The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild10
Apr 13, 2019
If Rockstar Games was the gold standard in open world design, Nintendo took it from them with Breath of the Wild. Anywhere I go in GTAV the atmosphere is almost the same, even though the topography may differ. There's not much difference between the top of the highest mountain and the sunny beaches of Los Santos. In Breath of the Wild however things really get wildly different, from the dry heat of the deserts to the freezing cold of the mountains, to the lush, humid green of the more tropical areas. BotW is a masterpiece, and there can't be any question about it.

Boiling Point: Road to Hell3
Aug 24, 2013
While the game is not bad, it surely is one of the clumsiest I've ever attempted to play. It is Hell not because it depicts hell, but because it is hell to play it. Unless you are really patient, you'll get bored quite quickly going from A to B on-foot, because stealing some car is not as easy as GTA easy, and cars are rare anyways. This, and the fact that in the beginning you are really overpowered in terms of guns and weapons. The pistol is almost useless against enemies, and that's on easy mode. I kept shooting, and they just wouldn't die, but I died very quick when they used their assault weapons. Not exactly fair. Apart from combat and movement, the character interaction, skills and looting are badly implemented themselves, breaking a gameplay that's supposed to be fluid to work. I would say that this is a game to install and play with a save downloaded on the internet, just to cruise around and avoid the unnecessary frustration of completing it yourself.

Grand Theft Auto III9

Tune in to your favourite stations, step on the gas and run over that granny. A cop is comming to arrest you, blow his head off! More cops arrive, burn them to the ground! FBI is here, and soon thye army will join in, send them to hell! Then you die. But no problem. Get in a random car and start over. Or just go wherever you want. No limits. No preprogramed paths. No nothing. Just go wherever you want. You're free. Untill you're busted, or you pass out. Then you start it all over again, this time in a different manner. And that's why this game radically changed my view on games. I was playing Half-Life like mad. I was also playing Delta-Force: Land Warrior like mad. But i didn't realised how repetitive they were until i found GTA3. And after 10 years i still play this game.

Portal 210
Mar 10, 2012
From a free game meant to test players reaction to a full sequel that ended up as one of the best, original and inovative games ever made: this is Portal (2)! I wouldn't go as far as naming it the best game made by Valve, but i would put these two together next to the first Half-Life anytime. Story and voice acting at their best, no cheesy moment, and emotionally engaging (especially at the end), this game was destined to become a cult game from the start.

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames5
Mar 10, 2012
After deciding to never buy another EA title again, i still got this on a bergain at about 5$. Then i couldn't finish it because of the bugs. I just abandoned it. Now it sits useless among the other, all better games i have. The story and game-play seem good and all, but the frame-rate goes below the bottom of the sea too often, and that while keeping it on minimum settings.

Delta Force: Land Warrior8
Mar 10, 2012
After playing the campaign, the game seems rushed and the story... what story? It is, however, one of the first memorable military shooters, and i remember playing the Sphinx mission endless times in various ways, either killing all the enemies, or the least i could. It is a precursor to open-world games (GTA 3 came soon after it), and i always wondered where would i get if i'd just kept going straight trough that desert. Guess i could've gone like that forever :)

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas10
Mar 10, 2012
The Godfather of 3rd person action games of it's time, and sometime after! Huge under every aspect, from size to game-play to variability, plus a story that ties perfectly with all these. It has a fantasy flavor to it (jetpack, green goo, etc), and some role playing elements, like improving some abilities, but they fit just perfect in the game. Above that comes a plethora of mods that expand on the replayability of the game. This game is a must have for any serious gamer!

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City9
Mar 10, 2012
I am very tied emotionally to the roots of 3D GTA, so is difficult for me to say which one is the best. GTA 3 was the very first. Vice City the most vibrant. And San Andreas the biggest and boldest.. And none of them goes below 9, because not only they gained one of the biggest armies of fans, but also punched the industry in the face and showed it where to go.

Diablo II: Lord of Destruction9
Mar 10, 2012
The kind of game that i wouldn't start playing on other difficulty than easy. It is a great game, but on a second run i just used trainers, and even like that, i didn't finished the story again. But i know is the type of game that calls me in from time to time, and that's just what a good game does, it stays in the back of the mind. On other words, LoD is a good lesson to learn when going for Diablo 3: there WILL be an add-on that will radically improove/enhance the original. So whi buy the original at the initial price, when i can get the battlechest later?

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City10
Mar 10, 2012
This double-pack right here is proof of the greatness of Rockstar Games! DLC? These are complete games in their own rights, as short as they are. From dedicated stories to new weapons, interiors, cars and characters, nothing is left out. And each episode delivers, from the gritty feel of TLAD to the vibe of TBOGT, there's nothing to be missed! And above all, this is also an example for many other developers/publishers about "how it should be done"!

Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005)8
Mar 10, 2012
Playing a Need for Speed game for the storyline is like smoking when you're hungry: you get nowhere. Also, once you play a Need for Speed, you played all of them, from the very first to the most recent. However, with this one being the only one i have after reading people's opinion on the web that is the last great apisode in the series, i have to admit that, apart from graphics, nothing really improved in the more recent ones. From here i'll jump right to Midnight Club: Los Angeles. When i'll get a PS3, that is. For now, this NFS gets an 8 for general internet opinion and because it still looks good.

