In 100% honesty, between Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3, they both ****, and the earlier games in the franchise could do you better... FAR better. Modern Warfare 3 lacks "fun", IMO. Too many people are competitive, and for some reason camping is far more present in this installment than in the previous COD's. The Singleplayer, was the biggest disappointment. I prefer Battlefield 3's, solely because Battlefield 3 ripped of COD4, which was a decent story to unravel. MW3, you just kill Makarov, and for some reason, the developers wanted to kill off all the main characters on the way, which is lazy story telling IMO. But nobody plays this for the Singleplayer, and if you did/were going to get this for that (like I did); trust me, it's crap. The multiplayer will make you want a COD older than Black Ops, and the only good thing that keeps this game "average" IMO, is the Spec Ops Survival mode.

Battlefield 3 lived up to my expectations for about 2 weeks, then I found myself done with it, even after the Back to Karkand expansion. As a Battlefield 2 veteran, I was hoping for a game that was Battlefield 2, with improvements and revolutionized Battlefield the series. It only delivered to the latter, and I can't say for the better, but for the new. In other words: If your new to the series, you may or may not enjoy this game; it depends if you give it a chance. But BF3 still suffers from BC2s biggest flaw... it's hell playing this by yourself, and zero to no fun.

It was worth waiting a few years to get this in the bargain bin... Left 4 Dead (outdated to it's sequel which came out the following year), is a definate not buy if your looking to get it (by the time your reading this it'll be sometime after 2011, so don't get this). A decent game, just incomplete.

I'll keep it short and sweet... Cons: Linear gameplay, no direction (you just kill monsters), highly repetitive. Pros: Despite the gameplay being linear; this IS my most favorite 'zombie' shoot 'em up on the market. With a game this fun (especially with friends) you don't need a reason/story to be doing it, all I'm thinking about is the next round. And for it being highly repetitive, it's a lot better than what I've experienced with World at War and Black Ops "**** Zombies". In a 3 way (between Treyarch's Call of Duty Zombies, Left 4 Dead, and Killing Floor); despite KF not being a true blue zombie game, this is the best, most underrated, and overlooked.

I can see why people love MGS4, but for me, I can't. As much as I like video games with stories, MGS4 takes it to a whole new level. MGS2 is my favorite in the series, I never got my hands on 1, but 2 and 3 are great games and highly recommend them... but when I picked this up, this game put me to sleep. The cut scenes were so long, I actually took a nap... Then you have to install the different chapters onto your PS3 and you can only have one at a time, so either you load Chapter 1, then load 2, and if you wanna go to another save file, you gotta load Chapter 5... it's complete hell. But through all this garbage, MGS4 does have a decent multiplayer that'll keep you hooked for about 1 hour, and the gameplay is fun in Singleplayer and is a MGS in the end so you can't really go wrong there. But when the game makes the player wait 30 minutes to actually interact with the game and actually play it, I can't call it a game. Metal Gear Solid 4 is an interactive movie. You spend more time, trying to follow a story that makes little to no sense, than you do actually shooting bad guys. I could go on and on about how much I'm disappointed in the game because it drove me insane, and there are a lot of combat elements that are realistic and fun, but the actual "GAME", just ****.

I see a lot of people/critics that praise Uncharted 2 for being such an amazing game, and I realize that Uncharted 2 has an amazing cinematic feel and does all these other wonderful things with multiplayer, co-op, and all that other good stuff; but Uncharted is definitely in my top 10 games of all time list. I think me, at the time, I hadn't played anything like Uncharted, it didn't remind me to badly of Tomb Raider, and despite the mechanics slightly reminding me of Gears of War, I still felt like it was original in it's own way (which it is). I loved how the story was told, and unfolded because originally getting into the game, it just came with my PS3, I originally had no interest in it at all (I really followed through with getting my PS3 for MGS4). But after playing Uncharted through and through, on every difficulty and unlocking everything; Uncharted remains my favorite PS3 exclusive title... more than Uncharted 2.

