On the positive side, the immersion into the star wars universe is really fantastic. Music, lightning, environments, dialogues, humor and bestiary really make your game sessions feel shorter than the hours I play. Additionally, the syndicated mechanism is well thought out and does influence your ability to wander around on the map based on reputation.
On the less good side, the combats are okay but not amazing and at standard levels of difficulty the enemies are a bit dum, which makes the stealth proposition less attracting.
Give it a bit more month of refining those aspects and this experience will be even further satisfying. Was kind of bored with gaming recently, the immersion here surprised me.
I have around 30 hours now on the game. Positives : - very good naval fighting
- situations can get very exciting in a second
- boat specialization is interesting
- artistic direction varies per region and some are really nice
- just very pleasant to sail
- end game brings additional content and mechanismes (new currencies for King Pins and rewards)
- the different camps are similar but each have their own atmosphere
- easy to meet people while sailing, and the game gets super good when you are a team of three Cons : - currently no chat
- a bit of grinding (mitigated by the various different ways to get resources : pillage, sinking boats, farming trees/sone)
- early game isn't as exciting as mid/late game
- boat crew can get a bit annoying (shouting for a fishing boat when you are level 10 is a bit ridiculous) All-in-all, it's imperfect, but a very good fondation to build on through the seasons and bring new features & content. Also : this is not AC black flag, people should stop complaining about swords & gun fights. It's a boat MMORPG. If you are confortable with that, it's a good game.