Spore Galactic Adventures9
Mar 9, 2012
This expansion greatly improves on the overall feel of the space stage in the original Spore, adding variability with unique missions, even if often childish (travel from point A to point B, then C, have some conversations, and you end the mission with a maxed score). Above that, the most important part of it is the Adventure Creator itself, being the most complex, and it manages to ve varied and versatile in the same time. Just like with other creators, this one also is limited only by the player's imagination.

Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack2
Mar 9, 2012
This is yet another attempt to get some more money for content that should've been in the original game. If a DLC/pack/add-on doesn't expand on the original game, then it shouldn't be payed, but given for free.

Spore7
Mar 9, 2012
Spore is the first game i bought after reading a review, and the first one to make me feel sorry for that. It is a great experience, but not what it could've been. It doesn't have the replayability that it should, it feels inconsistent, with some chapters being too easy and shallow (tribe and civilisation stages), and it gets repetitive like hell, especially in the Space stage. This game is a lot of stress to finish without mods not as much because of the difficulty, but because of the repeatability and the slow progression trough the space stage. Other than that it deserves it's praise for some innovations like the way it generates the content and how it populates the "game world". trough Sporepedia. Creating stuff, from cells to spaceships, is fun and lucrative, but if that's all you're after then you can stick with the Creature Creator.

Bully: Scholarship Edition9
Mar 9, 2012
Bully is not GTA in a school campus just like RDR is not GTA in the old wild west. Bully is it's own game, and it's story plays out remarkably well. There is only one bad thing about this port: the control scheme. It is one of the first, if not the first game where Rockstar implements the XBox360 controller alongside keyboard controls, and it shows when trying to play with the keyboard. But apart from that, is a gaming experience not to be missed. The world doesn't feel as big and complex as it's contemporary GTA games (San Andreas), but there's a lot to do in it, even with the lackluster number of vehicles (a few types of pedal-bikes, a kart and wheelboard). The weapons in other games here became improvised "tools" like marbles, rotten eggs, fire-crackers and spud-guns, and the campus is just part of the game, with a (small) city waiting for Jimmy to evade into.

Test Drive Unlimited7
Mar 9, 2012
Engaging, beautifully looking and LARGE! This is by far the largest gameworld you'll encounter in a PSP title, thus never really getting bored of it, especially since there are no loading times anywhere you go. But that's quite the only plus it has compared with the other games. The game is made with multiplayer in mind, so on every start you are asked if you want to play online and you can't disable this feature in the menus, which is irrational for a portable console that is not granted to have network access at the rate of a pc. Paired with that, the servers are out by now, since the devs apparently no longer support multiplayer on this title, apparently being buggy since it's inception (though i think it has more to do with hardware's limitations, not coding faults), so you have to spend some "clicks" and some loading times from entering the game to being on the road. It might not seem much at first, but it gets frustrating after starting the game like that a few times. Then you have the occasional bugs with roads or other objects not showing up, and the in-game police is too much of a nuisance to allow the fun to last when yo speed with a fast car. But the soundtrack is there to sweeten things up a bit and afterall, if you're more like a cruiser than a competitor, there is enough road to burn all the rubber you want!

Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip8
Mar 9, 2012
Coming from Hot Shots Golf series, this new game from ClapHanz feels a little less entertaining, though the story layer added to it keps it's fun factor up. But when it comes to playing the actual matches it feels more of a hit or miss than it is with the golf. It is a harder game to master, and some Golf players might not find a good reason to stay in it.

Midnight Club: LA Remix8
Mar 9, 2012
If you don't consider the long and quite often loading times (depending on how often you enter a race, otherwise the city is totally open), this is one of the best, if not THE BEST racing game for the PSP. The voice acting (yes, it has voice acting!) is at it's best and fun to hear now and then, and the soundtrack is top notch (but that's not surprising, being a Rockstar game). All in all if you're looking for a challenging racer look no further. Owners of the previous Midnight Club for the PSP might have fewer reasons, though, because it is almost the same, only with two different cities. I have them both :P

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories9
Mar 9, 2012
This is one of the best GTA games, period! The city itself and the overall game-play doesn't improve on the original too much, but the story is much better and serious than other GTAs, and it easily tops GTA:VCS, which came next.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories8
Mar 9, 2012
One of my most played PSP games! It takes you back to Vice City, it has the vibe, it has the music, the better water and, most important, the swimming! It falls short on other areas, though. The main character doesn't really convince, the city feels depopulated too often and, unlike San Andreas, initially you can't swim to the other half of the city until you unlock it, since an invisible wall prevents that. And also initially, swimming for too long causes you to drown, untill you gain "unlimited swimming" after playing a mini-game on the second part of the city. But putting these aside, there is a lot of game to be played, more side missions than the original Vice City and the music simply doesn't get boring! And speaking of music, Phil Collins is a nice surprise not to be missed, especially because it is artfully integrated in the story (which actually saves it a bit). All in all, an almost average story, probably the lowest of all GTA 3 era games, but rich gameplay. You might not start the game over, but you'll return to your saved one to continue the fun.

Played with it for a while, but ultimatelly i lost interest, with some homebrews doing about the same stuff in a more likeable manner. Still, this "game" deserves it's respect for being unique, for being Rockstar and, to be objective, is not bad in itself, just not everyone's kind of thing.