I'm going to give this game the benefit of the doubt... The developer for all I know, and through all my research probably had less than a year, maybe even a month to make this game, and for under a year/months work this game isn't half bad and is really good, as long as you play it like it's an Alpha. But that's just the thing, nobody, except Bobby Kotick, should have to pay $10 for an Alpha. Those are usually free & leaked.

I watched some footage about the art direction on Dead Space 2 for school, and in doing so, made me want to play this game. However, this game is so well made, and so scary, that I wasn't playing it, I was experiencing it, I tried to sleep for about an hour and gave up and successfully finished the game by pulling an all nighter the night I received it. Playing through it the game had me on the edge of my seat the whole night, and I was quite impressed by the games length and I LOVED how the game included 2 discs, so that DLC was like an expansion, and not the other 3rd of the game. The combat didn't get as repetitive as I expected it to get, and I really loved the telekinesis, which not only helped save ammunition but added a change to the game play that was something I am not used to in Survival horror games. In all honesty, I hate non FPS multiplayer games unless it's racing. Even with FPS I prefer them 99% of the time on PC, so the multiplayer didn't appeal to me all that much, however it is fun with it's L4D style gameplay... like L4D, I prefer the non-human team, and it's a hell **** time. All in all, even if you don't like Dead Space 2's style of game (non FPS or whatever) this is still a great buy, this is one of those few games, I would recommend to anyone, except my mother, because, yes, there is some really brutal and messed up things in this game...

User ScoreKAS--Will

In all honesty, TRON: Evolution isn't a BAD game... it just has too many short comings to be called, "Good". For starters the controls are some of the worst I've ever played with a 3rd person on my 360 (then again the only 3rd person I have really played and enjoyed was GoW), the camera angles are simply terrible and like most movie 3rd person games, has a mind of it's own and would rather kill you then let you play. The online play, however unbalanced is semi fun. If TRON just took more example from TRON 2.0, or just fixed A LOT of the things I mentioned above, this game would easily be a 7 or possibly even an 8. However, it just simply become to tedious to play after a while and for the first time in a while, I actually put down a controller and walked away from boredom... and I wasn't even through the 2nd chapter. After the 2nd chapter, I came back and found myself having fun, but never really kept me pleased due to the amount of times I died trying to master the controls. The light cycle chase segments would be jaw dropping, if it wasn't handling like a drunk driving simulator... To sum this all up, I love TRON, and the original games still have a warm spot in my heart and every once and a while I try to get my name on the weekly leader boards for both TRON and Discs of TRON, but TRON: Evolution is a rent at the very most, other than that, this can be skipped. A avid TRON fan isn't missing out on much if they pass this up except hours of frustration and trying to master a game's mechanics that will have it's servers possibly shut down in the next 4-5 years...

It was said that Bad Company 2 is MW2's rival, and with that pointed out, I say it's a tie. Despite MW2 having a better SP experience (IMO), and having better "loner" gameplay in MP, Bad Company 2 takes the crown in combined arms (vehicle vs vehicle/infantry), strategy, and balance (I'm speaking for individual classes, I realize some classes are OP). It became immediately apparent that the team with the better cooperation (or in Rush camping skills) is usually if not always the victor. The only thing holding this thing back from a 10 is the fact that you can't really enjoy yourself while playing as a loner, and the SP experience is anything but original. Anybody who wants a good game, or just something NOT Call of Duty, this is your best bet. Worth every penny.

Not a bad game, but not really the full potential we've seen in a Call of Duty game. For starters the singleplayer experience wasn't as appealing as it could have been, because it was hell bent on making the game feel like an action movie, and a suspenseful one, where in reality the story was boring, had more holes than the Iraqi Navy, but most importantly it was cliche. The multiplayer is where the experience is at, but even that was severely boring after a while because it was just MW2 with a sugar coat graphically, making it lookelike Bobby Kotick vomited. And I feel the game had potential but the minor things like graphics, repetitive gameplay, land it on a 7 because at the core of it all, it is a solid COD game. I only recommend this to Michael Bay fans... but to those Michael Bay fans, even the effects aren't all that impressive.

