Brilliant remake of one of the best games of all time. Playing with a controller feels amazing and makes it a whole new experience. Completely reinvigorating a timeless game. It seems this game got review-bombed because of a few hours of clunky start which is sad. Also people whining about the char faces which A. they listened to fans and updated and B. has literally no effect once you start a game. Also people just hating blizzard to hate which is unfortunate because this game was made in a totally different studio that was only recently acquired. I myself had concerns about some of the art direction, but that all washed away once i started playing. There are still a few bugs and issues but they are very minor and I trust them to fix the issues in the next couple months. Items don't identify in the cube, the merc screen is not accurate. Mostly just the lobby system needs a more modern update to be able to quickly identify and join the right kinds of games.

The really bad choice this game made was the narrator for everything. My theory is they were trying to make it like a "Planet Earth" episode. The problem is that this kind of game needs to be immersive, not have an "outside looking in" perspective. Therefore the narrator constantly pulls you out of the immersion. It seems like most reviewers lost their mind getting annoyed about the narrator and just pushed to finish this game asap to review it. A lot of the reviews are disappointing, often saying things that are completely untrue; the game is linear, the world is flat, the world is unpopulated, the enemies are all the same and not varied. All of this is provably false. Also rampant reports of the game being too easy while other reviewer say the unpolished combat is too hard. This game is at its best when you just explore and uncover fun stuff - when you are barreling toward the finish line to give this game a bad review, you haven't actually experienced the true game at all. Lets be real - Biomutant is an unapologetically weird experiment ****. While many feel that they got too far off the beaten path, I say its refreshing to experience something new, especially in this open work genre that is starting to get beaten to death at this point. Its not a perfect game, more like a jack of all trades. If you are looking for a game that's a master of something, this isn't it. Its a game about sitting back and enjoying the wild and cooky ride. If that is your mindset going in, you are going to have a lot of fun. I would say the closest comparison that you can make for this game is Fallout. Every Bethesda game ever has been ripe with bugs and problems around every corner. While biomutant sure has a lot of weirdness, it has had a much cleaner launch. Yet before 76, bethesda games were showered with praise where Biomutant is getting dragged through the mud. While not perfect, this game is far from an embarrassingly buggy release that is all to common in this day an age. Some of the biggest things holding Biomutant back are simply fine tuning. When new players get their hands on a game they like to band and break it in ways devs could never have imagined. This game is being broken in many ways that can be fixed with simple updates. Bring down some overpowered things, bring up some weak things. Mix in more perks. Fine tune some combat elements. Clean up some UIs. Most of the dirt can be cleaned off this game with a few basic content patches, and Experiment 101 has already announced they are working on it. Regardless, this game is just pure fun and I'm having a blast with it.

The art direction in this game is mind blowing, the most stylized game ever made. If they were to hire Arcane to design Elder Scrolls 6, it would be the best game ever made. The graphics are super-realistic and gorgeous, though there are a few odd hiccups. The stealth action is the best there has ever been in a game, but that is what the game is all about so you have to be in the mood for that kind of thing. The level design is amazing, keeping the game interesting at every turn. Aside from some embarrassing bugs with the PC version that they are struggling with, this game is the best single-player release of 2016.

