This is a manager game. It's a good manager game, but it's also a niche game. It's page up and down of statistics, numbers and what not. For the most part you'll sit with the feeling that it doesn't really matter what you tell your players to do, just like in real football (those who has had the pleasure of being a coach knows the feeling). In conclusion, since this is a pretty **** review, I laugh out loud to the idiots claiming the game hasn't evolved. It's a FOOTY MANAGER GAME! It's been more or less like this since the 90's and still going strong. Some games aren't supposed to change much, and this is one of those games.
This game is the absolute pinnacle of garbage RPG's as of late. The writing is lazy, boring and, due to this, quite comical at times. This game will be famous for being the absolutely lamest attempt at forcing social justice crap down everyone's throat. If you look away from a completely lame attempt at writing a transgender character (in a world that has real sex change a potion away), the rest of the writing is almost as bad. It's just sad. R.I.P. Baldur's Gate, you didn't deserve stain on your legacy.
Despite it's rather unflattering reviews I decided to give this game a chance. I'm glad I did, it's fun and pleasing to look at. Is it hard? Well, that depends on your difficulty settings and the difference between easiest and second easiest (couldn't remember the names of the settings at the moment) is huge. I played on the easiest setting because I didn't find the combat as rewarding as it easily could've been. By that I mean that the actual combat mechanics is interesting enough, it's the lack of interesting enemies that limits the system completely. The story is fairly decent and the game does have a small degree of replay value. Once or twice, perhaps. I usually play only once and I feel that my decisions matter on the story, on a second playthrough this may change but since that's never going to be an issue for me either way, I'm quite pleased. This is not a GOTY contestant in my opinion, but worse games have won before so nothing would surprise me. This game got less freedom than Skyrim but overall Bound by Flame is a better game on every other account. I give Bound by Flame a score of 7.
This game is the best example of what's wrong with computer games today; A) It has good graphics and a large world where you can go about your own business B) It is very simple and pose hardly any resistance; success one way or another is guaranteed for the player What part B coul've said is that it's dumbed down to a level where it's actually an insult to the people who buy the product, which is actually Ubisoft's speciality. What do I rate this game at? Well, it's not a 0 but it far from a 10. I'd say 5 is a fair and balanced grade that says everything about this product as a whole.
There are some very valid criticism of this game, 1) It is not particularly hard and 2) The "stealth" element is.. I would go as far as to say pathetic. The parts that involve possessing a cat is also breathtakingly poor in terms of animation and controls. Nevertheless, the demons and "stealth" factor could've been removed completely from the game and not been missed at all. This game is all about the story and the people you meet and whether you bother investing time into solving their issues. The graphics is decent, the audio is quite good. I mean, it's actually a quite pleasant experience and doesn't deserve a measly 57 by the "professional" reviewers. (I put that in quotation marks on purpose...) My verdict? It's a 6.5 on my scale, and I always round upwards so it makes a fairly weak 7 on the metascale. With a little smarter design this game could have been a true gem, like swapping the demon hassle with something a little more constructive.
Visually the game is quite good. The atmosphere was decent but it feels a bit sterile and empty. What kills the game completely is the lack of freedom and the incredibly stupid contextual movement. This enhances the feeling of being on rails, and in fact is the definition of being on rails in games. I didn't notice any particular difference in advantage from picking one path over another when it was offered either. I'd go as far as saying that it feels like the developers went out of their way to create the coolest Thief ever but missed the genre completely. A sad, sad example of game creators expecting their players to be underdeveloped intellectually which is so common these days.
This is not a game, and shouldn't be rated as one. This is a graphic novel with poor graphics and an OK story. Nothing to go all excited about at all in my opinion. I'm not joining the bandwagon because I'm not a sheep. I'm not warning others away from this product though, you might quite possibly like it. But it's very short.
I think the writing and personalities are the strongest points in this game, it is very nicely done. From what I've seen so far, and I've barely gotten to the mainland, the player's choices aren't world changing but it's situation changing and satisfying when things go your way. The game is very difficult if you don't have the "perfect" setup which I suppose I haven't. I get robbed all the time because I seem to have too few guards and scouts when I camp which in turn leads to valuables disappearing all the time. I actually appreciate the difficulty of this game, and have tailored my own difficulty which also makes the game harder than "default" as my soldiers gets injured quite frequently, and they even die. When someone dies I almost mourn them, because the interaction with the expedition members is quite deep in this game. Since I didn't pick complete a-holes to begin with, I've gotten to know quite a few good people in my expedition. If you like deep roleplaying and strategic turn based combat, this is exactly what you get here. If I could use my own character in combat as well, and that the itemization was a little bit more detailed, I'd given the game 10/10.
This game looked cool and I was excited to try out this one. Normally, expectations is negative because it usually leads to disappointments and this game didn't disappoint in that regard, if you catch my drift. Well, the combat was extremely weird.. didn't feel good at all. Slow, sluggish and wasn't particularly well made at all. Enemies seemed rather dull and sluggish as well, as they seemed to wait for your attacks to finish before they tried anything sinister so unless you missed the combat rhythm, you can practically slay an army of dumbly idle and waiting foes. The animations are so bad that it's almost comical.. the PC is stiff, rigid and awkward while "exploring" and while it is slightly better during combat it wasn't particularly impressive there either. If you are really starved on action RPG's you might wanna give this one a chance but I'd rather spend quality time with a bad friend than trying to carve some enjoyment out of this mess. The story is OK so if the combat wasn't so extremely poorly made, I'd suffer through everything else just to see it through.
