It's not bad, it's a version of Missile Command. I wish the ship graphics had been better but the gameplay is fine, good to spend a few minutes on now and again or challenge your friends to set a high score.

This game won't be for everyone but it has a very cool concept. It's essentially a tower defense game, with a hybrid of RTS and tactical RPG styles (watch a gameplay video if that sounds confusing, you'll see what I mean), with "rougelike" elements, if you want to call them that, in the way it procedurally generates the maps and you can unlock abilities that you can then use to start your next run. It's not a game with a ton of replayability, although it's not easy and it may take you a while to get through it on normal and hard. You can restart from checkpoints as you go, or even turn on the option to restart individual levels, if too many of your commanders are dying. The game can wipe out your force pretty quickly, if you make a bad move. Controls work well and I haven't seen any glitches. My biggest complaint with the game is that it can be hard to see which enemy type is coming in individual boats, and if you try to match a "rock" unit with your "scissors" you will very quickly get wiped out. I am getting better at distinguishing the minute details that differentiate enemy types the more I play it though.

Great local multi-player chaotic game. Only a couple issues: not enough maps (fixed by getting the DLC), telekinesis powerup is overpowered (fixed by just disabling it in the options menu), and not enough of a handicap system to fully help weak/young players (although my 9 year old still loves it even if they don't win very often).

This game isn't perfect, but it's really good. The makers cite Dead Cells, Rogue Legacy, Contra, and Metal Slug as their inspiration, and it's easy to see those influences. The comic book art style and theme is well done, the controls are tight, the difficulty is adjustable and it supports 2 players. I highly recommend you grab it when it goes on sale (which it routinely does), you will get far more than your money's worth. My only real issue with the game is that you can't remap the controls.

Loved this game, and that's coming from someone thoroughly bored of other tower defense games. My favourite part, and what initially sold me on the game: destructible terrain! Can lag when playing survival mode and the screen fills with enemies, but that doesn't ruin anything, think of it as slow motion replay to enjoy the immense damage you're inflicting. This game looks great, runs great, and is just plain fun, allowing you to use your reflexes but also creative thinking to optimize enemy routes and squeeze the most out of your towers. This game goes on sale regularly, highly recommend you get the complete edition as the base game feels pretty easy on Normal by the end, and the DLC levels add some new unit types that make you react differently.

I want to like this game but I can't. Its simplicity is actually a good point, but there are things that just don't work. Some rooms have a cluster of enemies that make it so if you don't have ranged weapon, prepare to leave the room almost dead. It just isn't fun to play when skill doesn't seem to be able to balance out the need to find a random drop good ranged weapon or else suffer.
