Die Hard 2, which is far and away the best of the big summer action pictures, is an almost perfect blend of suspense, thrills, human drama and, perhaps most important, comedy. [6 July 1990, p.3F]

It's not as crisply directed, and the plot holes are easier to find, but Die Hard 2 is filled with the same sense of good-natured, wisecracking fun that infused the original.

Die Hard 2 has lost a bit pacing and the storyline can be a bit tense at times. But to turn it into positives the action is still thrilling with newish strategies of action, awesome magazines and phenomenal explosions but comes in more of a Dèjá Vu type of feeling.

The New York Times
It will surprise no one who saw the first ''Die Hard'' that the heart and soul of the new film is Bruce Willis, who this time is even better.

Los Angeles Times
This is the most cheerfully preposterous film of a jaw-dropping summer, which is not to say it's not fun, it's simply orchestrated Looney Tunes.

USA Today
For a film so antsy to start that it barely flashes its opening title, Die Hard 2 takes a curiously long time to get off the ground. Like many return trips, what was once exhilarating is now a bit flat. [3 July 1990]

More violent, more explosive and even bigger than the original - this ticks all the sequel boxes. But as long as Willis is in his vest and playing McClane, it's hard to care about its shortcomings.

If your idea of a good time is watching a lot of stupid, unpleasant people insult and brutalize one another, this is right up your alley.

Die Hard 2 (1990) is a solid action movie that delivers high-energy sequences and a familiar setup, but it lacks the magic that made the first one a classic. The plot follows a similar structure, with John McClane once again caught in a high-stakes situation, but the tension does not feel as sharp this time. The script has its moments, keeping McClane's signature humor and attitude intact, but it leans more on spectacle than smart problem-solving. The airport setting feels expansive, but it does not create the same sense of claustrophobic intensity as Nakatomi Plaza, making the action feel bigger but less impactful. Renny Harlin's directing keeps the pace fast, and the cinematography does a good job of maintaining momentum, but the action sequences feel more chaotic than calculated. Bruce Willis still carries the movie with his charisma, but the villains are less memorable, and the overall conflict does not feel as compelling. The score and sound design are effective in keeping the energy high, but they do not add much beyond standard action beats. Die Hard 2 is an entertaining sequel with plenty of action, but it feels like it is trying to recreate the first film rather than build on it.

A downgrade from the first movie, it did things similarly, and did them worse, still enjoyable

Dönemin popüler filmlerinden. Genellikle aksiyon üzerine kurulu bir yapım. Benlik değil ve günümüz izleyicine de pek hitap etmez diye düşünüyorum.

Die Hard 2 directed by Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger) and starring Bruce Willis and Bonnie Bedelia. This sequel to 1988's excellent original Die Hard also with Bruce Willis this time takes place at an airport.. Die Hard 2's violence is reduced, the action scenes are less interesting and the blood is reduced. The villains aren't that good as the original and are laughable as they take over an airport and cause mayhem. The action scenes are pretty poor and Bruce Willis as John McClane doesn't seem as convincing as the first. I wish I could of starred in Die Hard 2 to steal a plane and fly off so I never had to watch this piece of junk in the first place. A terrible sequel to a brilliant original.