FF15 is made up of 10% Final Fantasy, 10% Grand Theft Auto, and 80% sheer frustration. This is a niche game. You might like it if you like things like: - reality tv shows - boy bands - emo kids - watching people take selfies - sitting in the back seat of a car for long periods of time - the cloths that bouncers wear at nightclubs - watching other people go glamping You will likely hate FF15 if you like things like: - memorable characters - awesome art direction - engaging story - epic adventures - complex combat - final fantasy FF15 is not a bad game, its just not a good game. In the gaming renaissance we are in, there are just so many more games worth your time. Now that I'm a little bit older, I don't have time to waste on bad games and am forced to prioritize what is truly a good game or not a good game. Sadly, this is just not. There are some positives, but with so many negatives to counteract each. -The monster design is very good; but the combat has you flying around at light speed so that you cant ever really even see what you are fighting. -The scale of the game can get crazy, but you never really interact with the massive scale in any interesting ways. - A massive effort was put into the graphics, but they shine in mundane places like how fish look or the food looks. While in the car or in combat, the constant motion creates a blur that muddies the graphics. Everything is moving to fast to really enjoy anything. - There is live action combat, but it gets old very fast, never developing past the tutorial. In terms of live action combat, there is no denying that it is unique, but it is also the most simple combat system I've ever played in any action or RPG game. - The chars go against everything FF; only one playable char, only 4 people total in your party and no fantasy chars or even women. - There is a massive realistic world map, but most of the time you are annoyingly footslogging along or battling the games map mechanics to fast travel around. Car driving is as intricate as holding R2 or even just letting someone else drive you around. There are parts where you can control the car freely, so the mechanics are there, but they just decided to force you on a track for most of the game where you can literally just let the game play itself and go do something else. - Every time you go to activate something it tells you to press X. If you press X when prompted, most of the time you just jump for no reason. You have to learn to wait slowly so you don't confuse the game. - The story is a series of mundane quests to get to something interesting. Drive to the gas station. Walk around a town market. Pitch a tent. The side-quests are complete drivel; a mixture of fetch quests and kill quests less interesting than decade old MMOs. Feed a stray cat, go buy a tomato or a million quests to go click on a dot on the ground and then return. - The voice acting is not bad and very deep but the context is just not engaging. "Hey bro - you mad bro?". Its hour after hour of some emo kids having a bro-down. Also most of the time the lips dont match up so it's like watching a dubbed movie. - The character design is the worst in the series history. Not a single interesting protagonist or antagonist to be found. In order to make up for the lackluster char design, they threw in inappropriate cleavage and schoolgirl outfits as a consolation prize. enjoy. For those of us old enough, we remember FF7 and how it changed gaming forever, and a few later games that rode its legacy before the key devs had to retire and the games started being made by people who definitely never played the games that made the franchise what it is. Hoping that the next Final Fantasy will be great is like hoping to find good television when you turn on MTV. There was once an era for Final Fantasy, that era is long dead. There are more sad spin-offs and miserable failures to its name than successes, most of them trying to ride the fumes of nostalgia. This new game ties in some ideas from Grand Theft Auto in an attempt to reinvigorate the series for a new generation. Unfortunately the devs clearly don't understand what makes FF or GTA great. If they titled this game correctly "Final Fantasy: Cool Car Bro-down Extreme" then it would deserve a consolation 7/10 for a nice first attempt at a new genre despite a plethora of flaws. For the audacity of them making this a staple Final Fantasy game to stand with the likes of 7,8,10,&12 - it gets a 1/10. This game is selling well so it may not be the "final" fantasy, but it sure is for me. RIP

As a long time Warhammer fan, I was so excited for this game. Unfortunately this game is a huge disappointment for me. It is clearly for Total War fans only. I could never get into TW games before and this is no different. The steep learning curve and slow drawn out battles are the same as any other game in the series. The graphics might be great for a TW game, but they are not good for a modern PC game and much worse than the trailers (I'm playing at max settings). This game is also sad for long time WH fans since most of the spells and a lot of the units were discontinued last year. I'll try to slog through the campaign at some point since I'm such a die hard WH fan, but it feels like a chore and right now I have a lot of better things to be doing.

There are 2 kinds of Civ players: PC fans who grew up playing 40 hour games of civ and love its slow pace and deep complexity. These players hate Civ Rev because its too "simple" and games are too "quick" and the computer "cheats". They are turned off by it from the get go and play it with a chip on their shoulder and write angry 1-3 score reviews. Then there are players who never really got into civ on the PC for various reasons: they are very slow paced with games spanning weeks, nothing really flashy or exciting is happening. Civ rev is flashy, colorful, fast-paced (only compared to civ) and no less as complex and brilliant as any civ game. Playing the same game that I have for PS3 on my iPhone 4s is pretty crazy. There seems to be only minor changes, such as a slightly smaller world, 5 player games and military units are in groups of 1-3 (A unit of 9 has 9 "heath bars" under it but is only represented in battle by 3 units). There are several subtle balance changes, such as city with walls with a ranged unit can make a ranged attack so you aren't so devastated by a naval assault, and I never got an option to flip a city using a great person. More wonders, more tech more units. Its pretty easy to play once you get the hang of it. The only thing you cant see mt do is micro-mange your city, you have to pick a general focus such as food or production. This will annoy die hard fans but its not game breaking. The difficulty complaints are silly. New players should not be playing on the hardest difficulty. Once you get good at the game you always win on Emperor so you move to Diety where the computer has an unfair advantage. The game is so brilliant and complex that if you are really good you can still win regularly when all your opponents have an unfair advantage. Playing with your back against the wall and still emerging is deeply satisfying for veteran players. The IGN review is total bogus - I never had one second of slowdown on an iPhone 4S with 20+ cities to control. Every civ is just as aggressive and difficult to dominate as the consoles. Its very disappointing - if civ rev was not made by Sid Meier and people dint expect it to be something different it could flourish. This game is brilliantly tactical and a whole lot of fun. The main thing that is really disappointing is that there is no multiplayer. Other than that it's probably the most fun and complex game for the iPhone, a hidden gem behind all the haters. My advice to you is to drop the $15 just to see if you're like me and find civ rev to be one of the best games of all time. If not, at least you supported it so that one day I might see another console release, and I appreciate your contribution.