By no means, by me giving this game an 8 does it mean it's incomplete, bad, or it couldn't require a fix. My biggest complaints are snipers are semi useless aside from using C4 as traps, which is like always in a BF game, fun, but the sniper rifles are next to useless all thanks to the Rifleman's stellar accuracy. But the worst complaint of all that halts me from rewarding this game with a 9 or even better is the lag. I realize this is an arcade game and it shouldn't be held to a AAA titles standards, but for me paying about $15 every 3 months for XBox LIVE and the amount of deaths I've had over lag (not shooting each other at the same time, I'm talking about the lag where your jumping around everywhere/the enemies jumping around everywhere, or your retracing your steps about 3 times before the lag corrects your movement). If this game had lag spikes once every few 2-4 games, once a round I wouldn't have no complaints. But the fact that I have at least 1 spike every spawn (and no it's not my connection/just my connection). But once you brush your way through the lag, and learn the mechanics you can see the full potential of this game, which is anything but a bad.

Under rated to say the least. I participated in the beta, and despite me not getting a Singleplayer experience with that, after picking this up, I couldn't find what made this game anything worst than a 6. It's no masterpiece in the world of modern warfare gaming, but it's not Duke Nukem Forever (Note: I wrote this review nearly 9 months after the games release). In Singleplayer you complete operations which are actually really easy, on Hard I beat this game with ease and almost little to no difficulty at all. But when I jumped in multiplayer there's competition beyond repair. There are a lot of veteran players and decent ones at that. The biggest problem with the game are snipers and support actions. Camping, and moving slow is a big thing in the game, but there's something that ruins the game for most players, and that's the support actions. Their like kill streaks, but generally how you earn them is with points, and you accumulate more points by killing with headshots, or earning badges. The reason it's most broken, is because snipers camp a lot, but also do a lot of damage with virtually no recoil, and bolt action snipers are 1 hit 1 kills, so they camp, never die, get support actions and they spawn camp far to easily. That's the worst part about the multiplayer... that and it's next to impossible to seeing enemies from a distance compared to the beta. Other than that, not a bad game, not a buy for everybody, and not better than BC2/MW2, but still not a terrible game it's made out to be.

