it need?? The creators should've looked at player death in the NES and even SNES Megamans and set that downtime as the maximum acceptable time of blackscreen/loadscreen. - Artistically speaking, it's childish Unity style garbage. This point is a matter of taste I guess, but we have come to expect certain things from a Megaman game, even if it's its spiritual successor. Maybe this game will be heavily favored by Americans who like to watch baseball or American football, because those events follows a similar structure: start-STOP start-STOP start-STOP and wait... wait... wait... To each their own I guess. Unnecessary loading times are punished heavily by me, almost as much as the dreaded 30 fps monster to otherwise good games: -5 modifier. Besides the issues, there is a functional and fun game experience to be had: a solid 8 for its platforming elements and fun scenery. Thus the end score is a 3. Take heed, devs and QA. These are the things that truly matter.

Street Fighter V4

What a mess this game turned out to be. Where to begin... - There is no proper arcade mode. Instead, there is a crippled introductory "story" mode and a proper single player story mode that's way too long and repetitive (Karin over, and over, and over again) ... if you like Mortal Kombat styled single player mode where it just seems to go on forever - it's in there. If you however expect a normal arcade mode where it gives you a bunch of random characters to fight and a rival or boss end battle, you can forget about it. - The netcode is inferior to SF4's netcode. That should be saying something. I know "experts" will say GGPO is superior, but it's not. It's dog **** compared to SF4's netcode. Rollback is the dumbest mechanic ever. Skipping frames altogether so it skips like a bad COD game is equally annoying. It's supposed to freeze like it did in SF4. That way you know exactly what's going on and if the connection's ass - it's ass. And that's fine. We know the internet isn't a perfect medium to play games on. Bad netcode breaks otherwise good games. - The waiting. The endless waiting. Waiting. Waiiiiitiiiiiiiiiiiing. Do I annoy you yet? Waiiiiiiiiiiiiitiiiiiiiiiiing. That nuisance you're feeling right now is the nuisance you will feel while playing this game online. Between finding an opponent (which in and of itself can take minutes!!) and being able to control your character in Round 1 takes around a minute if not longer. That is clearly unacceptable. It is also not a loading problem as you can test this by playing Survival Mode and checking how long it takes to change background places every 5 matches. Online, they put ARTIFICIAL delay in. So it is DELIBERATE. They DELIBERATELY make you wait. Every. single. time. Not frame delay, but seconds of delay for fluff. For nothing. For a f-cking globe that's spinning, here comes a new challenger, fade to white. This is the main reason I hate this game. The only way I can manage to not lose my mind while playing it is do other stuff on a laptop and casually listen to hurt sounds because I'm getting my ass handed to me after eons of "loading" time. This is a fighting game. Action. It's supposed to be fast at everything. Not some MGS snoozefest where you have to wait and wait some more for nothing. It's like Capcom forgot what genre this is and what the audience expects. - When playing ranked, you can't select a character prior to the match. Instead, you have to select the character you want to stick with with SEVERAL buttons and MENUS before it's changed. This blew my mind. The whole menu system is f-cked. I have no nicer word for it. They actively choose to make things as obscure is possible where you're looking for the right game mode, settings, preferences etc. This isn't a "git gud" scenario. Menus shouldn't be a chore to learn as if it's some grind to excellence. Discerning people may pose the argument that selecting a character each time prior to the actual match slows the process down and they may point to the previous point I made, and technically they would be right. However, the way SF4 dealt with this is still much faster in seconds to gameplay than this monstrosity. I have no problem with sacrificing up to 5 seconds selecting a character to play. I do have a problem with minutes of waiting for no reason whatsoever every single time. AVGN says it best with his catchphrase: What were they thinking?! - Communication: There is none. We're back to the Stone Age. You can't message people if you don't know their real nickname on PSN. For some **** reason they thought it'd be a great idea to give us an alias. This means you can't trash talk, ask questions, add friends. It is impossible to add an opponent you met to your friends list. How backward is that! Honestly! The closest to this feature is adding a Favorite from within the game so you can see their recordings and shoot them invites if they're on, but it is a far cry from what it's supposed to be like. Let's reinvent the wheel, guys! **** (c) 2016 Capcom - This is a minor gripe I guess but it is a very real nuisance: whenever you're at the Results screen, the PS4 fan will go bonkers. It will rev up to probably 70% or even 100% until you hit X to return to menu. Now, read my lips: There is NO reason. NO. REASON. For it to rev up like that. It is a match result screen. It puts zero strain onto the console to keep that screen up. There is no animation, there is no loading, NOTHING. And yet the PS4 sounds like an F16 about to take off. This is an issue that's been around since the game's inception as far as I can tell. - After picking the low hanging fruit for easy Fight Money (do all the easy stuff to get in-game currency) it dries up and there's no quick way to get extra money besides grinding it out for hours to get a meager 1000 FM by levelling up a character. One character costs 100.000 FM, mind. So that's 200 hours to buy one character with FM. -character limit reached-

It's a Thief game, so stealth, pickpocketing, sneaking around are all present. You buy items, you upgrade your abilities. It looks like a cool game to play but gets slain by that horrible console monster: 30FPZilla (with dips) ... It makes the game sluggish and close to unplayable. The only reason I give it a 4 instead of a 1 is because I see it for what it is: a fun stealth game. It would've been a LOT better for this game to have gone the 720p/60 fps route.