Diamond in the rough. My real score is probably around 7 or 8 but with room for improvement with a few patches. I gave 10 to counter weight those clueless punks that give really low grades without having a clue what they're doing.
When they first started on re-creating this classic game I had expected more. This is hardly different from the community modded version I already had so I am actually wondering what they actually did themselves.
Yet another timesink from with the AC stamp on it. The graphics is quite fine and even though the animations are mor jittery than previous releases it looks good overall. The story isn't really bad but it isn't very good either and you're very confined during story missions, unlike the original. The naval part of the game is very shallow yet probably the best part about the game. Enemy ships have a single hit location and once you've damaged it enough you can board it. Sounds arcade-ish? You're right, it is. The waters are littered with floating cargo and survivors, and I mean LITTERED. They're everywhere. Enemy ships pop in large amounts so if you're in the mood for some pirating, you can literaly hang around outside any harbour and shoot anything that moves... and there's a lot of movement. Too much to be honest. The boarding is incredibly boring and repetitive, so you'll soon resort to settle for half the loot and just sink the ****. With a few upgrades you can sink 2-3 ships in the same time that one boarding sequence takes so you'll actually earn a lot more that way. The only reason to board is to heal your ship mid-combat. Otherwise the game is more or less like the prequel.
A very fun game to play against friends if there's enough beer involved. Just like PES2014 in other words. Against AI and online is simply pointless... well I can understand why young people (10-15) might enjoy this shallow piss **** because they aren't usually very demanding. I was like that myself, we all were more or less. Anyway, football games are in a sad state compared to other sports games.. maybe football is simply too complex to emulate or maybe the game companies doesn't really try. Either way... the result is bad.
Well... the game itself can be enjoyable if you're willing to swallow a few camels along the way. It's not a great game by any means but it isn't as bad as some people make it out to be either. Is it fun? yes Could it easily have been much funnier? yes Does that make you sad? yes...
Dawnguard isn't all that big, but it adds some much needed gear to the boring Skyrim world. If Skyrim had actually been a decent game then this addon would be worth the money without a doubt. Too bad Skyrim is a poor, shallow game that is neither a good RPG, a good action game or a good adventure game. It tries to be all of that and more but it does everything far below average.
The PC port is bad but the mod called DSfix fixes everything. DSfix also enables texture modding possibilities by the way. Anyway, the game itself is brilliant! It's easy and hard, simple and complex and fun and boring at the same time! I can't really explain it better than that lol. The combat is simple yet it flows and feels good. You have a ton of things to consider regarding gear that will change combat so much that I't quite amazing how they've manage to balance it. I'd personally love a bit more gear to choose between and possibly a real dual wield combat style. The story is great but it isn't forced down your throat so you can kind of choose whether you want to play this as a pure arcade game, an RPG or a mix between the two. The online stuff is also great, but you can choose not to be a part of that by plugging out your internet cable.
I give it a 5 because it has mod capabilities and The Nexus supports mods for easy access. The game itself is linear, simple and quite honestly boring but you'll be able to find some nice mods out there which makes it playable.
The graphics in this game is quite good. The character customization is excellent but the clothes are not only ugly but the textures looks like they've been made by amateurs for the most part. I know the game is supposed to be tongue in cheek, but the humor isn't really that great. The enemy spawning is far too close to the player so unless you manage to find a dead end street you will get attack from all angles basically all the time. It will probably happen in a dead end street as well because the enemy comes from everywhere including the sky. The game is 99.5% reuse of resources from Saints Row The Third and should basically not be allowed to be sold for more than 5 bucks as it is essentially a glorified DLC. It is fast paced, short and fun for a laugh but the novelty effect dies within an hour or two. Nice try but.. seriously no it wasn't. I did like the superpowers though, so that earned one point. Shame on volition... bad work.
As all football games this generation it doesn't really play much like real football. But it does it better than FIFA in every single imaginable way and you will get glimpses of realism in this game. It will also give you situations that will make you want to tear your eyes out and feed them to your cat. A few patches and tweaks and this game will become quite good. It is already good compared to other football games. In time, maybe we will have a really good and fun football game if Konami keeps up the good work they've done on this one. In all fairness, the demo is better so let's just hope they implement the AI gameplay they used in that one and improve the keepers somewhat. It could also use a passing style option. The team styles doesn't really work all that well, as the AI will favor long passes regardless of what you actually set them to play. How can I give an 8 after saying mostly negative stuff you ask? Have you played FIFA? that one deserves -5... ok the two last ones maybe 0. Football games have **** for a few decades and this is a HUGE step in the right direction so it deserves some credit for the effort. I have fun with it if I take it at face value.
Well... where to begin? First off, the graphics is... well it could just as well been released as a free Minecraft mod. It looks like Minecraft, it smells like Minecraft. If you don't like Minecraft just like me, you will not like this one either.