User ScoreKAS--Will
Jul 7, 2011
Crysis 2 isn't one of those love hate games, it's one of those love or "I **** at the multiplayer, so this game **** (which that opinion was formed through the beta)". I honestly thought I'd seen it all in the beta myself, but I yearned (as a fan of the original Crysis... which I played on the PC and I found way more enjoyable and couldn't imagine it with a 360 or PS3 controller) for the singleplayer, because I remembered how Jaw dropped I was, and how repetitive and bored I became with the Multiplayer. Since Crysis, Crysis 2 has improved A LOT. Not only is the story more cinematic, and a little less open world, Crysis 2 delivers just about everything I would want out of a Sci-Fi shooter. For starters, I all my friends are Halo fans, and I never got into it. Finally I have a game, that has some form of "realism" with great gameplay and is Sci-fi and involves man kind fighting not only aliens, but a deadly virus... somewhat like the flood. The Singleplayer puts you through the boots of "Alcatraz", a Marine grunt who escapes a sinking sub, and later an alien ship blows his buddies to bits in the water, and is washed ashore, and saved by, "The Prophet"... which is just some black guy (from the first game) and gives Alcatraz the Nanosuit because he's infected with the virus that's killing off the human race, from what I understand was started by aliens. Upon the Prophet doing himself a favor, you march on to find Gould and from there follow epic orders that no ordinary soldier (excluding Cpt. Price and 'Soap') could accomplish by him/herself. The game has features, such as cloaking and armor, which gives you a huge edge against enemies. Cloaking, allows you to sneak around and avoid unnecessary combat or even eliminate personnel undetected. Armor allows you to... well tank; oh and survive long drops. The AI ironically is challenging, even when I played it on Normal. They didn't seem to be scripted, as in if I walk 'here' they'll automatically detect me, when they turned their heads, the actually noticed me, which reminded me of Metal Gear, except better. With the AI acting life like, and the environment being so beautiful even on an XBox 360, you really feel like your in New York. When you first leave an infected park and enter the city, you have a sense of intimidation with the towers and an alien ship sends a siren blurring the screen, creating a dramatic cinematic effect but also made me realize this is exactly like War of the World's... except a little more haunting because I'm a little man in an occupied zone. The sounds also made my ears orgasm. Very rarely in games, do the weapons sound so awesome, or so much like weapons, that when firing at an enemy, I'll pump out a few more rounds to give it that movie style shooting sequence. The Multiplayer is anything but disappointing. Comparing it to Call of Duty is a little far fetched because, although it does take the "Call of Duty leveling" system, the gameplay is completely different with the cloaking and armor abilities. Using both of them actually does make a difference and it isn't like Call of Duty 4, in the sense that you can't run and gun and do well. It's possible but with veteran players, all you can hope for is an even K:D ratio, because taking your time and working with your team is a necessity. So I can't recommend this game to the fast paced, hardcore COD fans, or 6 year olds. But I would recommend this to the non-Halo, non-COD, or just anybody who's looking for a good, new, different, beautiful, original, entertaining game. So, in conclusion: Singleplayer is a must experience, at least rent it if not buy it because it's not too challenging, but not too easy either on the hardest difficulty, "Super Soldier". And the Multiplayer is different, however fun once you get used to it and is NOT an unenjoyable experience, give it some time and you'll love it as much as you love... whatever you love now. On the downside however: I did notice that my XBox Elite, showed it's true colors whenever there was a lot of explosions or commotion going on, and I noticed a frame rate of about 10, but it quickly fixed itself to the steady 30 FPS it holds constantly. I did not notice a frame rate drop at all after 12 hours of Multiplayer gameplay... so take that Eric Hirshberg. Among other things, there's occasional C Grade glitches (glitches that are noticeable and delay the player, but do not prevent the player from proceeding on or crash the game), and yes the C grade glitches are hilarious. And on one more final minor problem, the controls do get overwhelming at times... in Singleplayer, I forget which buttons do what or something, but since there's less in Multiplayer, I can't kick it there. If your interested in this game, it's worth the $60. And if you don't think so, give it time.

It's been so long since I've played this on my PC, and it's such a breath of fresh air. I originally purchased this game back in 2009 and never reviewed it, until I realized how devastatingly bad DNF is. For starters, this game, is a classic. Along with DOOM, Duke Nukem 3D was a game I grew up with, and seeing it make it's way onto the XBox so well, and have great controls and some replay value despite being a hardcore SP game at the core of it, DN3D does have some replayability with the Multiplayer (even though some people are down right God like at the game). The game also features modes that let you record and watch multiplayer, and singleplayer runs, and I actually, for once, found myself competing on the leaderboards, which usually I ignore on the 360 due to cheaters but aren't present on these leaderboards, reason being, you can watch their speed runs over to make sure they AREN'T cheating. Now, despite all that, how's the overall game? It's phonemenal, exactly how I remember it. This game, unlike most others has aged severely well, and next time Gearbox makes a Duke Nukem game, rather than picking up where 3D Realms or Triptych left off, they should just make the next installment a little less like DNF, and more like DN3D. If you want a fun, classic, that'll last you a good few weeks+ from a $10 arcade game, I wouldn't look any further, than Duke Nukem 3D.

