A tiny bit above average. Everything the game improves over the first title (combat, visuals, sounddesign) it destroys with bad writing and funky voice acting. While the combat gets better and better with every game Obsidian makes, the writing takes a nose-dive over their last titles. I hope they can break this trend with their next project, while keeping the combat as good as it is now.
This expansion is one of the best deals in terms of price/value. The 30 hour mark set by CDProjectRed was accurate for me, although I did not finish every POI and contract yet. The story and characters are 10/10, just like in the base game. Combat has not changed much, so if you did not enjoy it earlier, you wont enjoy it now. There is a lot of new monsters tho. Overall this was a blast to play, especially after the grim and bloody world of the base game and the HoS expansion. It is a bit more lighthearted, but only on the surface.
The whole Tales From The Borderlands series was the best Telltale game I've played yet and I have palyed all of them. Its funny, its tense at moments, it has fantastic music and the final episode is close to perfection. I cant think of anything there is left to improve with this episode. Thats why it is a 10/10 in my opinion.
This is not how you end a season. While the whole game wasnt really all that interesting to me (although I'm a huge fan of the A Song Of Ice And Fire saga), the final episode was especially lackluster. There was no closure to the majority of characters and it was a painfully obvious setup for their next season, which will most likely be a cheap cash-crab after this introduction. I dont get how they can release something like this, after Tales From The Borderlands had such an epic and fantastic final. Skip this one and play Tales From The Borderlands instead.
Now thats how you make an expansion to a Open World RPG. I dont call it DLC, because it adds so much new stuff to the game, its amazing. A fine edition to the main story, even hinting towards how to get the best ending, if you have not finished the main campaign already. Its a perfect display of well done game design and fits right into the world of Witcher 3. Dark and mysterious. This definately made me curious about the next expansion.
I loved the game so much up to this point and it saddens me to say that I am a bit disappointed by the ending. The gameplay doesnt change much, soi I will stick to the story for this one. Its just average. It leaves a lot of questions unanswered and the plotholes are painingly obvious by the end. If you run through the whole game without investing too much time into the story, it might seem to make sense, when it really doesnt. The way the game ended was called since the release of episode 1, but nobody actually believed it. Seeing that it is reality it leaves a bitter aftertaste to an otherwise superb game. Only a 5/10 for this one, I'm sorry.
A very good coop experience. A nice variety of missions that change their layouts slightly every time you play them. The item/mask drops after each mission make it absolutely addicting to play. That being said, if you do not have friends to play with its hard to recommend. The AI bots cant help out on stealth missions and are pretty much useless when police starts to head in.
Very solid RPG experience. About 15 hours playtime on the main campaign is enough content for a low budget title. The storyline is well presented with dialogue fitting to the world of Shadowrun. In addition you have access to the steam workshop with a lot of user generated content. Mechanics wise there is a problem with the hitting percentage which can be frustrating at times. 75% hitchance often feels like its 40% at best. Overall it is a fun experience, even for people who normally dont finish RPGs due to their length.
