As another person said, it isn't a fresh take, it's the same corny B-rate tripe we've had for years now. There's the odd good moment here and there, but they're so few and far between. You'd have to be pretty deluded and or have rather poor standards to think this is actually anything better than OK.

Shills and NPCs giving this 9s and 10s (after one episode) on rating sites I see. I wouldn't give my fave series/films of all time a 10. Very bizarre. This still pales massively in comparison to the game in every way so far. Mostly the scenes are nowhere near as impactful as their source counterpart. The game came at a time somewhat just before the whole zombie thing wasn't absolutely done to death, and it was mainly the stellar performances, the bond the characters had, and the editing that made the game and set it apart. Today, it has to be at least equal or better or it's just another beyond-tired zombie show. Hopefully, it'll win me over in the coming weeks and I'll alter this review/rating. Episode 3: As agenda-pushing at it felt, I wouldn't have been okay with it if they were straight either. It was a perfectly fine "filler" type **** damn, they're telling the entire 1st game's story in just 9 episodes and they're "wasting" it with stuff like this? There are only 6 episodes left... But gaining brownie points is higher on the list than telling the game's main story I suppose.