Jumping into DNF, I was hoping for a 10 out of 10 experience, but after playing the First Access Demo, I knew I was going to have to settle for a 7 out of 10 game. However, only halfway through the game, I had to lower the difficulty, otherwise I would never give this game the fair review it deserved, because I was stuck and with the crappy controls, and useless, un-dismountable MG turret, I was screwed. So after lowering the difficulty, I realized how impossible the game was and unnecessarily difficult it was so early in the game and decided to give it a 5. However, another problem arose, I died a lot, thus, I had to start over a lot, which meant settling through 1 minute load times, and has made me struggle to understand whether this game is actually a good length, or just a 'quicky' (see Duke, I can be sexual and funny too). Then finally I encountered yet another problem, I was constantly being lost. I understand First Person shooters have a higher chance of confusing, or having players lose track of where their supposed to be going, especially with games that have a highly interactive environment like DNF. However, even in Half-Life 2, where the whole environment was practically interactive, the longest I had been confused, or stuck on a puzzle was 4 minutes TOPS. And this game, may I add, takes a lot of notes/example, from Half-Life. This is just a poorly made, Half-Life wanna be. Then I encountered a boss later in the game, that I had to battle under water, and as if underwater moments in games weren't out of style about 4 years ago, DNF has successfully ruined it. They ditched the scuba gear, and made Duke somehow inhale air bubbles. And what's even more depressing was actually making it to the boss, which would be the prime example of my point as to why this game is confusing, and how easily a player can get lost. It took me approximately 5 tries, to realize I had to place a bomb, which had a glowing icon to indicate where the bomb went, but it blended in so well with the environment, that I didn't realize it till around my 10th try... which means about 10 minutes were pissed away for me trying to solve the puzzle. Another, yes, ANOTHER fatal flaw of the game is it's repitition. With all honesty, if you just barrow this game somehow, and play it up to the Alien Queen with the 3 **** (which is only 3/8 of the way through the game), you've experienced the whole game. After that, everything the game has to offer (driving, puzzles, combat, you name it) has been experienced... except for swimming, which could gladly be avoided. At this point, I knew me, trolling this game, was inevitable. There's even a frame rate issue (meaning the game can't even keep up with itself... or at least the system). It seems to be a usual thing now in the community though, because DNF has it, BRINK has it... hell the only game that's trying to not have a FR issue is COD... more games should follow THAT example (not COD). The multiplayer is very bland, nothing exciting, yes even the "Capture the Babe" mode is just capture the flag at heart, nothing new, nothing special. The Digs is pretty neat and gives you something to work for. However, all in all, I can't stress enough, how bad this game is. It was NOT an enjoyable experience, as much as I tried to make it...

I rented this game knowing I would be bored with it in the first 4 hours. Now let me clarify myself, this isn't a bad game, just not a very replayable one. After completing the Singleplayer experience I felt like jumping into COD4 and owning some noobs, because playing the brain dead enemies and smacking them into objects and getting points and trying to experience new ways to kill, wasn't as fun as I was hoping it would be, and despite me sometimes killing someone completely different than the other previous ways I did, the game either didn't recognize it, or that kill was only available in the trailer... Not to mention at times I didn't know when I could use the lasso, I felt noticed there was no roof and I wanted to launch a guy in the air, and do the "Firework" kill, but the rag doll would get F.U.B.A.R. and would just float in mid air until the shot exploded. The environments and visuals are impressive and the replay value does rely heavily on online co-op, but all my talking about the game going to be completely boring scared my friends off into not buying it, or even renting it. Maybe I'm missing something, but when I tried the "Duty Calls" game, I felt like Bulletstorm was a complete fail from the start because in a way, Duty Calls reminded me how fun Call of Duty was, I liked how generic it was, it was simple, you get a gun, go kill people and at times I accidentally performed an awesome shot and I didn't need the game to tell me it was bad ass. In Bulletstorm, I felt the game was trying to remind me that I'm a bad ass and my kills were cool, and what I was experiencing was intense, rather than just letting me figure that out on my own. Not a bad game, just not a very fun/smart one.

