It's one of the best 2D puzzle platformers in recent years with a brilliant soundtrack, beautiful visuals, well designed puzzles and great, emotional story-telling. I honestly don't know why so few people know (and buy) these games. Based on the quality they should sell millions of copies.

Yes, the game is rather short. It‘s also not too expensive. And it‘s one of the best VR experiences you can get right now. The concept is fantastic. The puzzles are fun and come with several jaw-dropping moments. The voice-acting is excellent. The graphics are simple, but the art style is great and fits the game perfectly. Like many others, I wish the game would be longer. But there is no doubt this is one of the most clever, most enjoyable VR puzzle games out there.
Wow! Just wow! This game came unexpected. Never heard of it before. The screenshots looked a bit like a walking simulator with a few gameplay elements. The description was vague. I didn't expect too much. To be honest, I just bought it because I had wallet left from trading card sales, so I had to pay only 2€ on top of that. But now that I know the game - it's easily worth the money. It really blew me away. When you start the game, you will in fact think this is a walking simulator. After just a few minutes - when you get your suit - you will probably think: oh, it's more of a running simulator. This will be fun! Well, the game actually has absolutely nothing to do with a walking simulator. It opens up more and more and more. At some point even combat is introduced. The game takes its time, so that when you have your first fight, you are really surprised that this is in the game. You get new upgrades for your suit on a regular basis. And what awesome upgrades those are. I'd say the double jump is the least exciting of them. Wait until you are in your first speed tunnel... ;) Aside from all that the game has this really great life/death mechanic. You can take life, and you can give life. This works with animals, trees and other plants. So if you really need it, you can take from nature. But don't take too much. The valley itself also has some sort of HP meter. It's an interesting and innovative concept. I like it a lot. The story is mostly told through audio logs and notes. This may sound boring to some of you, but it really isn't. You listen to the audio logs while playing, and the notes are pretty short - so neither of those will hinder your game flow. The story is pretty interesting. It didn't take long until I really wanted to know what the hell happened in the valley. The graphics are awesome. And the sound design is absolutely fantastic. The world is well designed and interesting. Well, almost everything about this game is just great. The only negative thing I can think of is the difficulty. It's a little too easy. But that's really a minor complaint. My playthrough was exactly 5:57h long. Overall this is just a great game. A real indie gem. And I hope it get's the attention it deserves. If you like puzzle games and are up for a challenge, The Witness is your game. A beautiful island full of hundreds of little puzzles awaits you. And although all puzzles look pretty similar, if you see them on screenshots, there is a lot of variation. Also, while there is no traditional story, there are little story pieces to be discovered, scattered around the world. The Witness may not be a game for everyone, but it most certainly is one for me. ;)
The game already gets downvoted. Most likely from people who don't own the game, as usual. The game is actually really good. It performs really well, and it is a lot of fun. If you enjoyed Far Cry 3, you will like this one aswell. And well, unlike AC Unity this one actually works. ;)
I absolutely loved Escape Goat, and I am happy to see more of it now. Escape Goat 2 is basically more of the same, which is not a bad thing. It offers a nice balance of platforming and solving intelligent puzzles. The controls and mechanics are just great. Really nothing to complain about here. The difficulty is very low in the first few levels and always gets a little higher from level to level. Nobody should have any problems getting into the game. And yet it is quite challenging later on. Escape Goat 1 offered some high difficulty levels after beating the campaign. I expect the successor to offer the same (I didn't finish it yet, so I just can assume it will). The main difference to the first part is the graphics style. Instead of the basic pixel art we got in Escape Goat 1, this game now uses a new high definition graphics style, which many people will like. I personally prefer the old art style, but I am fine with either of them. The most important thing for me is, that the controls didn't change at all. Despite the new graphics the game feels absolutely like the first part. Not all games manage to do that. I like it a lot. Both Escape Goat games are real indie gems. You will enjoy your time. Having played the first 3 hours, i really can't understand the horrible reviews this game got. I really enjoyed my time so far. It looks like a very nice spectacle fighter. I like the art style and the cinematics. The controls are pretty good so far. You combo your attacks with 3 buttons (which is just complex enough for me). Doing big combos while being surrounded by dozens of zombies is really satisfiing, i have to say. In addition to these buttons you have a dash to quickly move (no jump btw), a block and some other actions like grabbing a zombie in order to use him as a weapon or throw him. Overall the combat feels really good. I can't complain at all. The difficulty seems to be pretty high, but I don't mind dying a few times now and then. They could have added a few more savepoints. But that's only a minor complaint. The camera is fixed, you cannot adjust it yourself. This will piss off some people. And yes, sometimes you end up in a situation where the enemies are behind the camera, where you can't see them. This can be annoying sometimes. On the other hand, you can use your right thumb purely for attacking, blocking etc. and don't have to interrupt only to move the camera. I think both systems have pros and cons. I am fine with how Yaiba handles it most of the time. So yeah, i think it's a good game. The most important thing is that the combat feels really good, and that's what these games are all about, right? ;) Some gameplay footage: ****/watch?v=GrhU-1BLDig
Gunman Clive is pure fun! It is a well designed platformer with a variety of different mechanics (e.g. gravity switching) on your way to the end. Beating the game takes about 1 hour (which is totally fine for the amazing price of 2€ or 2$). After you finished the game, you can attempt a second run in Duck Mode, which is super fun. The levels are the same, but how you have to approach them, i is totally different. You have no way of killing the enemies anymore, which greatly changes the dynamics of the levels. Since Duck Mode is way harder, I assume that it will take about 2 hours to complete (I didn't finish Duck Mode yet). Approx. 3 hours of really solid platforming gameplay for 2€. Awesome!
140 is a really enjoyable platforming experience. it is very much rythm based, and i like that a lot. most obstacles are not too hard, except for the last one, which i needed quite some tries for. the visual style is very basic, yet awesome in its own way. the music fits in very well (the gameplay is based on the music, in fact). overall a really nice experience. maybe a little short (took me 60 minutes), but hey it's a really cheap game. so don't complain. ;) 8/10
i can't believe all the bad reviews. this is not a remake, guys. the game just got re-released. it's the same game we played 20 years ago. and it is still super fun. it has a really nice art style, very good music, good nonlinear level design and it's just hard enough to make me cry once in a while. ;) this game is fun, even today. whoever complains about bad graphics or high difficulty you better buy another game.
