Project CARS 29
May 26, 2023
Improvement on the first. Main gripe from users is handling? Dont think thats the games problem... Fiddle with the settings to allow greater steering input with analogue sticks and your golden. Generally it seems you cant fully lock the wheel wjen your using a controller, but theres just a few sliders to alter to sort this. Its been done like this to suit lower level racers on easier difficulty as it is easier to control the cars with less sterring input. How much you can adjust the inputs is just another strength of the game over most.

Not sure what all the bad reviews are for. This, other than PC2, is likely the best game on PS4 in terms of realism with regards to handling. Its mot a game to buy for flair and cute menus. Go buy NFS if thats what you want. If you want realistic handling, get Project Cars. Weakest point for me would be how slowly the career progresses and how realistically its just like a host of arcade races made up for you into championships. Theres no real feeling of progression other than racing in bigger cars later on.

Age of Mythology: Extended Edition9
May 25, 2023
Age of Mythology has always been excellent and to me the most interesting entry in the Age games with the addition of mythological beings. The lacklustered chinese expansion is a shame, but the original game is good enough that it can be avoided and still be a fantastic game.

Before reading , understand i **** Unless you love shooters and are very good at them, this isnt really a game you can pick up late in my opinion. Its effectively search and destroy fromolder call of duty titles on hardcore mode at a slower pace and longer waiting times between rounds and games. My general feeling is that I'll sit down to play a game for a couple hours, and if its siiege, that two hours will have about 20 minutes of actual gameplay that isnt drving a silly rc car or looking for one, and about 3 minutes of gun fire... Not my cup of tea

SSX9
May 25, 2023
Not sure what all the hate is about. This game came out on a new generation of console well after the last ssx game on the previous gen, so yes there are significant changes. I wouldnt recoment going into this thinking your getting Tricky 2, its different, but in my oppinion just as good. Sunk hundreds of hours into it online and offline. One day there may be another, heres hoping

Many groans about piss filters and downgrades. Still fast paced racing with cool customisation. Personally dont mind the filter, blur and bloom etc as the game looks even uglier with this turned off in emulators.

Gran Turismo 59

Marred by lowered campaign content, but helped greatly by online races and features keeping it fresh. Sadly this was pulled far too early. I'd still visit this game and would have played far longer if not for this shutting down. The only GT5 required for PS3 though, shame GT6 wasn't a launch release for PS4.

Dynasty Warriors 510
May 25, 2023
Pinacle of the series. Played them all For a long time I've debated 3vs5. Hot take, but I see 4 as a step in the wrong direction and 5 reverted back towards the look and feel of Dynasty Warriors 3. Not sure how DW4 has become a fan favourite, its dull, slow, poorly balanced and the sound effects are close to unbearable to me. If DW4 didnt exist, DW5 would be a seamless, perfect sequel to DW3, however i do miss my bodygaurds!

Quake III Revolution10

The best ps2 shooter, no question. It is the only title that still feels playable. Many many drunken nights with friends have passed trying to beat the campaign with all characters on Nightmare. The controller settings can be modified in settings to mimic gameplay of the best current shooters. Taking auto-centre off, and altering sensitivity to 80, 120, 80 in that order. There's is also a pre-set button layout for bumper triggers and better analogie set up Responsive, creative, timeless gameplay, truly feels like a modern shooter with older graphics. Drinking game - Nightmare difficulty, Team deathmatch. You and one friend vs 5 enemies. Drink every death. Enjoy.

SSX Tricky10
May 25, 2023
Ssx is a 10/10, and this added the small tweaks it deserved. My only gripe is that it didnt add enough. Would have like to see 3-5 more tracks. It did come out pretty soon after ssx though and what it did add was superb, so maintains the 10 rating

Another game that since its introduction to me at a very young age i have loved. Always wishing for a new title. One of the few games that needed to change very little from the original recipe to improve. Superb.

I bought this game at the age of 25 having necer played it, growing up on GT3 and always having a soft spot for the game and its flagship cars to this day. I fully believed GT4 could not top it. I was wrong. So much content, so much racing, timeless. Great but forgiving driving mechanics, possibly the best PS2 racing game in existence. It can be as hard as you want it to be without the needd for difficulty settings or sliders. Don't cheat, don't cut corners, race clean and get 200 racer points per race, then tell me its an easy game...