Despite Red Dead having a few minor problems as far as replay ability (IMO) online, Red Dead Redemption is the best cowboy game, to date. It was just recently Rockstar released their latest Sandbox game "LA Noire" which had success of it's own, but Red Dead was the start of showing that Sand box games can be fun not because you can murder whoever you want. The game lets you play through a compelling story and along the way do side missions/stories that are overall fun. The engine handles really well to the demanding graphics and the game opened my eyes to the full potential of western games (which originally I thought would be slow paced and they wouldn't be as fun unless they were FPS), not to mention the sand box aspect was a complete surprise to me, and knocked my socks off when I found the amount of interaction in the world. Underrated at most. This game, no doubt is not the best James Bond experience ever, however it is far from the worst. I think this is the most fun I've had with a 007 game since Goldeneye and many like to argue that Quantum of Solace was better, but I say 'no', due to the short, however action packed James Bond feeling I get from the game was splendid. There were many cliche rip offs from other popular games, as in the "focus aiming" and the combat resembed Uncharted very closely, but despite all that, it isn't a bad thing, infact I loved the gameplay far better than Splinter Cell's and the Uncharted style gameplay was pitch perfect for the game. My only major complaint is that there wasn't enough from the singleplayer experience and the multiplayer needed touch up, but despite all that, a not so bad game. On one more final note, the up coming James Bond game based on the up coming 2012 movie had leaked animations and gameplay footage (being developed by Raven Software, who are also working on MW3), and everything from the animations and gameplay footage looked completely identical to Blood Stone, so my biggest hopes is getting a better, polished Blood Stone experience, and with a few touch ups and more indulging experience, the game will be an instant success.

I wouldn't mind this if it took my 5-20 tries to get to where I was but it took me around 50+ and I just never could find a replay value after completing it considering I didn't know how to go back to previous levels. Some of the levels required me to be quick and agile with my tilt sensitive iPhone and like all my other reviews (referring to using tilt as controls)... I hate tilt sensitive controls especially when under pressure. It's definitely worth it's price.

Fun at first, but too challenging early on. When I first tried Angry Birds the demo, the game seemed very promising, it was challenging and very addicting and I was draining a good charge in one sitting. However, when I bought the full retail game (because my GF wanted to try the full game) we were both stumped and felt like complete noobs judging from the pro standing we had with the demo. For starters, there are around 5 chapters and then some bonus "Golden Egg" levels. Within' the first Chapter there are 3 sections containing levels, and by the 3rd section there was a level in particular where it's taken my GF and I a whole month to complete, and considering that just the first chapter, that's too difficult too early on. Not a bad game, worth $0.99, but the $0.99 Eagle bird or whatever, that automatically lets use skip a level (or whatever) is a sham. I don't think it's worth any more or any less than $0.99, and I don't see what all the hypes about.

Not a bad game, for a tilt sensitive game (which I hate playing with) it's not bad, but not great. For starters, it being Multiplayer only, some of the abilities (like temorarily blinding your enemies for 4-5 seconds) creates a severe unfair advantage, some of the weapons need balancing, and most frustrating is the game does what I hate about tilt sensitive FPS's (on the iPhone) and moves the entire screen when the player is hit. However, the game is FUN (at times) and is very addicting, and I love the interaction but my online experience was ruined by the minor complaints I had. However, the game is fun (as stated earlier) and is not over priced (that's a joke... because it's free... and even if it were worth money it isn't worth more than $0.99).

The best game of 2007, hands down. Infinity Ward has revived the franchise to it's true potential. With an interesting story with memorable environments and locations, and extremely fun, intense, and addicting mulitplayer, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, is the reason why Call of Duty, is where it is at today.

Many ideas were celebrated pre-release are missing, but no grudge is held against this well made game. With a few pre-release errors (due to servers being jam packed and causing everyone to lag) and random frames per second lag, if you can over look those (which most critics can't), the game is all in all an impressive first person shooter which is a breath of fresh air in an era dominated by "modern" themed shooters.