This epic sequel offers more content than ever before, and the unique multilayer mechanics are truly working for the first time in the series. Pros: Melee is balanced with hundreds of viable weapon choices, simplified upgrading and crisp mechanics. Magic has 4 different paths with more options than ever before. Endless hours of fun PvP. Awesome enemy/boss design. Easiest Co-Op in the series. Great incentives for assisting other players. Many options for making the game harder if you find it too easy. Built from the ground up for re-playability with new traps, gear and enemies exclusively to NG+. Cons: The graphics were downgraded (but are still beautiful - for old consoles), hard skill caps mean you'll be wasting your points if you don't know what you're doing. Some lag in PvP. Voice acting is hit or miss. The music took a turn from the first two which effects the "souls" feel. Nearly absent rumble controls. The "soul memory" system frustrates many friends trying to co-op. - Lore is even more hidden than DS1, but there DEFINITELY IS a lot there, and there will be deep lore conversations to come. - Nearly all of the information online and even in guides is false, misleading or inaccurate. You truly know nothing about anything until you do it yourself. If you hear an item or build is overpowered, broken or useless - your personal findings are likely to be much different and more complex than what you had read. Therese just too much going on, too many variables. Even gameplay videos are misleading. - While the complexity may turn some casual gamers away, complexity leads to longevity for those who can't get enough of this game. After two 100-hour play-throughs, I'm trying very hard not to play my third character in anticipation for the PC release.

Hands down favorite game of the year. I love when developers take a successful game and really improve it the second time around. Cooler char classes and better weapon designs, plus awesome now mobs and really great new loot concepts overall. The story is great. The humor and pop culture references gives this game its own fun style. The subtle polish is very deep, you can tell this game is made with love. It's doing so many things right that it's hard to see anything wrong. The only thing you can complain about is if you're one of those people that just hates cel-shading. If so, I feel sorry for you because this game is hundreds of hours of pure fun.

Very nice game. This is how a sneak/assassin game should be. While not flawless, its a great first attempt by a game studio and refreshing to see Bethesda invest in a indy game company that doesn't end up tanking. My fears of some kind of Bioshock rip-off were alleviated after the intro level. The voice acting cast is the best I've ever seen, though their roles were lackluster. The graphics are nothing short of beautiful. Its noting like a massive jack of all trades like Skyrim, it is simply the master of sneaking style combat and game play. The game is short and sweet by design, but there's nothing wrong with this type of game if it is a complete and fulfilling experience.

I played the demo and I'm very disappointed. I would play this game if one of the following were not true: (1) Same graphics; What was very advanced in 2007 (ME1) par in 2010 (ME2) is now simply sub-par in 2012. (2) I like to sit back with a logi/xbox360 style controller. A keyboard, while very good, can limit you in certain situations. While many games released in the past 2 years have instant support for controllers, this game has none. (3) Same engine. ME2 was a great game but I struggled to finish due to the robotic engine. The great story, art, music and characters kept me playing through the bland game. Adding a halo-blade animation to your punch and changing health to blocks instead of bars doesn't change the gameplay. My skills were 90% exactly the same as the last game! (4) horrid user score; from what people are saying, this is a big ME2 expansion, not a $60 new game. Oh Bioware, how far you have fallen.

Dark Souls is a completly unique experience. Instead of repeating old tired RPG concepts, it is a totally new kind of experience. Improving on the ideas of Demons Souls, this game adds great new elements like a seamless world. This game gets a 10/10 for creating a unique experience while most games today are repeated versions of old ideas. Whether you love it or hate it, you are really missing out if you dont give it a try. The PC version is a straight port with a whole new content - enough to be considerd a full expansion. Like any expansion, 90% of the game content is just a repeat of the orginal - this is not a new game. The graphics are very good, but no different than the PS3 version. This game is simply a port for PC plus an expansion. it dosen't need to be more. Personally I have played both and had a great time repeating the adventure again, this time playing the game with a different style and greatly enjoying the additional content.

This game has the most lush, detailed, and top of the line graphics I think I have ever seen, combined with a beautiful art style and awesome special effects. Almost every level has a new twist - keeping the game play constantly fresh. Levels are branching and non-linear with lot of hidden areas, just overall very well designed. The puzzles seem a little on the easy side, but there's always a scroll nearby to solve the puzzle for you if you're stuck. There are a lot of mysteries hidden throughout, but helpful tool tips and scrolls help to keep you in the right direction. The combat system is perfect - it favors technique over button mashing. The game does have a bit of frustration, you may want to play it on the easiest setting to avoid some difficult battles. Personally, I don't really care about whether the game is faithful to its CV franchise, I think this game re-invents it with new identity despite previous failures in the franchise. This game takes ideas from other games but combines them into an amazing unique experience. Taking other ideas and making them your own is called design and is found in every aspect of media. I really hope that we'll see some sequels despite some reviews that aren't doing this game justice.