It's a new iteration to Super Putty! Those who played the original will know how zany and fun this game is promising to be. The first thing I noticed when starting to play is... it's 30 fps. But hold on now! This is on a NEXT GEN console, right? And it's "just another platformer" that could've been made on a SNES, right? So why the @#%$ isn't it running silky smooth?! Do they do this on purpose? For shame, System 3. This game would've gotten a solid 7 if not 8 from me but gets hammered down to a "this game is running at 30 fps while it should be running at 60 fps" four out of ten score. Developers everywhere, learn already. 60 fps is the MINIMUM requirement for games to be enjoyable. We aren't living in 1990 anymore where less performance would be condoned.

Street Fighter X Tekken7

First things first: This can be an incredibly fun game to play. Offline the game really shines. What paid DLC is concerned, you always have to look at how well the game performs without the DLC installed. The only three downsides to not owning the DLC are as follows: 1) the character grid shows the unavailable characters and it makes it a bit awkward to select those you can 2) it teases you by showing what you're "missing out on" - and the most important of all - 3) you can't learn the matchup well against the DLC characters because you can't play them yourself in training mode. This 3rd point is the only valid point to be against DLC like this - period. Whether they released it on day 1 (because it's on the disc!) or on day 180 is irrelevant if you think about it, you still have to pay for the same product except there's a time displacement at work. Gameplay: The gameplay itself is great, for the PS3 version at least. On Xbox 360 you're supposedly not able to play tag online, which makes no sense whatsoever. You can completely ignore the Tekken cast if you want to, and play it as if it's another Street Fighter clone, but with a twist. Being able to charge into specials and super arts adds dynamic to the fight, along with Alpha Counters and Pandora as an X-factor-ish defensive last ditch attempt at victory, or canceled into as an offensive push. This game deserves more love. It is truly a shame the game doesn't seem to get more patches for the network lag issues and the laggy menus altogether. Real actual gameplay: 7.5 (9 offline), graphics 8 (8.5 at the time of release, music 8, network 5 (varies, naturally, and this includes random drops we know so well from NRS games)

The game runs at 30 fps with dips. Because of the nature of the game, this is unacceptable. Which is a shame because the concept is great, as are the many loadouts and possible tactics you can experiment with. Who knows, maybe they'll release a "definitive edition" in 1-2 years with the required 60 fps performance it deserves. For now, buy this on PC or leave it be.

It looks great, handles like a cookie cutter Forza game. but the major problem with this game, like many others on consoles: 1. It's a racing game. 2. It runs at a measly 30 fps. The reasons why it runs at this ridiculously low fps and not 60 fps at the very least are unimportant: it's the fact that it does. Racing games should also be at 60 fps. Go big or go home.

The game doesn't run very well on a high-end AMD videocard (7900 series) - even at lowest settings it can become a slideshow at times (particularly while flying a kite and doing circles before you land) ... Apparently this game was tailored for Nvidia users and AMD users can pretty much go @#$! themselves. Classy, Ubisoft. I see this gem for what it is, though: if you ignore the minor inconveniences with crafting and having to bounce back and forth for components, this is a beautiful game. It would get an 8.5 if it didn't lag with a beefy videocard.

The important thing to realize here is that you're dealing with an interactive movie here. It's not a game; it has game elements. Still, if you see it for what it is and can still enjoy the beautiful graphics and storyline, there's nothing wrong with that. Rent or get it at a good discount price.

The game is vibrant, has an interesting story which practically begs for a sequel where things are further fleshed out. I picked this game up for a bargain so I'm able to give this game a 6 instead of a 4, because people who paid full price for this product and aren't completely blind to frame rate drops would've surely felt gypped. There's frame rate drops (think Killzone 2 multiplayer, which could be pretty bad at times) and then there's FRAME RATE DROPS. This game falls in the latter category. It's worse than the letdown that is GTA V. If there's one thing that's an absolute deal breaker to any worthy gem ****, it's this. Apparently it doesn't have the same problem on Xbox 360 and I just spotted it on Steam, so pick it up for those platforms instead where you can because the game itself is definitely worth playing.

The game is virtually unplayable through Steam. I've tried deleting local content, disabling the texture pack, deleting local content again and reinstalling the game, various "fixes" from reliable sources that I followed to the letter, all to no avail. I have a large gaming catalogue where only a handful games I got from bundles are acting up and all those games are known to give issues. I can get into the world, look around, do some quests and that's fine, but the game loves to crash to desktop without an error for no particular reason. Drive a certain way? Crash. Look at the police cameras? Crash. I love sandbox games, and I hate to say this but I'm done with this "game" and the DLC I bought that I never got to experience, and I moved Sleeping Dogs to my "Games that don't work" folder. GG.
